'Astronaughty' Optimized (Farmer Early Strats)

  • This run was something I had been going on and off on uploading, and instead re-do it. But after watching it again, it wasn't as bad I thought it was and figured it was okay enough to upload for this edition of 'Farmer Early Special Assignments Optimized'
    This makes use of farmer early strats found by LCP2979: • LEGO City Undercover -...
    The first room is mostly me triple jumping up to the computers and four guards, this can be done without the farmer but it is a bit more luck-based.
    That's becuase it uses a glitch where you get hit by an opponent and change outfits while getting hit to gain momentum, hit an object at the right spot and get propelled upwards. The luck part of it comes where you are positioned, and the postion of the guards when getting hit; as both can impact the direction of where you get hit. Something I used on the top level of the control room to finish it faster, it took a few tries to get properly.
    In the spaceship hanger, that fastest path with farmer early is to triple jump up from the starting bunker, and use the glitch described earlier to launch up to the button to release the L.E.R.V. (Moon buggy). I didn't do it as I can't get it consistently enough for me to show it. Unlike the top level Control Room one, which works more often than not for me.
    I instead did a different strat in which I get the laser reflectors painted beforing turning on the lasers themselves. Something only possible with the farmer early. I then do a chicken glide after taking the elevator so that I don't have to spend time walking around the scaffulting the long way, and getting the key card.

    Very cool strats! Although Farmer Early might be one of the most infamous Speedrun glitches in LEGO city undercover.
    Tips: enemy launches depend on changing your character at the right time, the faster you change your character, the more you get teleported and launch. So if you change characters on frame 1, you get the best launches

      Okay, interesting to know about the NPC launches. Farmer early is pretty controversial right now, but I'll see if I can utilize it in a any% run.

    I see why you didn't do the last room launch now, I just lost a 4:3X pace all chapters run to it :/. I think that if a setup to get a good punch is found (which is pretty likely), then it will just come down to getting a pause buffer which is very consistent with practice. It is definitely worth looking into considering the timesave.

    So it looks like rocket room launch would save the ~2:50 with farmer early. I think it would save ~3m without
