- Tulip was feeling festive wearing red and blue rings when I got home today. Thanks to Colton for some of these video clips as he was on beaver care duty today. Is it Friday yet? I plan to do the Stormy meet and greet with Tulip and Petunia this weekend. Will take it slow so will see how it goes.

Tulip throwing a food tantrum before Petunia even gets there. 🤣 Everytime I see Tulip in rings, I get more and more curious as to the reason. So excited for the Stormy meet and greet!

Oh my! Tulip is 100% beaver, a determined log-hauler and dam builder! She deserves a big bowl of food. And might her sweet potato song stay with her throughout her life? Petunia is such a funny character - heading towards a bad decision (sweet potato theft ), but when she gets hold of one end of a long carrot and starts swinging it around, she is on the verge of another kind of trouble with Tulip!

Looking forward to the "meet and greet" this weekend. I have a feeling that Petunia will be the social bridge between Tulip and Stormy. Fingers crossed! 🤞 .

Miss Tulip is truly wonderful with her building, patience and food but to be hit on the head by a huge carrot 🥕 by Baby Petunia is too funny and then for Baby Petunia to dash off welding her prize 😂😂 but so sweet ❤❤❤❤

I have been wondering about Tulip & her rings. I wonder if they apply just enough comfort that they serve similar purpose to compression clothes for animals (thunder shirts for dogs & cats, weighted blankets for humans) - that they provide a subconscious sense of security and calming?
Hmm...so food is somewhat important to beavers. Tulip and Petunia's honeymoon phase is over and now it is time to introduce Stormy. Perhaps she'll be a mellowing influence. We can hope.
My goodness, Tulip - that is one heckuva big stick! She's so serious about making sure it's wedged against the lodge just so; that stick is going nowhere. After work, the Princess changes into some leisure RingWear™ from the just-released Red White and Beaver collection. But it's been a long, hot day, and the Princess is tired and hungry, so a sweet potato plus other anyone in the vicinity produces an impressive Tulip Tantrum. Not even baby Petunia gets a pass from the wrath - she had plenty of playtime earlier, and now it's Tulip Time. We should all follow Petunia's example and retreat to a safe distance for a while... 💕🌷🦫 💕🏵️🦫 💕🌪️🦫 💕💚 💕💙

Well, that stick sure was being pesky. The girls are looking wonderfully chunky and seem to enjoy playing together. Tulip is getting ready for July 4 with her patriotic rings. Those sweet potatoes sure get them riled up!

That's some strength, that "log" was huge , im not sure a human could manipulate the equivalent sized log like Tulip was , they have a technique for moving it as well which is interesting, if you see a dog with a big stick going through a doorway they often get stuck as they can't work out the stick is stopping them getting through, whereas Tulip manipulates it with a shift of her body, fascinating what they get up to.
What's with the biting between them is it pure play or are they testing each others boundaries or dominance , it seems petunia is often biting to the point its hurting Tulip.
I wonder why Tulip likes the rings , it's definitely something she seeks to put on , it would be funny if wild beavers find plastic rings in the wild and run around with them on.

Hey Holley, I have a question. Why are there teeth really orange yellow are they supposed to be like that?
Beavers can store iron in their teeth; the iron compounds in the enamel on the front of their incisors cause their rusty orange teeth color.
As someone else commented - they are orange due to iron in their enamel. Makes them so strong. The underside of the teeth are not orange and are softer. They chisel the undersides by rubbing their teeth together and that makes them sharp.
Does the meet and greet mean that all 3 will be in the same enclosure? Or just sniffing at each other through the fence? I’ve forgotten where Stormy’s enclosure is.

Dr. Muraco, I'm Shocked! Shocked, I tell you!! Poor Tulip is trying to carry a branch to his humble abode, and you're pulling it in the other direction!?!! And then you refused to help him straighten out another branch that is horizontal to his doorway? And someday could Tulip have French dressing for his salad? (I think he likes French, but Thousand Island is a possibility...) 🥰
