  • Hello Friends of Sparrows End,
Below you will find some links to things that might interest you. As you might expect some are affiliate links which means I get a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking on the link. I will only ever link to items you see me using in my videos.
You can now Buy Me a Coffee or rather a cup of tea because that’s what I drink while I’m in the garden! I’ve set a goal of £10 to buy some bulbs to plant this autumn in the cottage garden and at the allotment. I’m currently missing snowdrops and would love to add them for a touch of early colour next year. A huge thank you to anyone who supports me achieving this goal and you will see me choosing and planting them out in a future video x

Thank you! And yes, I should definitely focus on the positive uses of dandelions when they spring up! Have you seen my latest video with an update of how the allotment looks now. It’s slow progress but I’m gradually getting on top of it 👩🏻‍🌾😁

I took over an allotment a few years ago and it was waist height in grass, if you are dedicated in having an allotment stick with it, there is nothing better than home grown veg, my profile pic is a small pic of what ive done with it,

Your doing well, just do bit by bit, don't overwhelm yourself. I have half plot... No car too either... Also have spinal cord issue... I have a lockbox for tools/heavy equipment some places do deliver to allotment. Instead of growing potatoes in ground find big large tubs (wilko brilliant) some tubs have back opening to reach potatoes with ease when harvest ready... Saves land space too... Keep adding to your you tube diary and ignore the negative people... If having rough motivation day or a I'm in pain day (I get them too!) look back on old clips to remind yourself of the progress made! I'm doing photographic scap book.... Best of luck!

Looking good. Don't put fertilizer on your potatoes as it make them prone to scab. Mulch with straw or regular soil.

Looking good so far, no-dig is a good way to suppress and kill weeds, grass, etc. On my plot (my wife's plot ) just dug over and covered most with thick woven weed membrane and burned holes in to plant veg through. Must say it works a treat as it has cut de-weeding down to once every two to three weeks and only takes 90mins to do an area of 10m x 10m. All the best for this year.
