- This is footage of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony 2011. Neil Young's speech and the short video on Waits'. This, again, is just a fan wanting to share some of this footage with other fans. I haven't seen any of this posted in any other format. If this is not ok to share I will gladly take it down.

NEIL YOUNG and TOM WAITS,two of my favorite artists and I love em' both❤️.
Tom Waits was the best songwriter of all history!
I absolutely LOVE his music and his sense of humor!
"Songs are just very interesting things to be doing with the air"....pure Tom Waits. A genius, no doubt and an eccentric to be sure, he nonetheless lets us into his world wherein we discover OUR world.
Thanks for posting! As a fan of both Tom Waits and Neil Young, it is a great thing to see!
One of the Best............
"It's like settin' a trap for a song, it's like fishing or anything else. You have to be real quiet to catch the big ones."
Tom is the best
Hes the real deal.
I posted it all in three separate clips. At the time I didn't have the ability to post longer videos....notice this is called "part 1." Others have posted the full thing since, but at the time no one else had this up yet....
I have always found it a little odd that some of the most original and rebellious artists bow down to these ceremonies of authority approval called out by their art. They may have various hesitant speeches but they still show up. It really makes me wonder about the song and the dance.
Why would you post that clip and leave out Waits' hilarious acceptance speech immediately following?
Can I bother you for part 2... your video is loud. An we old folk like it loud... why i gotta struggle finding a respectful video of Tom Waits being inducted to the hall of fame .. oh yea.. i forgot... he had no hits and was hard to work with lol
There should be 3 parts. I think more videos exist now, but when I first posted these I couldn’t find the footage and I didn’t have permission for longer videos, yet.
I refer to him as the Woody Guthrie of our time...there will be no replacement for Tom Waits, that's for sure.
