    The Tech 3 Enduro boots from Alpinestars build off the success of the MX-styled Tech 3 by adding a grippy sole for even more control when riding technical enduro trails or off the bike walking around. Featuring a bio-mechanical medial blade system for great flex and increased ankle support and an injected TPU shin plate and medial protector panel for support and impact resistance.

    Just got the mx version and this boot is super comfortable and i have to wear a ankle brace due to previous ankle injuries.

    Dealer threw these in when I bought my bike in July, if it's your first bike or it's absolutely all you can afford then they will do but I can fold these over every which way and when leaning forward they would pinch/bind on my ankle if I strapped them down too tight. So it was either not strap them down for comfort or strap them down and deal with the pain all ride. Once I had the money after buying a bike and all the gear I went out and bought some Gaerne G12's which isn't a fair comparison so I won't compare them but you do get what you pay for. I suffered through 7 engine hours with the Alpinestars Tech3's and have been in heaven (for my feet and riding) the last 20hrs with the G12's, this all in the last 2 months.

      @@NCtrailX Used the tech 3s all last season and they are good to go in my opinion. Flexible enough to work the shifter and stiff enough to keep my foot from bending when riding through deeper ruts/ single track.

    Really does seem like all you need, for someone that doesn't ride at a high level. I like that it has a pivot point, even though it uses a blade, instead of a true pivot point. Either way, it should loosen up the ankle a bit, which I see as a good thing. One thing that I've been wondering about lately, is that the replaceable part of the sole is basically the arch of the foot. But you're supposed to ride on the balls of your feet. Hmm.

    • @claireelliot6846
      @claireelliot6846 5 лет назад +1

      probably for kickstarting.

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  5 лет назад

      kickstarting is a big factor but, although we all try, most riders wear out the arch much faster than the toe area.

    • @Wasps76
      @Wasps76 4 года назад +1

      I always wear the front of my soles out first, so the replacement section means nothing to me.

    Gotta ask out of curiosity; what would you pick, these or the Fox 180s? I just got the 180s (thank you to the guys at your website for guidance btw) and I think they are superbly comfortable even for walking, and I think they're similarly priced.

    • @rmatvmc

      @rmatvmc  8 месяцев назад +1

      If you're looking for a boot in the $200 range, I think you'd should try a pair of the Leatt 4.5s that we have on clearance right now for $199. I've ridden in that boot and I really like it. As for the Tech 3 vs the RMX, I haven't ridden in either so I can't give much feedback there. I'd probably go with the Astars just because I know how comfortable their boots are and the buckle design is good. - Chase

    So many companies make microfibre boots but none make gloves of the same material. As a vegan I would love to get a pair of really good microfibre or Lorica material gauntlet gloves but sadly no options at the moment.
    Hopefully companies think about it.

    Tech 3 boots are okay, but not great - they bend sideways and forward far too easily. I will be upgrading soon.
