What amazes me is she can play a song like this and nail it - and also has covered Black Sabbath REALLY well - mix of talent, chutzpah, and just a damn fine ear for how to make it sound right.
I appreciate what she's doing now, with the big band and horn section, but this is the Samantha Fish I fell in love with... With her guitar in bare feet with bass and drums. Pure and simple. She's Amazing.
She reminds me, as she's performing, of the old bluesmen... She can take off notes, missed bars and flaws and turn them all into pure untouchable perfection. She's got that Joe Cocker thing going for her.... I wanna converse with her. I wanna feel what its like to be near her.
As an amateur guitarist I am blown away by the way she is moving the sound with volume control, plectrum and fingers - genius level musicianship. And then the voice!! Just perfect for the track.
I have seen her four times so far including a gig in Birmingham, the home of Black Sabbath, when she did War Pigs as the encore. I have a signed album and a couple of signed "picks" all of which will go on the wall of the new music room once I get the removal boxes unpacked.
Stick to plectrum because pick is what you do to your nose and not a geetar. Also, don't sell yourself short as a guitarist, man. If you know the technique then you could probably do some version of it. Sort of like playing 'like Jimi. I don't want to play like him, I want to play like me.
I'm 57 just started listening to this young lady,DAM! what a talent. How is she not on the radio?Oh that's right, you have to have a gimmick and be in bed with Clearchannel or some other conglomerate. At least it restores my faith that there is some real talent coming up.
She performs some songs as if she's soft and vulnerable, and she attacks the song with pure feelings. sometimes it looks as if she's gonna cry... It is so enjoyable for me to watch her as she sings... Love her
1 minute in and my eyes are full of tears. To sing like this at only 25 years of age!!?? Unbelievable! Samantha is in the same league as Joplin, with excellent guitars skills on top of it. She should have had much louder applause, imo.
She sings with feeling and passion and that is what makes her special she pours her heart and soul into every performance and that is why she is untouchable live!! I just love her as an artist she is so outstanding!!
I hope this band stays together, and enjoys continuing success... a fantasticly talented trio. And a dream come true for me: I've been hoping for so long for a new great blues/hard rock band to emerge. Samantha Fish Band may just be it.
"And a dream come true for me: I've been hoping for so long for a new great blues/hard rock band to emerge." Me too. Samantha's time has definitely arrived.
Jimi, Janis & B.B. rolled into one. Always been a Stones song I have liked... Sam's rendition is just absolutely wonderful! Her 'feel' for the guitar is glorious.
Steaming HOT FISH back then...even HOTTER now! One of the BEST FEMALE Blues Guitarists EVER! Got tickets to see her soon live in concert. CAN'T WAIT! "Hooked" ...and now a fan for life!
Amancu- to put another way- It's the imperfections that make her perfect. (I think it was a Robin Williams line in one of his movies- possibly Good Will Hunting??)
10 years later, she keeps getting better, deeper, grittier every day. Samantha has the voice and talent on guitar to make everything she does be the baddest, deepest blues you ever heard. Just chills.
she is more then great on this song I also got emotional ad teary eyed when I watch this she sings right through her heart... she is truly blues ....thanks for this babe...because of you I recently added this to our classic rock bands set list we just played it first time live at my parents53rd anervercery party....
The Gods took all the DNA from all the Greats, Jimi, Stevie Ray, Keith, Joe Walsh, Bonnie Raitt, Chuck, Light'in Hopkins, Hooker, Muddy etc, etc, etc, all the Blues Men & Women, and gave it to Sanmantha Fish, and made not a great, not a king, not a queen, not a princess, BUT A GOD You go Girl ! I am beyond impressed. Love all your stuff.
" Though shalt not put any other "GOD" : before him". - But she has the power to bring me to tear's, while i laugh, and cry. Stay pure Samantha, as long as you are allowed to live and breath. Somebody touched her, i pray it's the right guy! - Peace & Comfort....................................
I Am at awe, I was privileged to see Sam at jazz in the park 2015. I'm am a lover of her music. Simply samantha fish is AWESOME. And that isn't saying much.
reminds me a bit of Robin Rogers, I had a blues band for years and we got a last minute call to open for her in Charlotte. It was a special night for us to share the stage with such a fine lady...RIP my sister
When i first came across this a few months ago, I hesitated about watching it. I was afraid she might butcher one of my favorite songs. I'm glad I watched it, because she nailed it. I have watched this several times now, Thanks for posting.
The more I listen to this copy of the Stones tune the more I love it. Sam's interpretation on it is really incredible and imotional. Sam is such a huge talent I hope the world finally recognizes her as the great artist that she is!
+Mike Mccoy The Stones didn't do "a pretty good version", they wrote it!!! If you are the songwriter, it is not a "version" (version of what!!!), it is the original.
+manfromelpaso and +Mike Mccoy: Mike is right; Jagger and Richards wrote it, but The Flying Burrito Brothers recorded what must be called the original.
Just blows one away everytime..and the crazy thing is, when I seen her back them, about 7 months from this performance, they even did it better live..so if you have the chance, catch her shows, they are simply outstanding live!
Very soulful version - Keith, give a look to this lady, who dares to bring over this song into the next century. She does it very well. Hats off, Samantha. Carry on.
Your voice and your playing aRE EXQUISITE. You are in touch with feeling that allows you to be magical. Love it. May you always have the guitar you want and need for the dearest songs you perform.
Samantha I love to hear you sing . You have one of those unique voices and phrasing that makes me believe everything your singing about and that's an awesome talent!
Bound for Big things! Great talent vocally and lead guitar. Met the bass player and drummer at Canton Blues Fest. Cool down to earth guys and great players. Been a big fan ever since.
She puts herself into her songs, she got soul.
That woman has so much soul she just doesn´t have enough room to hold it all in.
Well written truly a great MEANINGFULL perfomance
My God you made this old man cry...What a talent you've got child..
What amazes me is she can play a song like this and nail it - and also has covered Black Sabbath REALLY well - mix of talent, chutzpah, and just a damn fine ear for how to make it sound right.
Oh yeah. She's made the tears flow many a time. Sweet release.
I appreciate what she's doing now, with the big band and horn section, but this is the Samantha Fish I fell in love with... With her guitar in bare feet with bass and drums. Pure and simple. She's Amazing.
The girl plays live. No recorded or dubbed crap here. Talent in abundance. Great version of this great song. Love Samantha Fish and her combo.
I am 75 years old and God I( love this!
Samantha does this The Best!
Great Cover! Loved it.
She reminds me, as she's performing, of the old bluesmen... She can take off notes, missed bars and flaws and turn them all into pure untouchable perfection. She's got that Joe Cocker thing going for her.... I wanna converse with her. I wanna feel what its like to be near her.

Dangnabbit
Plectrum is just a fancy way of saying pick. Hahahahaha
I am old school. What can I say?
@Dangnabbit You have to see her live! Going to see her March 8th! 4th time seeing her! Got a picture taken with her, and an autographed CD in 2019! 😎✌
I have seen her four times so far including a gig in Birmingham, the home of Black Sabbath, when she did War Pigs as the encore. I have a signed album and a couple of signed "picks" all of which will go on the wall of the new music room once I get the removal boxes unpacked.

If you watch new videos of her ,you realize she's the real deal!!! She gets even better as a musician and vocalist!👏👏👏👏👏👏
I'm 57 just started listening to this young lady,DAM! what a talent. How is she not on the radio?Oh that's right, you have to have a gimmick and be in bed with Clearchannel or some other conglomerate. At least it restores my faith that there is some real talent coming up.
Because radio doesn't play music anymore - they play shit from plastic , corp made performers
She can't be beat. The Best Blueswoman.
When she sings "wild Horses" it tears my soul somewhere and pulls it to my throat just makes my hair stand on end.
I couldn't like this amazing woman anymore. She pours out talent from every pore. I listen to this song more than once a week.
I had a tear in my eye when I heard this. A beautiful rendition of a Stones classic by a beautiful, talented young lady.
My favourite singer fantastic voice great version of stone's classic have all her album's she's brilliant

I love you samantha, thaks for your talent
And i love you too Diego
Beautiful song, Beautiful Samantha Fish.
Shallow people are every where. Talent is hard to come by and she has it.
I think women who say size doesn't matter, are shallow.
Stewart Francis.
I like this version of Wild Horses. Samantha is gorgeous 😲
She performs some songs as if she's soft and vulnerable, and she attacks the song with pure feelings. sometimes it looks as if she's gonna cry... It is so enjoyable for me to watch her as she sings... Love her
dannysfreind word
In other words , Samantha sings and plays every song as if it's going to be her last ,,,,
When the Blues are in you, it is going to come out!
J écoute ce titre depuis...au moins 30 ans.
La meilleure reprise jamais entendue !!!
So much feeling. So much, so much love in your beautiful passion.
Such a talented beautiful young lady. I love the heart and soul she puts into her music. I hope you go far Samantha.
This is so good it should be illegal. She makes me cry. It seems almost perfect.
Truth.

She's so awesome
How could anyone not like this?
if you are a Bieber fan. or maybe a Eminem fan.
Maybe they just hate music.
ive watched this like 10 times already. makes me cry every time.

Me too. Samantha's time has definitely arrived.
Jimi, Janis & B.B. rolled into one. Always been a Stones song I have liked... Sam's rendition is just absolutely wonderful! Her 'feel' for the guitar is glorious.
She plays like SRV, she lets the music breathe.
Only found this lady today, will be following from now on
Steaming HOT FISH back then...even HOTTER now! One of the BEST FEMALE Blues Guitarists EVER! Got tickets to see her soon live in concert. CAN'T WAIT! "Hooked" ...and now a fan for life!
She is just 40 years younger than me ! and I'm proud to be one of the first french fans ! she is truely wonderful
❤Another song to put back in the menu.❤
As always, done with just enough restraint to keep the soul of this song at maximum tension.
One of the best voices I've heard in years. Her guitar work is damn good too.
This is one of the most original interpretations of this song out there. She should record it. Most soulful version.
i agree. the stones have been irrelevant for 30 years. she breathes life into this song.
fuck off
Love this song love the way she sings it too
when she sings, she is not perfect. when she plays, she is also not perfect. That's why I love her !!
it's all about feeling.
Yes... Perfection is boring! She's heartfelt.
and that's a key part of her oh so intense perfection. She is totally at ease with the message of power she is transmitting.
i get the goosebumps all the same
Amancu- to put another way- It's the imperfections that make her perfect. (I think it was a Robin Williams line in one of his movies- possibly Good Will Hunting??)
Either way I agree with you. Love the raw emotion she has.
My favorite rendition, I didn't think the song could be improved on but she showed us otherwise!
I've alway loved this song. the lyrics are esp powerful, her delivery is the only one that can hit me this hard. amazing artist.
10 years later, she keeps getting better, deeper, grittier every day. Samantha has the voice and talent on guitar to make everything she does be the baddest, deepest blues you ever heard. Just chills.
Her guitar tone is pretty incredible

Don't get it twisted, SRV is special.

She is the real deal. She can take any song and make it her own,
pure heart and soul

She is so amazing. Thank you so much for blessing us all with your talents.
Bound for Big things! Great talent vocally and lead guitar. Met the bass player and drummer at Canton Blues Fest. Cool down to earth guys and great players. Been a big fan ever since.
The first cover I ever heard of this was by Devon Allman and he did a great job--this is right up there with his version. Very, very nice.

Just amazing .....saw her at the Chenango Blues Fest and I had chills running down my spine. Sam rocks!
