This is gorgeous, I think watercolor always adds a touch of dream-like softness to realism that helps it come across more as art than photo. Definitely a beautiful piece of artwork you've created here. I can't wait to see what you do in the future :)
2 hours!!! Thats mind blowing to me. It takes me two hours to do just a very basic none realistic watercolor painting. Definitely gove me goals to look up to.
I AM A BEGINNER AND WISH TO PAINT AS REALISTIC AS YOU DO EMILY! GORGEOUS ATTENTION TO DETAIL...THOSE EYES LOOK AS THOUGH THEY WILL BLINK ANY SECOND! THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME TO SHOW US BEAUTIFUL ARTWORK.
You said this painting took two hours.Truth is if you have been doing art for 30 years. Then this work of art is 30 years of studie and acquired skill plus your talent.Brovo!
Coming from a background of painting in acrylics and oils its amazing to me to see watercolors can have such a detailed painting like that. It looks amazing! thanks for your hard work and detailed paintings! Im subscribing!!
Great tips! While I appreciate the skills and patience required to make something look like a photo, I really prefer my paintings to look like paintings. Still, I strive for realism, and it is SO much harder in watercolor than it is in other mediums.
This painting is sooo amazing! I'm a cat person and enjoyed this very much Emily! love your work and this one is gorgeous! your painting is more beautiful than the original photo because of that dreamy watercolor effect... i always wondered how to paint the whishers and I love your technique :) I would probably use white ink pen ;) Thank you very much for sharing this beauty! 😍💖☺️ Marija
Your control of watercolor is amazing! I know its a spontaneous medium but I still struggle to get it to do at least half of what I'm hoping for when I lay it down.
What? You only spent 2 hours for that paintin? It could take a whole day or more if its me. You're amazing! New subscriber here. Hoping to enjoy more of your videos! God bless!
This is beautiful work! I’m just learning to draw and paint and one thing it’s teaching me is patience, which I’m going to have to learn a lot of to paint realism such as this. I’m glad that I found your channel.
2hrs! Whoa. It’s taken me two hours to just do eyes 😂 how are you so quick? I’m the same with colour pencil. I’m slower than most the other artists. I think i need to do more portraits to get faster
Dear Emily, I'm writing this not as a review, but a deep appreciation for your gift to me, as I am a new artist and I'm trying to pick up information every where I can find it. Well, I'm happy to tell you that I stopped looking when I found your channel!! I'm learning more and more every day, you are such a good teacher, and even more, a beautiful and gifted artist. Thank you, from Montana ♥️
Oh my! This is stunning. You are a beautiful watercolor artist. So happy I found you. I see you have a bunch of videos. Hooray! 🎉 Happy watching for me! ❤️
Excellebt tips, i want to try this for my dog and cat. My dog has brindle and my cat calico..l.but patience is key i guess and masking fluid...i need fo get some of that for sure. Tyvm
I'm considering your art lessons, you are an amazing watercolorists. Do you give traceable outlines for all your tutorials? I'm advanced in watercolor if I have an outline, but my drawing skills are terrible.
Oh Emily, this is flat out gorgeous! You’re an amazing artist. So happy I found your channel. This was a bit hard for me to watch because we had to put our sweet kitty Peaches to sleep this week on Wednesday. She rapidly became ill with pancreatitis and we couldn’t stand to see her suffer. She was the sweetest kitty we ever had, and I’ll miss her everyday. She was 15 years old. Thank you for sharing your talent. Look forward to your other videos. Blessings to you!
Could I send you a picture of my cat. She is very adorable and I would love to do one of her and hang it. My brother is going to move out with her and I would like to keep a picture of her. If you see this how would I message you?
Can you tell me: do you use the textured side or the smooth side? I am new to watercolor and have just discovered your channel. It's been very helpful and you are fabulous! Sharon from Maine
Hi Sharon and thanks for stopping by! You can actually use both sides of the paper if it’s a pro quality cotton (like Arches). There shouldn’t be a difference in texture with mill pressed paper.
2 hours? It would take me two years.
Haha, did you finish it yet? 😂 2 years ago
It's looks like a real cat in a photo, I will try to paint like you this weekend. Thank you for showing us. Cheers Emily
I’m in awe! Having four cats, I appreciate your talent!
