I just came across this video, still holds true, I found it absolutely interesting and inspiring. I have a walking pad and am a firm believer in movement. Thank you it has made me feel like I’m doing the right thing. Even today people think its weird even having a stand up desk let alone a walking pad!! 😊
I just wanted to say thank you for this talk. I wish more people would see this video. I hope I can do the same as you do. I feel like I need to move more every day. This will finally make it possible for me. Thanks!
Standing still - kills my joints, so I dance. Sitting - kills my back even faster, plus I become sleepy very quickly. So every evening I am waiting for the next day morning, when joints will not yet painful, and I could continue my journey. It makes me more productive, I do not waste time, my metabolism increase, I sleep better etc.
Thank you for sharing this.... my stand up desk is arriving and now just need to get a treadmill.... Please do a TED TALK this will be excellent.... Wfh is great but health has not good because if it... this will really help, so excited that this is happening....
this sounds perfect! I have an autoimmune issue with my joints and desk life is killing me. I tried a standing desk and it made certain things for certain joints worse. I need a low impact sport I can do while doing certain jobs so I can stay in motion. And let's be honest: most of us aren't typing or doing a work jobs that require all of our attention all day long. There are so many parts of my day where I could afford to be walking at the same time...yay!
I am an online teacher, I am sitting at my desk teaching all day, mostly 8, sometimes 10 hours per day. This job needs my full attention all day long. I have to talk to my students and parallely, I need to type some of their answers in the chat or on the sheet. I ask myself if it would be possible to type while walking and talking to the students. Multitasking... Thus, I need to walk very slowly.
@@nickis.artworld9557 i just wanted to let you know: i bought a standing desk and treadmill and was able to work and have online meetings while using them. I am a graphic designer and I could do very delicate pixel perfect design work as well as type within days. Just make sure you have an adjustable desk or you will find it hard. It is totally doable, just start out slow! 👍🏽
@UCWjmyyVmr3LEJt1yUR78rfg problem with walking on the treadmill is RSI. The ankle joint In normal walking is constantly changing so not an issue. Sadly I have bought a treadmill and now can’t use it for this reason. Was great until the pain started.
you're out of shape. You need to push through for a couple of weeks to get the robustness in your body top handle the miles. Build up. progressive overload.
For serious typing or editing? Nah. Not gonna work. Concentration problem. But for watching video/clip, anything that doesn't need our brain to think so much? Yeah, that could work.

I can walk 40 miles a day!! This is amazing!
Highly doubt that
I ordered this set up this week - so pumped to not be sitting all damn day!
How is your set up now? Hope you are in a routine and getting loads of steps. I am currently waiting for my walking pad to come in the post :)

You mean TED WALK?
Wish my desk was like this in school. Holy shit i fucking HATED sitting at school all day...
If you can, raise the height of the monitors by a bit so they are head level!
Exactly what I was thinking
Great interview. I have just ordered an under desk treadmill.
I just order a treadmill to my standing desk. THANKS. I really feel that I'm dying all day sitting or stand but without move.
We all learned to type on our phones while walking, so why not at a standing desk.
What brand of treadmill is this? So many brands have mixed reviews, and yours seems to work well and get a lot of use.
He can carry on a conversation at the speed he is walking and that is a big indicator of ones ability to go fast or slower..

@@lynnemarie7885 Thank you very much. This sounds encouraging and hopeful.
Now I'm buying this!
I tried a standing desk but I just couldn’t concentrate for some reason. Just felt exhausted. Any ideas for why.

you are weak. Eat more meat, less soy
Don't stand for a whole day. Start with standing for a bit and slowly build up. Even then you don't need to stand a whole workday to get benefits.
@@memyselfandI90001 Don't spread bullshit. Nothing wrong with soy.
Is this treadmill available in Canada? I really like the small footprint, but it appears to be quite powerful and fairly quiet.
Where to get this treadmill?
I'm on my first day using a treadmill at my desk, but I'm having trouble with mouse accuracy, any advice?
hmnm... how about using the trackpad instead ?
what happens when you are done? can you easily move the treadmill away?
Either move the treadmill out of the way or place a stool on the treadmill.
Why is he going that fast? Impossible to work on that pace, geeez , should be around 2 , 2,5 , those tradmills is just so you can get moving
This is a sales pitch and not a review.
lol the sales pitch worked
Thank you Mr Obvious. Now. . . show us how you're making the world a better place. We'll wait

It depends. Some people can meditate and think more deeply while walking.
I'm 6ft, looking to buy a under desk treadmill that does allow for 12kph running if needed and no belt friction issues.
