NA Miata - Baby Teeth Removal, Front and Rear Tow Hooks Installed! + bonus update

Today is the day that we yank out our baby teeth, and install front and rear racing tow hooks! Simply removing just the baby teeth offers quite a bit of weight reduction. These new racing tow hooks are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Let me know in the comments below about how you feel about your Miata's baby teeth. Did you keep them in? Yank them out?

Thanks to you I finally removed the right-front-27-year-old babytooth. It was stuck behind the airduct but managed to get a wrench between it. Changed it for a nice Jass Performance tow hook!

Car newb and first time Miata owner here.
The previous owner took out the baby teeth to put an aftermarket grill over the "mouth" of the car.
I prefer the stock look of the Miata, so I watched this video just to find out how the original tow hooks are bolted in before I go out and buy some OEM baby teeth.

Front was hard, back was easy for me.
Bought a normal 14mm wrench. My socket wrench didn't fit.

Yeah man, I saw on Instagram that you had to attack the whole front end. I was surprised that mine weren't more rusted than they were.

Removing the baby teeth is a great mod. But I think those racing tie downs are still pretty much useless... I have read you should never tow from those mounting points.

pongtang3 you’re right. I wouldn’t want to tow the car very far with these. I only have them to pull the car out of a ditch. A real tow truck operator would know the best points to tow the car from.
