I have a 2018 Sti and I think your outlook on the way a car should look and perform is the way everyone should be because honestly if everyone thought this way we would have a lot of these iconic cars around a lot longer so that they can be kept and past on for years. It just breaks my heart to see people abuse these beautiful works of art. I appreciate your channel lots of respect for what you do brother.
Just to add I bought my Sti with 36,000 miles and I’m going through a lot because of the previous owner abuse the car it’s currently at Subaru for a blown bearing it’s going to need a new block and before I start even thinking about driving it I’m going to be undoing a lot of mods that was done with out taking the proper step basically it had a lot of bolt on part with out the get it don mod and the killer bee oil pan the car was pushed to its limits and was starving
Thank you, I appreciate that. Just sharing what I feel is the correct route to go if you want to modify these cars right. It’s not the end all be all, but I do believe there is a right way to go about it. Just need to know how to do it and I’m glad I am able to share my journey.
Bro, this video was so beatiful!!! It almost made me drop a tear 🥲. Much respect 👊. I could feel the love, respect and pride behind this build. DOPE SETUP ❤🔥
Up here in Canada that 2022 WRX would run you $56,500 (CAD) taxes and plates. Best manual package up here is called Sport Tech and runs $46925 (CAD) with dealer fees, taxes and plates. Roughly $10,000 CAD, $7800 USD difference is crazy. Seven years ago my Basic manual 2015 WRX went for $34150 (CAD) with dealer fees, taxes and plates. That has allowed me to spend the difference for modifications I prioritize. Similar to yourself.
man that is insane, to keep it that reliable on the stock block with that power is insane, do you ever have any dam drop or knock on your accessory w it
Never. Dam stays at 1 always no matter how I’m driving the car. I get the occasional very normal -1.4 knock. Quality mods, doing it the right way, maintaining it, and having the right tuner goes a long way.
Making over 400hp stock block has been done for years. It's the user's that end up destroying the cars because they have...well.....lead right feet. And no common sense when it comes to maintaining their shit.
My current plan is to follow the same path as you. I have a new clutch and turbo and about half the fuel system necessary to rock out 500+ easily. Still stock motor. But I'll have a built one by next spring if I plan it out right. I'm heavily contemplating going Haltech in the future. For good reasons. Especially to run flex. Having a daily helps that process out greatly for those wondering....
This is a properly built sti! Not too fancy, not overly built, very streetable yet frightening when you make boost. Have you considered RK Ti exhaust (might be louder i guess)? Also have you considered gold rims just for fun? 😄
Thank you! Yes I’ve looked into rk, but don’t think I’ll go that direction. Checked the titanium exhaust options off on the list I think. Don’t think I could go with such a bold color wheel. I’m pretty simple when it comes to wheel color. Black or gunmetal. I did try gold rpf1’s on my old Wrx back in the day. Liked them, but sold them a month later.
I love your build, and I use your videos as a modding guide for myself. I think what you have done to the car is exactly how these cars should have come from the factory. What size inlet are you using with your Blouch and are you running a 8cm or 10cm hot side? I was thinking of going blouch but with a snow performance meth injection kit(we dont have any E85 close by to where I live). I look forward to seeing where your build evolves!
So clean looking 👌🏽 just did the stage 1+ with the redline carbon fiber intake yesterday on mine. Gonna look into getting the e-tune soon to get it just right. Yours was the inspiration 😁🔥
My favorite STi in RUclips! Every single mod so nice.. where do you live? 😆😉 j/k.. Keep up the great work and make sure you live it always garaged. Here in South FL, car theft is to the roof..
I can’t wait to build my car, I have a motor going to smeedia probably to get a motor built to 600-800 wheel, but my current motor is built to handle 450, just need a few things to get it up there. I do get the flex fuel issue, I don’t have flex fuel by me or even close. I can’t get enough of that exhaust noise though🥵
Drive it stock as long as possible. Once you get a good feel for the car, you’ll know what you’ll want to upgrade. Small cosmetic stuff usually satisfies the need to modify and make it your own.
I just got a 21 STI back in December and been really curious about getting it tuned. I know it will void my warranty but I am trying to get rid of that rev hang from 1st to 2nd. Is there anything to help with that without voiding warranty? Any other possible parts that don’t void warranty but give small power gains? New to the Subi world so im trying to absorb all possible info.
STIs are hard to shift perfectly because of how the drivetrain behaves. I had the same problem with my ‘11 STI but I learned to get rid of the weird laggy feeling when shifting into 2nd. Basically, clutch in, off gas, shift rapidly, off clutch rapdly and then gas. Thats how I did it. As for the possible mods, get a catback exhaust, F1 Style 3rd Brake Light, New Wheels, Better Tires, Short throw shifter, etc. Go watch Smeedia’s channel, plenty of info there
Can’t wait too see the results! One question though, how are getting tuned for flex fuel since the Cobb situation? I really wanted to go e85, especially since I have a gas station near me luckily
Hey bro, I am running the AWE track edition catback and love the tone, but I want to go little bit louder, what Downpipe would you recommend to go with the AWE Track?
@@Autofreakgarage catted? Have you had that combination before? I know you have tried a lot of different exhaust set ups, been watching a lot of your videos but dont remember
My temps stay low and cool. Never have any issues with it. Even this past week when it’s been in the 90’s and 100% humidity. Yes, definitely worth it if you are modified.
That must be one high reading dyno or something? Isn't the dom 1.5 only rated for 480 crank hp? Those numbers seem quite inflated especially considering you`re still on pump gas. Still looks like a blast to drive regardless
@@Autofreakgarage I can't fathom that. With only 18 psi that leaves a lot of headroom to make more too. Maybe the blouch turbo hp ratings are very underrated or the dyno calibration was off? I personally have never seen a blouch 1.5 hit over 400 on pump before. If those are true mustang dyno numbers then I am very impressed haha

Damn, 413 on stock internals is very impressive. Gives me hope for reliability… I’m at 364 398tq…… stock turbo and 92oct tune.

It’s gorgeous ❤
Will you be going to boxer fest?
I won’t be making it this year

Not maxed with some headroom if needed. Around 85-90.

Sub 100. Usually around 95-97 when driving
