      We have a D4+ in house but haven't done full testing on it yet. So far, I'm not a big fan of the quality of construction. There is quite a bit of stem wobble, no matter what I do to the stem to try to reduce it. That said, our camera crew actually likes it as a seated camera-vehicle. -Paul

      @@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I'm from Slovakia so some of the scooters you review I cant get here and E25 seems really good but I couldn't find much about how the battery in the stem affects ride quality compared to under deck battery. Yes E45 just has the external battery that extends range and should help in hills and boost top speed a bit. The E45 review would be awesome I think that would cover the riding of E25 as well which is the area I'm most interested in. And after all there is a option to buy external battery to virtually make E45 from E25.

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  3 года назад

      The weight of the battery on the stem definitely shows up when you're walking next to it. If you try to push it up a driveway, the resistance of the front wheel hitting the edge of the driveway will sometimes make it tip forward, which can cause the deck to swing sideways and whack you in the ankle. It's a rare event, but definitely happens. When riding some scooters with stem batteries like the Turbo Ant (Levy), I can feel that the scooter is slightly less stable at high speed because the center of mass is close to the pivot point of the scooter when the scooter leans into a corner. On the E22 I don't feel it as much while riding, but the effect is probably there.

    I’m trying to decide between the e45 and the G30LP and I haven’t been able to find any good comparisons. I can get either for basically the same price right now, but it seems each have their pros and cons. The e45 has a higher advertised range, but I’m worried it won’t be as durable as the G30LP. Any thoughts?

      The ES3? I'd definitely pick the M365 or the E22 over that. The X7 Pro has a smoother ride than any of them and a swappable battery. The M365 is super light and portable. The E22 is great if you don't own tools and you only want to charge it, and ride it. -Paul

    can you mod this, put some bigger tires? and lights on it to ride at night and lights on the back to, does this have a speedometer and battery reader so i know when it is going to die.

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  3 года назад

      Yes, the scooter tells you how much battery is left, and if you have the app, you can get an exact percentage remaining. If you install an external battery from Ninebot, it comes with 4 lights on it, that let you know how much charge is left. The tires it comes with are one of the best things about the scooter, and I definitely wouldn't change them. They're larger than most scooters in it's class, they're flat proof, but they ride like an air fille tire, which is a good trick. It has tail lights and brake lights on the sides, which are also visible from behind, but it wouldn't hurt to add a blinking light on a backpack at night so cars could see you better. The headlights is pretty good as is, and much better than the previous generation scooter. -Paul

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  3 года назад +1

      Yes! On the E22, zero start can be activated in the app by setting "Starting Speed" to 0.0
      Regen is also adjustable through the app with a slider.
      Thanks for the reminder about the phase connectors. I just opened up our E22 (voiding our warranty in the process! :-) and the connectors are completely different than the ones the earlier es-series scooters had. The new ones are a solid barrel on the female side with a sort of serrated, spring-loaded surface all the way around. This design shouldn't lose tension over time.

    The real successor of the ES2 is the E25, not the E22. Since the E25 keeps the front suspension together with the new 9" tires on the E22. It also keeps the ambient lighting of the ES2. It also has additional features that the E22 doesn't have: rear magnetic brakes, more range, faster speed.

    Flashing took me a fcuk all long time, lot of effort and dumb luck.
    Torque was improved.
    That was noticeable and appreciate.
    Wasn't a lot but enough to be happier with the SPORT mode flash.
    I'm 222lbs and.....
    Fully charged, it hits 15, 16 and smattering of 17 (oh there it went).
    But overall, 14-15mph (60% +🔋)
    Once you're under 60%, expect 13mph with a splash of 14.
    Under 50%, solid 13mph.
    Under 40%, 12%
    If it's under 30%, why are you riding it? Just to deplete the battery at 11mph?
    Happily, kick through (ability to physically kick power the scooter stone dead) was respectable.
    *I've been on the Bird Flex and the kick through was 40%...meaning you're fighting through the motor 60% of your energy.
    I carried the charger for the E22, 90% of my trips.
    I didn't want to choose a destination without a return option.
    If you weigh under 200lbs, this scooter might work for you but dollars to donuts (💵 🍩) you're better off adding a few $100's and getting something better.
    ($600? 👎)
    Don't even THINK about the Bird Flex (it Flux!)

    Terrible mileage. Awful default top speed. Tires are CRAP. A very bad choice for ANYONE looking to buy a scooter. Yes, you can add the external battery to get more mileage, but everyone who has experienced that added battery knows that it creates a weight distribution issue (the scooter becomes a lot heavier at the front) and simply adds to the weight and awkwardness of the design. Also, it can lead to connection issues where the battery plugs in and offers an added point of possible theft when you leave your scooter parked outside.
    Do your research and you'll find MUCH better options in the same price range.
    This is a good review as far as information but it needlessly tries create a good review for a scooter that honestly doesn't deserve it. Yes, if you compare it to the hideous crap that is the es2, it's better - but that's not saying much.

      @Joey mcdonald, have you encountered a non-pneumatic tire that performs better than the tires on the E22? I'd love to hear about it! The tires on the E22 are at least twice as good as the next-best non-pneumatic tire I've ever encountered. -Paul

    • @powerpopjoey
      @powerpopjoey 3 года назад

      @@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I'm not saying that they haven't made improvements to their non-pneumatic tires, and I understand how it might be a selling point to someone. It's nice to see the technology improving.
      I'd be interested to know if you tested them on wet streets? One of the key failures of non-pneumatic tires (beyond a less comfortable ride compared to pneumatic tires) is the very serious issue of becoming horribly slick on wet surfaces. If you're going to promote the tires as one of this scooters' best features, why not do a test on wet streets? That's info that I'd like to have.
      Of course there's more to a scooter than tires. I'd actually prefer to deal with POTENTIAL flats and purchase a scooter with much better features than choose a fairly lame scooter because it has non-pneumatic tires. But, that's just my opinion.
      I liked your review, but I think a better comparison to other similarly priced brands might better inform potential buyers.... rather than simply comparing it to its ancient predecessor.
