3:08 this part is really insane. Imagine you're armed with guns in a fight with a single satan and this part of this song starts plays as *the world sings for you*
Gave me the chills! Fear Factory is one of my favorite bands ever and this is easily the best cover of this song I've ever heard, bar none! You guys, sincerely, did an awesome job covering this track. You've won yourself another fan, for sure! Keep up the good work!
Excellent cover of a great song from a masterpiece album. Fear Factory has always seemed like an obvious influence when I listed to Mechina's albums, this is a really cool listen.
I was genuinely surprised by this song. I am a long time Fear Factory fan, Zero Signal was the first song i ever heard from the band, and to this day, is still my favorite song from them. That said, i hold very high standards when it comes to covers or alternate versions of this song and i was not disappointed when i came across this gem of a cover. Very well done, i feel like someone who just saw the first motorcycle i fell in love with, restored and given a much appreciated (but not needed) tune up and polish. Thank you for this cover :)
Zero Signal was first? Let me guess - Mortal Kombat? That was it for me. That soundtrack introduced my hormonal teenage brain to many of my favorite bands.
Fucking solid cover guys!!! Been a fan of yours ever since a friend of mine introduced me to your music. Fear Factory has been my favorite band since about 1997 or so, when i was in sixth grade and played Test Drive 5 for PS1 all the time which featured a few FF songs in the soundtrack. Keep up the excellent work!
im laughing at all the people complaining about the autotuned vocals. what, you think burton doesnt use pitch correction? have you never heard him live? the style of usage is totally different, but this is mechina's style. its *supposed* to sound like that to give a more mechanical/spacey sound to it. they could use a more natural pitch correction if they wanted (and needed) but they choose not to. whereas while burton may use a more natural sound, he definitely *needs* the correction.
Burton doesn't use it for everything. He used it less back in Demanufacture/Obsolete days. You are correct he's having to rely on it more lately after 20+ years of ripping his vocals up.
Man, I love Fear Factory, but anyone who thinks Burton's voice isn't chock full of effects is deaf and crazy. In fact, the autotuning makes it sound more mechanical, which is exactly why it fits so well in both versions.
I'm of the opinion that the more "machine-like" the music sounds, the more it fits Fear Factory. That's how a lot of the riffs are written. That's how a lot of the drums are written. Your vocals are not only fine, but I love 'em. Keep it up, dudes.
i hold this track up to a gold standard of excellence, and i gotta say, this cover ain't bad. perhaps it's an answer to the robotic/machine age as envisioned popularly by the matrix, and by fear factory themselves in the album "Genexus" the clean vocals are very robotic, and perhaps this cover is a "machine" answer to the original track, which is clearly human in nature. maybe? maybe not. that's my interpretation. after all, all beings in the universe will at some point become lost.
You have a point there but here's the thing the original is always the best and what I say is this band step it up a notch and they did put out the park but it matches with the original for the original is always better sorry Fear Factory for life
🧡since i know mechina, i have always seen in them a certain fear factory second evolution advancing with his almost identical growl and his singing similar to burton the chorus clean voice of mechina often reminds me of him. mechina clearly more évluer and symphonic industrial, after demanufacture, fear factory is lost a little, mechina I find that it has traces of demanufacture at times or if a source of inspiration, except for the text which does not speak about the same subject 🙂
The Drums were on point! I would have loved a little more snap and room tone on the snare. Vocals were kind of boring except the phrase "beyond belief" (which was perfect) during the chorus and he didn't match the pitch during gutteral sections leaving the verses kind of lacking. I'm missing the pent up aggression. It sounds too matter of fact, like mechanical but simply executed; late in places and sloppy sounding. Piano was perfect but I could have used more in the mix at the end. Midi during the breakdown was an INCREDIBLE addition to this mix 3:08. 4:38 Guitar goes into what I call "shredder mode" and it is FILTHY, just FILTHY, like Bloodbath - Breeding Death. 5:01 Midi trumpet is reminiscent of Contagion (3:58) with a cicada-like quality that really brings the warmth. SFX at the beginning were amazing however the ambient chorus at 0:43 seconds is perfect then the fader is yanked and slowly put back up until it's completely muted at 0:48~ seconds and my the illusion was defeated at this time. The additional SFX and background chanting was sick.
This track musically is more optimistic than FF "Zero Signal" thats my opinion , listening this track You can see a light in the tunnel for mankind :-)
i also like mechinas vocals way more. i cant take others seriously they always just sound rediculous like their trying to hard and it ruins the whole song for me. but mechina has managed to mix everything together in a way that doesnt drown out anything in the process.
I found Mechina first, and they're my favorite band... but try as I might, I just don't get Fear Factory. I don't really like the original of this song. Nothing against them, but I just feel like something's lacking. Anyone got any suggestions that might change my mind?
while fear factory created that style, obviously something from the 90s will have less elements than a contemporary version that aims to include everything from the original and more, also the synths fear factory used were the 90s vision of what an automated, robotic future sounds like, while those in the mechina version and later fear factory albums are today"s vision of the sounds of the future quite generally music production has tended towards more intensity, and except for the ever dumber party and radio music also towards more dramatic elements, more that catches the ear
Oh yeah, I get that. I've tried their older and newer albums though... neither grabs me the same way Mechina does. I appreciate industrial sound, I really do... I'm not sure why I don't have the same love for FF though.
Fear Factory more focuses on the metal side, so if the other elements are what specifically draw you to Mechina then it"ll be that way as long as your tastes remain that way would recommend trying ID:Vision in that case
There's no accounting for preference, taste or style. I'd say like what ya like and if you're not feeling a band. See em live (if it's the original lineup), then decide
total classic uncensored uncut games of all time Carmageddon. since there is the edited censored cut banned alternate version of that in some countries so it does not matter if it's a patch mod or dlc or just standalone physical or digital release or made.

Long time Fear Factory fan and I thought this was really creative and good! It's slightly different but fun to jam out too!
Same!
venus sacra lol Thank.....you? :P

I'd say it's pretty good but severely lacking mixing and mastering key points, however definitely delivers in parts.
Mechina is such a great band!!!! Wish these guys would tour!!!!

The cures purple haze cover is another good one. Im not normally fond of covers
Zero Signal was first? Let me guess - Mortal Kombat? That was it for me. That soundtrack introduced my hormonal teenage brain to many of my favorite bands.
@@briantownsend9414 yep, made that fight with scorpion extra awsome.
Been a fan of Fear Factory since 95', that was a pretty good homage in my opinion! Going to see them tomorrow night at the Roundhouse in Sydney.
Amazing cover! Retains the classic essence of Fear Factory, while adding in the unique elements of Mechina that we all love.

I love the clean's distorted layering! sounds very electronic!
Covering a classic by one of the most infulential industrial metal bands is not easy, but you did pretty well.
I've been a Fear Factory Fan like forever, FKN loved this cover!! Big thumbs up for you cover!!!
Cheers!!

you have seen ff in the obsolete tour? fuck burton is on fucking tune ever! this shit is like to hear rebbeca black, so dont fuck with me!
burton use reverb and a lot of other post processing
NOT autotune
Are we really sitting here complaining that an INDUSTRIAL band used vocal technology.....You do understand the irony right?
The original is just awesome, but this is really epic)
Guess both versions are pure perfection!
I'm of the opinion that the more "machine-like" the music sounds, the more it fits Fear Factory. That's how a lot of the riffs are written. That's how a lot of the drums are written. Your vocals are not only fine, but I love 'em. Keep it up, dudes.
Pretty good cover, faithful enough for the song to be recognisable and yet adds little lovely extras to the original version. Nice work guys.
that is the most amazing cover ive ever heard
This is incredible! Get yourselves to the UK ASAP!
damn one of my all time favorite songs redone by one of my current generation favorite bands, cool!
That robosynthetic solo in the middle, is a killer!!
20 seconds to go.
Those who are about to die, we salute you!
its time to play MASS EFFECT TRIOLOGY again!! hell yeah!
Amazing Cover!
Perfection!
That... was... epic all the way up to a universal level! Makes me want to start SpaceEngine and zoom around the universe with this song on.
I have very delicate Fear Factory tastes.... but this is an AWESOME cover!!
The way Mechina can do no wrong. Their music takes you all the way to the cosmos.
From 2:06 the best for me moment)
Scorpion approves!
Mechina - Assembly of Tyrants is still the best piece you have put out, nothing else comes close.

After relistening to this a few years later I've come to the same conclusion, even the sound sort of sounds like a reverse of the original.
This is the most AMAZING cover of Zero Signal holy fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu
Awesome job guys!
Omg! This is beyond awesome!
Really great job!!
Not a bad cover at all but it dosen't quite have that feeling of dread to it like the other one did.
Been listening to Fear Factory for a long time and i have to say this is not a bad cover. Different yes but not bad.
Covering the best band of the world is hard... Nobody can play it better then Fear Factory itself...
yes we understand why fear factory the band are the original who sang that kick ass tune.
heavy!! cuando sale el álbum!!!
Forget the naysayers, this blows the original out of the water, way more dynamic now. Keep it up!! Empyrean was beast as well!
You have a point there but here's the thing the original is always the best and what I say is this band step it up a notch and they did put out the park but it matches with the original for the original is always better sorry Fear Factory for life
good work!
Great cover !!!
Wow ! Great cover guys ! \m/
great cover is nice to heard it
One of the best covers I've ever heard.
imagine a carmageddon but futuristic, and this music comes out with only instrumental in it
Couldnt have picked a better band to take over the torch!!!!!

The keyboards are swamping everything with absolutely no regard for the music.
fan since Soul of a New Machine and I have to +2 on the keyboards. A little bit overwhelming.
What about the music videos?? You can make good "cosmic" videos to your amazing songs!

Fuck my brain! It's perfectly!
Wont happen until they are signed to a label.
This is how the Borg cover Fear Factory after they assimilated them.

This track musically is more optimistic than FF "Zero Signal" thats my opinion , listening this track You can see a light in the tunnel for mankind :-)
Don't forget the original song was made back in 1993
@@wishmaster2575 I know :D I got cd's of FF orginal ;)
