When they revealed the cast initially for Christopher Robin, I felt the same. They had Jim Cummings voicing Pooh but had someone else voicing Tigger. I'm glad they later changed it by giving Tigger back to Jim. For a long time Jim has been the voice of Pooh and Tigger.
IMO Frank Welker is heart and soul of Scooby-Doo. I feel like if something happens to him, then that's the end for Scooby-Doo series. They could bring Scott Innes back to voice Scooby-Doo, but what about Fred.

Wow. Welker's voice was amazingly consistent in 50 years. Not once did he sound like someone in his 70s in the latest movies. Bugs Bunny sounded real old when Mel Blanc got old.
Part of that was certainly due to age, but it probably didn't help that Blanc was in a severe, near-fatal car crash in 1961 that significantly altered his vocal delivery -- and overall health -- after that. It took a toll on him that got more noticeable in the years following the accident.

A tip I've been meaning to leave: check the framerates of videos to make sure you're not getting the European PAL versions, which will have the voices sped up a bit (and thus higher pitched) than was intended--at least, in older works. If it's 25fps or 50fps, it's been sped up slightly. I'm pretty sure your source for the 1970-1975 clips was PAL. as I do not remember Fred's voice being higher (and whinier) then, and his voice goes back down in the 1976-1978 clips. And it sounds completely different than when he intentionally makes his voice higher to make him sound younger in 2006-2008.
His voice acting definitely become much more fluid after the 80s. Probably had something to do with the insane amount of experience he got in the 90s working for Disney. Seriously... He voiced at least half the characters in a given episode of anything he was in. 🤭

Here's what I don't get: if you were NOT going to use Frank Welker for Scoob, for whatever reason, why not get Freddie Prinze Jr.? He's a pretty good voice actor as well, and it would have been a cool throwback. Nothing against Zac Efron, but that was definitely "celebrity casting", not because he best fit the role.
They tried to revamp the franchise unfortunately it didn't work. I do agree though Freddie Prinze Jr. would have been a nice call back to the 2002 and 2004 movies.

I don't know if it counts or not, but in officially sanctioned Warner Bros. capacity, there's a Hallmark released Scooby-Doo ornament with a sound function (so they can charge an extra 5-10 bucks) with someone who totally doesn't sound like Frank doing Fred's voice.
Kind of surprised Fred had a singing voice in Music of the Vampire. Given his versatility, I would have thought Frank Welker would have been perfectly capable of pulling off a singing performance for the character. Wise is a good singer (after all, this is the guy who performed Goofy Goober Rock in the first SpongeBob movie), but his Fred voice sounds way too nasally. Zac Efron sounds like...well, Zac Efron. There’s not much else to it. The two true voices are Welker and Steven. Steven works well as a younger Fred who has a much more interesting personality than in pretty much any other Scooby media. However, I still lean slightly towards Welker, as he is the voice I’m the most used to, and he is capable of making Fred sound interesting whenever they do manage to give Fred some personality, like on What’s New Scooby Doo? 1. I also heard that Cartoon Network use to sometimes run the Scooby-doo Where are You episodes a little faster to fit in the commercials.

My favorite actor that voiced Fred Jones is Frank Welker
His voice acting definitely become much more fluid after the 80s. Probably had something to do with the insane amount of experience he got in the 90s working for Disney. Seriously... He voiced at least half the characters in a given episode of anything he was in. 🤭
I think it mostly had to do with giving Fred more of a personality in those later years.

First the student and then the MASTER! Frank Welker has done it all but will always be Fred Jones 50 years still going! and strangely he was supposed to play Shaggy at the start of his career and Casey Kasem was going to play Fred
Here's what I don't get: if you were NOT going to use Frank Welker for Scoob, for whatever reason, why not get Freddie Prinze Jr.? He's a pretty good voice actor as well, and it would have been a cool throwback. Nothing against Zac Efron, but that was definitely "celebrity casting", not because he best fit the role.
They tried to revamp the franchise unfortunately it didn't work. I do agree though Freddie Prinze Jr. would have been a nice call back to the 2002 and 2004 movies.

For Scoob! movie, the studio should've hire Frank Welker to play as Fred Jones since Scooby-Doo! Where Are You? has his inception. Even a celebrity Freddie Prinze Jr. or Robbie Amell is a better choice than a random choice.

I don't know if it counts or not, but in officially sanctioned Warner Bros. capacity, there's a Hallmark released Scooby-Doo ornament with a sound function (so they can charge an extra 5-10 bucks) with someone who totally doesn't sound like Frank doing Fred's voice.

Kind of surprised Fred had a singing voice in Music of the Vampire. Given his versatility, I would have thought Frank Welker would have been perfectly capable of pulling off a singing performance for the character. Wise is a good singer (after all, this is the guy who performed Goofy Goober Rock in the first SpongeBob movie), but his Fred voice sounds way too nasally.
Zac Efron sounds like...well, Zac Efron. There’s not much else to it. The two true voices are Welker and Steven. Steven works well as a younger Fred who has a much more interesting personality than in pretty much any other Scooby media. However, I still lean slightly towards Welker, as he is the voice I’m the most used to, and he is capable of making Fred sound interesting whenever they do manage to give Fred some personality, like on What’s New Scooby Doo?
