  • A 4x4 K-5 Blazer stuck in deep mud, a Jeep CJ-5 stuck in a Tank Trap, and a broken Flat Fender Jeep CJ-3B all at the same time. It was time for the Recovery Team to go to work!

These long days of work sure look like fun! I'd be there if you weren't so far away. Very cool!

Those jeeps were old school cool. Don't see many nearly stock old jeeps on the trails like that

You do good work. I must comment on the movement of the boom on your truck. Those pins at the base are looking dangerously loose or worn.
I love what you are doing and please stay safe.

Seen that happen on school buses, where the driver switches from high to bull low while still moving, puts a nice twist on the drive shaft.

I like those old Willy style Jeep’s. It would be nice to own one. The owner of the blazer sure will have fun getting it back running again. But everyone is out safe and sound.

we had a 1943 Willy's (army surplus) flat head 4 cylinder. They are very good off road but top speed is about 45mph. They sip fuel and get through the smallest trails. If you can keep them off road they might last forever.

If your group had never heard of BYCKSHOT MUDDER OR COOP GRIP SPUR a similar tread design it woul reduce your work load and your wrecker could use a set if they are available in 8 to 10 ply but all I recall were the larger ones in 6 to 8 ply probably not heavy enough for the wrecker and if you tow on a black top surface they would wear faster than your present tires. Also may have more sidewalk sway when towing 50 mph or faster. Be something to consider. West Central Mississippi home if Buckshot Clay mud. When hard after a dry spell and a rain comes it’s slicker than two worms fornicating in a jar of Vaseline and stickier than cement with glue in it, suspect pound for pound it may be heavier that depleted uranium when wet. LOL. Do NOT, confuse the Buckshot MUDDER for Gumbo Wide MUDDER as all it will do is sit in top and spin, the Buckshot and the Coop Gripspur will dig, you can air it up a bit beyond max rated inflation running pressure to have the center crown bow out and dig even more then air them back down before getting in the hard surface. Lower air pressure a bit if needed when in sand.

I did not know where you lived but I actually have been to the metropolis of St. Croix Falls! There must be at least 1000 people there. But just like everywhere else that I have been in WI, the people are extraordinarily kind.

    Nice recovery.
I think the engine of the Blazer might be slightly "flooded". Radiator could probably do with a good clean as well.
Do you know if they were able to get it running again?

Quick question the high hood flat fender to be a 53 model jeep that came out with you , was that an American or Japanese, Japan made it up to 61 or 62 looking at the front grill I wasn't sure?

Just a question, at this event I noticed that there were some Port-a-johns. In events I have attended in the past the Port-a-johns were labeled Male/Female? Is this the case at this event so the ladies don’t have to put up with the the gross activities of the male population?
