Great reaction guys! I'm going tell you upfront that you will be getting some flack for the version of 'I Shot the Sheriff' you chose. This is the chill one: Sheriff/Zion/Hip Hop goes from Reggae to Ska madness... very fun but I love both for different reasons. Get to the other if you can, but this whole reaction was wonderful! I like it when the less known videos make it in. Edit: Yes they have many originals and they are wonderful as well. They also did a Broadcast on Live Nation from home, which is fun. There last concert is also available here on yt in full. Two songs that I'd like to see more of All My Heros and Icarus.
'I shot the sheriff' that you should have done was played just before War Pigs (the massage before the kick in the teeth). Two more fantastic busking videos from Ren are 'Wade in the Water' and 'It's a Man's World'. Ren is incredible check out Ocean or Humble with Eden Nash (original Ren I think).
Believe it or not... you've barely scratched the surface! Ren... featuring Chinchilla collaborations... Chalk Outlines & How To Be Me are a good next step down the Ren Wonderland. But Losing It... What You Want & Genesis are a must! ENJOY!!!

Imagine if he did three sets at Glastonbury - singing set - bard set and then hip hop set - mind boggles - second multiple comments do ren and chinchilla tracks along with money game 1 n 2
Well done guys, another two fantastic tracks by Ren and The Big Push Last night I started to watch Ren's interview (more of a conversation, really) with Justin Hawkins and in the first 50ish minutes (which is all I have watched so far) three things really stood out to me: 1. I thought Ren must have had classical guitar training; however, he says he only had two or three formal guitar lessons; the rest he taught himself, or by following RUclips guitar how-to videos if he wanted to learn something specific or found a guitarist he liked that made lesson videos; 2. Ren was racked by insecurities in his early days of busking and performing in general. This surprised me because Ren looks like he was born to perform on a stage; and 3. I am not really a big wrap on The Darkness as a band, more because I haven't really heard much of their music. However, I found Justin Hawkins to be extremely engaging and humble in the interview, so I kind of feel bad about having held a negative bias towards Hawkins and the band in general. I now plan to rectify this by making an effort to expose myself to more of Hawkins and The Darkness. Alex and George, this has truly been a wonderful detour and I feel that Ren does deserve an ongoing wedge on the Wheel of For-Tune. Keep the good stuff coming.
I totally agree - Justin Hawkins was such a good and kind interviewer - really gave time to Ren to give full answers - an hour and 59 mins flew by - do watch if you can - so interesting.
@@analisasmith7927 Thanks Analisa, I will try and squeeze the last hour in tomorrow night. Thanks for the encouragement to watch the interview, it is definitely worth a look.
that interview was excellent. I'm glad he gave Ren the time and space to tell his own story. a professional interviewer on the radio or television wouldn't have done that.
Hola Len - Im 1hr into the interview... never got into the Darkness but like you think he's Ok. Ren.....what an honest trip of an interview. Poor sod. He's so likable.

The other "I Shot the Sheriff" medley with "Road to Zion" and "Hip Hop" is the better version. Ren's new one take video "Animal Flow" drops in 10 hours.
He was doing rap before alongside the Big Push. He likes to do lots of genres and he’s in the middle of promoting a Hip Hop album he’s written and it’s finished and right now he’s also putting the finishing touches on his next album which is guitar and singing based. For originals by the Big Push try the acoustic version of Sweet Little Lady (or the recorded version but I love the acoustic because it’s a one take live through the Brighton Lanes), or All My Heroes. For another busking cover I love Wade in The Water and Feeling Good combo x
Hell yeah! “Rabbit hole? It’s a bloody warren!” Well said sir. And you’ll find even more paths to follow in the musical collaborations that Ren has made - I’ve been branching off to discover more amazing material by artists like Chinchilla and Romain. 🤘🏼🎧🤘🏼
What is it about REN? Honesty, fantastic lyrical mind, great guitarist and good music, even though covering famous songs. I like him because he is a real musician trying to find his niche.....and he is very, very different. Thanks guys.....and no don't shave your head!
You two are awesome! To answer your last question, EVERYTHING he does is worth listening to. You can learn a lot about his journey by watching his recent interview with Justin Hawkins.
Hit the nail on the head there guys - you can see the pure love and enjoyment of performing when the Big Push are on - and it radiates out. This is REAL music - guitars, mics and a couple of amps with no autotune or corrections in sight - Just pure unadulterated joy. They have done some great covers (where of course they have put their own spin on them) but some banging original songs too.

Yes!! The Big Push have original music! I’m being 100% honest when I say that I have not heard a song from them that I don’t love - I can’t believe it!! Sometimes I’m afraid to listen to new music because I’m afraid I won’t like it, so I hesitated a while with The Big Push. That hesitation was stupidity on my part. Together they are absolutely magical!! Ren, Gorran and Romain switch around singing lead vocals, they switch around playing guitar and bass. Their chemistry is unmatched! It’s always a true joy and I’m so grateful for RUclips - otherwise I would have never known of them. I hope they will play together again sometime. Surely. Thanks again for your reactions - please don’t stop with Ren or The Big Push! Treasures and blown minds await, you’ve just scratched the surface!! ❤
The Black Sabbath cover was special! The Bob Marley cover was, well, not so good, but probably was earlier in time. Thamesmen returning to schedule is good news!
Ren said when he has finished the rap album he is putting out he will be doing something else next! Dignity,Precious,Watch out,are Big Push original tracks!
What is so good about these performances is how much smiling is taking place. So many artists stand there all miserable and full of gloom where here they are clearly having a great time every time they busk on the streets.
There is no bad Big Push. They are just all the Dopamine. There is no bad stuff, just different shades of awesome. Hopefully they are able to reunite when Ren is done in Canada. Other great listens are their covers of Sympathy for the Devil, Paint it Black, and their original songs like Watch Out and All My Heroes. Romain Axisa also deserves not to be forgotten. His solo work is very different that what he does with TBP, but he's a virtuoso.
Loving the ‘wibble ’ as always. As well as REN. If Chris forces you to move on then at least try to slot ‘Chalk outlines’ into the schedule before too long as its a brilliant live performance from REN and will also introduce you to Chinchilla who is another independent UK artist that deserves their own rabbit hole exploration.
I first saw him do Chalk Outlines with the Big Push busking which is great but the version he did with Chinchilla is amazing. You need to check that out.
Please continue down the Ren rabbit hole! You’ve still barely scratched the surface. I highly recommend Crutch feat. Bibi, Chalk Outlines (live) with Chinchilla, Blind Eyed with Sam Tompkins, and Humble feat. Eden Nash. Ren is not just a multitalented genius with an insane charisma but he is also a magnet for other talented musicians.
You guys are quite entertaining, I have no words for how much I can appreciate it, too many people too focused on their own self-aggradizement, the enthusiasm is infectious to say the least.
They have played the Brighton dome. They were going to tour and started but Covid. Were invited to Glastonbury but Ren is in Canada for essential medical treatments. Ren produces mixes their sound. What doesn't he do lol. Love the Shot the Sheriff Road to Zion Hip hop version best, because I have always loved reggae ska Thx for doing all things Ren related
Great reaction again. I want to hear more Ren. It is an interesting question. What is he going to do now with his hopefully healthy life. We all hope that you will recover more and more, Ren. 💪👍
Aaaahhhh - the Ren obsession takes hold! I know how it is - can barely listen to anyone else since I found Ren two months ago. Please continue the journey!! Yes, the other version of I shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop is better. Also - Blind Eyed with Sam Tompkins (MC Sessions), collabs with Chinchilla, Wade in the Water and Sweet Little Lady with The Big Push (live acoustic), and Ocean/Humble with Eden Nash, as well as his rap - Genesis, Hunger, Illest of Our Time, Power...there is so much great material!!
Ren was not only the singer/guitarist, he's the audio engineer that put together the recording setup on this. It was all pretty basic off the shelf gear including a couple of Zoom handheld recorders as far as I know. If he ever decides to hang up his performing career, I think he could be a highly successful producer/engineer for a long time.
I clutched my pearls when I heard you were doing War Pigs because I thought they’re not ready! Love this so much especially because you get to hear Romain Axisa shred on that little solo. I’ve been telling anyone who will listen Ren is 🔥 The Big Push is 🔥 and Romain is 🔥
The Big Push original to listen to is It’s Alright, great song! Love your reaction guys, keep up the great work! P.S. There’s a better I Shot the Sheriff version. Its a mashup of that song and Zion and hip hop, it’s AWESOME!!!!!
You haven’t even started yet! 😂 He has some fantastic collaborations with Sam Tomkins and Chinchilla to start with and carry on with the big push they have some great covers. His own music has lots of different styles too. I am not sure how many you have done but the Freckled Angels album has some bangers and then the raps like The Hunger, Losing it, Genesis… have fun
Loved the reaction. You already heard about the ither I Shot the Sherufd, ‘nuff said. I suggest REN’s new track Animal Flow, or an older one called Crutch.
Being a new sub ... I want say hello! I hope you're all well. With that... ...these guys. They are the chefs kiss.😚 Whom ever they cover...they do them proud. Then with their own stuff....just freakin awesome music! Its hard to find GOOD bands now days. They defy the odds! Peace and love always until there is no more!😊❤
I understand that, due to Ren's health problems, it was hard to commit to regular gigs, in case he was too sick and had to cancel. He shared a house in Brighton with Romain Axisa, the lead guitarist. They used to busk regularly with Gorran Kendall, the bassist, and drummer Glenn Chambers. He also has some brilliant performances with Sam Tompkins, and Chinchilla .
Nice to see someone react to this who clearly knows that was War Pigs (but rhythmically done as RATM), into Paranoid, into Crazy Train, back into War Pigs for the false ending, then a few bars of Killing in the Name of (very little gets crowd interaction like that does!) for the real closer. :) Such a shame y'all didn't play the live capture of the daytime Marley/Marley/DeadPrez mashup from the same day as the War Pigs one- there's a far more upbeat vibe with the sun shining. It's 100% worth a watch in your own time. ;)
Check out "Chalk Outlines (live)" and "How to be me (live)". Both are Ren ft. Chinchilla, so you can sneak them on as a Chinchilla reaction instead of a Ren reaction. 😉 Jokes aside, Chinchilla is extremely talented and I've no doubt those tracks would blow you away. For a little more of his range, try "The Hunger" or "Genesis" for some serious rap skills, or some personal favourites are "Crutch" ft Bibi and "Humble" ft Eden Nash. Moving away from Ren, how about "Prelude to Madness" followed immediately by "Hall of the Mountain King" by Savatage for an epic two part twist on a classical piece.
I love this, just wish it was longer. My fave is the mash up version which I’m hoping you have also done but this one and the others are still fantastic 🖤
Check out the video by The big push - Why my Woman. His acting is amazing. Money Game part 1 and 2, Crucify your Culture, Love music part 3, Diazapam. All fire tracks. ❤
Oh, this isn't even back to the beginning, learning stages of his career. This was the comeback phase after the worst of his illness stage. There are vids out there of him busking in Bath while in college before he got sick/before he understood how sick he was. Look for Ren Trick the Fox, that's the band he was in then. there is a sad vid where he is sitting on a chair to sing. trying to keep doing the thing in the early stages of his illness I think. there's also a vid of the first time he busked with Sam Tompkins, their how we met story is sweet but I'll let someone else tell it, and he's sitting on the sidewalk to play there too. AND there's a whole other channel of stuff he produced for other artists while he was ill, work he could do from his room. it's called Ren's Room.` Evidently Glastonbury contacted him earlier this year when he started blowing up, but his medical treatment won't allow it. he just interviewed with Justin Hawkins, who brought up the idea on a video two months ago. and he's contacted Black Pegasus a few days ago. you two are late to the party but he'll likely get to you eventually, in between medical appointments, producing the backlog of stuff he brought to work on and release during his treatment, recovering from the medical treatments, more production.
I can see with your love of classicmusic and your love of real energy in a performance there are 2 more videos that put you right in the midlde of the band as they go crazy. Johnny be goode and paint it black . And they both have Ren on bass rather than rhythm guitar. Trust me you will be smiling the whole way through
This is so good. Personally I think the 'I shot the Sheriff/Zion/Hip Hop' mash up is amazing
Many thanks - I will check this out. Thanks Alex

Will check - thanks Alex!
Yes please check put their original called, Watch Out.
It's pretty incredible.
Thanks - I will check these out. Alex
@@TheThamesmen They actually get the crowd singing the lyrics WITH them. An original song that they hadn't heard yet.
Loved the reaction. You already heard about the ither I Shot the Sherufd, ‘nuff said. I suggest REN’s new track Animal Flow, or an older one called Crutch.
the other busking beginning artist was Tones and I Australia
He is releasing a song in a few hours. Happy Star Wars Day. Animal Flow
Happy 4th!!!!
Being a new sub ...
I want say hello! I hope you're all well.

to name just a few
I understand that, due to Ren's health problems, it was hard to commit to regular gigs, in case he was too sick and had to cancel. He shared a house in Brighton with Romain Axisa, the lead guitarist. They used to busk regularly with Gorran Kendall, the bassist, and drummer Glenn Chambers. He also has some brilliant performances with Sam Tompkins, and Chinchilla .
Thanks - i will check these out. Alex
you would love the big bush - paint it black cover
Okay!!! Cheers Alex
For me, Ren is a caliber of artist that we've not seen since Bowie, Wonder, or Prince. I say this without a hint of hyperbole.
Love your Ren reactions! Check out Ren and Eden Nash Ocean, or Humble.
1.Crucify your Community
2.Losing it
3.Chalk Outlines/How to be me.
Crucify Your Culture 😁
Nice to see someone react to this who clearly knows that was War Pigs (but rhythmically done as RATM), into Paranoid, into Crazy Train, back into War Pigs for the false ending, then a few bars of Killing in the Name of (very little gets crowd interaction like that does!) for the real closer. :)
Such a shame y'all didn't play the live capture of the daytime Marley/Marley/DeadPrez mashup from the same day as the War Pigs one- there's a far more upbeat vibe with the sun shining. It's 100% worth a watch in your own time. ;)
He ho.... Got the wrong one there but look at our age, if we didn't get the musical clues then bears don't shop at Safeway - Cheers Alex
Great suggestion!
WHY THE FK DO I LIVE NR NOTTINGHAM AND NOT IN BRIGHTON. I have missed some GLORIOUS days
Check out the video by The big push - Why my Woman. His acting is amazing. Money Game part 1 and 2, Crucify your Culture, Love music part 3, Diazapam. All fire tracks. ❤
Will check - thanks Alex!
Guys you have to do the I shot the sherif/road to Zion mash up, it’s on a different level. And you have to do the big push - bongo bong!
Okay!!!! Cheers Alex
There is another longer version.
Of this song
❤❤❤❤❤
Great reaction guys, maybe you ll find time to react to the hip hop version of this. I'll blow u away 😊🇬🇧
Coolio - will do!!!
AND there's a whole other channel of stuff he produced for other artists while he was ill, work he could do from his room. it's called Ren's Room.`
Evidently Glastonbury contacted him earlier this year when he started blowing up, but his medical treatment won't allow it.
he just interviewed with Justin Hawkins, who brought up the idea on a video two months ago. and he's contacted Black Pegasus a few days ago. you two are late to the party but he'll likely get to you eventually, in between medical appointments, producing the backlog of stuff he brought to work on and release during his treatment, recovering from the medical treatments, more production.
Warren? You are not even through the entrance hole 😂 don't be scared get your arses down there 😊 no need for a holy hand grenade either 😅
money game parts 1 & 2 will blow you away
LESSS GOOO
Hey Hooo
Check out watch out and sweet little lady. They are big push original tracks
You should check out their cover of 'Praise You' I prefer it to the original!
You know what you need to do...War Pigs week. You've already done 3 versions of it. :)
So it seems Ren was always amazing.
ANIMAL FLOW TODAY ON RENS CHANNEL WOOOHOOO
It’s about “Animal Farm” by George Orwell.
I can see with your love of classicmusic and your love of real energy in a performance there are 2 more videos that put you right in the midlde of the band as they go crazy. Johnny be goode and paint it black .
And they both have Ren on bass rather than rhythm guitar. Trust me you will be smiling the whole way through
They have an EP Can Do Will Do
