Right on Mr Cates! I too am old, and between the Fish sister's, Danielle Nicole and Heather Newman, The blues ARE being passed down to younger generations. We've been noticing more and more younger people at Blue's events and it is VERY exciting to see them mesmerized, by Real music
I agree with you completely as I am 64 and I am amazed by her youthful talent and her old soul. Such a supremely talented Guitar Goddess and so Breathtakingly Beautiful. She is The Complete Package!🤗😘
Mr. Cates, you said exactly what I was thinking. She is one of those players that really feels what she is playing and listening to her I go through the entire emotional spectrum. The only other singer to do that for me was Robert Cray (I get the same vibe when she was flat picking through this song!). I just turned 50 and have been following the blues scene for a while now….the new players coming through is very exciting, the future is in some very safe hands!
I am 67 and I totally agree! Incredibly , I never heard of Samantha Fox before. The world is the loser when talent like this remains hidden! Incidentally the original rendition of this song by Teri Taunton has always been a favourite of mine! Respect!
@@andygorman858 Stevie Ray Vaughan felt everything he played, his guitar was just an extension of his body and soul. Samantha started out playing drums then saw SRV and switched to the guitar. That interview is here on RUclips somewhere.

I love listening to her over and over. I am glad she isn't tainted by the mainstream. She is tooo good for that. Yet I am baffled that she isn't more well known. She is on my top 10!

Really a sterling example that shows her coming into her own, as she's learned to let the other instruments do the talking, before adding at first quiet but meaningful guitar, and then launching into her blistering solo work. Not that she didn't before, just she has assembled a talented pack of musicians, who play with feeling and soul. If you haven't already people, go see them, it is so much amazing in person!

Because she has talent and the morons who put on the shows wouldn't recognise talent if it bit them on the nose
Where would they ever put her?? The insane music for "today" only proves that there is no skill, no talent and absolutely no purpose. Artist's like Sam Are Keeping music Relevant. Each and every time we see her, we are always surprised by how many young people keep showing up, right alongside us "elders", and this is such a good thing!

I've been watching this lady for a few years now and she impressed me from the start with the cigar box ,then her take on i put spell on you was EPIC and now this .
Man ,for me this is the hat trick and proves Samantha is the real deal.

She is originally from Kansas City MO, but as of this moment, she is currently in New Orleans. She comes home once or twice or more every year. I know she has a dedicated website, and you could most likely reach out to Knuckleheads Saloon in Kansas City as well. They are very close to her daddy and might be able to point you in the right direction. Her sister is Amanda Fish and she is vocally Outstanding!
I've been to over a hundred concerts in my lifetime and this is one of the best performances I've ever seen

Isn't that the best?! Chrissie Hynde put her pick in my hand in the 80's, and so many people were fighting for it, but she didn't let go in until she knew I had it! I gave her roses, which she threw to Martin Chambers, and he put one in his mouth. 👍🏼💖

She is amazing, but her albums sounds way worst that live performances. She should get some some proper producer. One well produced album can put her on top charts. Danger Mouse for example knows how to make something that sells, ask The Black Keys;)

First I've heard MS Fish was last week at Telluride Blues and Brews Festival. I'm an avid live music fan and I see 50 Artists a year. A performer who owns the room, has the passionate soaring voice who also wails on a guitar at a world class level is rare and she is that complete package. Go see her perform!

Samantha I love you and have been following you for a long time, but to me this is really the type of music I love to hear you sing. The blues to me are slower tempo, crying, story telling. I love watching tell the story of a song , watching the emotion on your face and then having those moments of show casing the instrumental talents. You can play the hell out of a guitar.
