  • David Kessler in conversation with Dr. Edith Eger discussing her practical and inspirational guide to healing, which shows us how to stop destructive patterns and imprisoning thoughts to find freedom and enjoy life. Filled with empathy, insight, and humor, The Gift captures the vulnerability and common challenges we all face and provides encouragement and advice for breaking out of our personal prisons to find healing and enjoy life.
Kessler argues in Finding Meaning that it's finding meaning beyond the stages of grief most of us are familiar with--denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance--that can transform grief into a more peaceful and hopeful experience. In Kessler's new work, he discovers a sixth stage: meaning.
This program is co-hosted by the Mission Viejo Library and Creating Conversations.
An eminent psychologist and one of the few remaining Holocaust survivors old enough to remember life in the camps, Dr. Edith Eger has worked with veterans, military personnel, and victims of physical and mental trauma. She lives in La Jolla, California. She is the author of the award-winning book The Choice, and The Gift.
David Kessler is the world’s foremost expert on grief. His experience with thousands of people on the edge of life and death has taught him the secrets to living a fulfilled life, even after life’s tragedies.

I did purchase two books The Gift from Amazon, one is for my daughter who is now 46. I believe she will Love it. We had a Beautiful Jewish couple who took us in as Family many years ago, She saw them as her grandparents and learned much from them, They were a gift from God to us and Florence Trenk always said the same of us. Thank you again.💌🌹❤️

I loved your story Dancing for a death Angel, I had a very terrible childhood and a worse marriage,I love what you said about being a victim, it's not me but what happened to me. I had a gift given to me years ago The gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ and I did overcome. I believe you always had the Gift Giver with you throughout your life So many people needed to hear your story, Testimony, As Mother Teresa said God Loved you so much💕For a time such as this to set the Captives free. Yeshua be with you Always my Dear, Malak Haggoel: Redeeming Angel.❤

This gal is a nothing less than part angel, part tiger but mostly a bad ass. Thank you Thank you Thank you for this true message. BTW being a victim is a false huge part of narcissistic abnormal personality disorder like my father, & my 2 brothers, sadly. I still miss & love my Dad. "Trauma is a mental injury, not a mental illness" plz heal thy self.

This is such a valuable conversation and should be shared widely. Would someone add captions? ( because the sound quality of Dr. Edith’s Voice is not so good)
