- In this video we tackle replacing a clutch cable on a HondaCBR250R. Although the process for other bikes may differ, Ive found that they are more similar than different. Replacing you own clutch cable will only cost you $10 -$20 and about 30 min of your time vs paying someone else $80-$100. Its a simple non technical job that should be a piece of cake, even for the non mechanically inclined.
For the Honda CBR250r you will need:
Replacement cable OEM Part# 22870-KYJ-900
-12mm open end wrench
-15mm open end wrench
Wire lubricant (possibly)
Very Informative bro only things missing is the rubber cover on it.
Thanks for the video, my workshop for the checkup service wanted 210$ for this 10 min work, just ordered the cable for 10 bucks.
Awesome ! yeah, im surprised how easy it was. Got upset that I paid more than 10 bucks to get it installed the first time.
Thanks a lot sir…!!! Replaced my clutch cable easily with the help of this video….!!
AWESOME ! im glad it was helpful
Thanks for this - nice and easy!
Glad it was helpful!
Hey is it possible for me to just feed the actual wire through instead of swapping the whole cable?
Thanks, I am going to try this out 2 weeks from now when my Clutch cable arrives in the mail. i will report back to let you know how it goes :)
This went well. I did it a little differently. Also, I noticed my 2012 cbr250r has a clip that holds the cable in place. I am not sure if the clip is missing on your bike or if its just covered up. Other than that the directions were great. Also, I took a picture as well but decided to use a ruler to measure the centimeters so everything went back into the same settings. Worked very well thank you
No problem ! glad I could help. I didnt notice any clips for the cable. They could have been missing, but I never had an issue,
Straight forward :) thanks man!
no problem ! thank you for watching.
Did the new one last or did it prematurely teared again? I'm at the point of changing my newly torn cable and I have the feeling that the fine tuning nuts are kinda sharp edged and will do this again. How was yours?
Mine seemed fine after the 2nd change. If the fine tuning nuts are a bit sharp you might want to look into something to smooth them out because that can definitely be an issue. But I cant say about mine.... I was hit and totaled the little CBR. but for the few months it was alive it was good. I checked it on a weekly bases and all looked good. Hope that helps !
@@theproject6155 sorry to hear that, hope you are ok. yes i tried removing the sharp edges and also put grease on that end to prevent unwanted friction. thanks!
i cant get any in this fkning country, do you know if other models fit it?
POW!!! It got dark FAST!!!
that it did haha
thanks for sharing
:)
thank you for watching !
It doesn't work for a honda rebel cmx 250 c. It's got like 1 to almost 2 inches and you can't get the slack out
That's a shame. The rebel should be alot easier since it has no fairings. Companies have been over complicating the simpler bikes lately.
perfect
Thanks !!
