Of course Great Rafi Saheb is beyond comparison . I am seventy six now , and I have been listening to his songs for the last fifty nine years . I think Rafi's voice became deep and so mature in the sixtees . May be technology had contributed to some extent . But one cannot deny that class is class . Also , great maestros like Noushad , Madan Mohan , Shanker Jaikishan , OPNayyar etc had played big roles in shaping the maturity of Rafi saheb . One can hardly expect such magnificent compositions for the singers of the new generation . Surav's voice also could attain more maturity with age . His voice even now is very sweet , having good resemblance to the great singer's voice and who knows whether he will one day blossom in to the coveted position of the Great Saheb's successor . This is the correct attitude. He has a very good voice and sings perfectly, but doesn’t have the bounce and clarity of Rafi’s timbre when Rafi was younger. Nowhere near in fact. Sonu Nigam is much more closer to Rafi. So enjoy him for what he is, not because he reminds you of Rafi. It’s the boys fault also if promotes himself as a Rafi clone.
