jaiswal just hasn’t had that many games even babar had that in his 2021 t20 wc analysis by the icc but obviously can be seen now, and bumrah is just bumrah. Rashid khan is probably one that doesn’t have a weakness to my knowledge.
Jaiswal is a compulsive driver of the ball, and in white ball he doesn't keep it down, so you will see occasional dismissals in that fashion, will e exploited more in red ball, only other weakness i can think of is if he's burdened with playing at a higher sr and he takes unnecessary risks, he's capable of playing at a 150-160 sr without taking any added pressure.
Jaiswal's weakness is that he's hit or miss in T20s. He's always aggressive from the start so he either ends with a big score, a small cameo or goes quite early.

Bullshit argument, apart from luck based 2021 WT20, Australia wins because they have so much variety in the team. The all rounders and bowlers who can bat are the difference in close matches. This advantage is major big which teams like India, SA, NZ don't.

What everyone is forgetting is the type of pitch we are going to get. The selectors had to make sure the team is balanced and can withstand/adapt the changing pitch conditions. You don't expect the recent IPL performers to perform on the same level if the pitch starts behaving differently (given this IPL season is a batters heaven considering the almost flat pitches). You need reliable experienced players who have felt and dealt with pressure before.
P.S: I do feel like some players could have been replaced in the existing team that is announced but well we are not the selectors. Are we?
Why take two left arm finger spinners? We all know both won't play together. They could have taken an off spinner, or kept one of Axar/Jadeja in the reserves. Rinku should have been in the 15
India can have 3 fast bowlers, 2 all rounders bowling the next 4 overs between them (hardik and Dube), and two spinners.
Rohit, Jaiswal, Virat, Suryakymar,Dube, Samson, hardik, Jadeja, kuldeep, Siraj, Bumrah.
Only two changes I wish for was to include Sandeep Sharma and T Natarajan instead of Arshdeep and Siraj.

Jarrod, you missed one weakness of jaiswal, he's surrounded by 2 dinosaurs, added pressure of scoring runs at high sr or he'll be replaced because those two dinosaurs aren't going anywhere unless a literal meteor stikes earth again.

I agree iwth everything in this video! So sad that Sandeep wasn't at least picked as a reserve bowler. Has been so much better than even the mainline bowlers in the IPL. Perhaps his lack of pace is a big factor
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Natarajan are gonna be sorely missed. Atleast Rinku got in the reserves.
A lot of people underestimate Ruturaj Gaikwad. He's someone who can do well when it's a flat pitch or a slow pitch and gets runs with a high or low strike rate which is what's needed. Everyone loves talking about Jaiswal's strike rate but he's also someone who's hit or miss.

Sandeep Sharma was never in contention for WC however well he performed (unless he dropped Bumrah level performances), as for Natarajan, he should have made the squad over Arshdeep
And why may I ask ? Is Sandeep not entitled to some consideration in selection matters after toiling for years bowling tidily for the various teams he has played for ?
Or is it that Sandeep , Natarajan and Rinku's low profile doesn't quite match the clout of some of our non performing superstars whose omission from the side would have led to a furore from their fans, ex- players and the media ? The fact is that they became expendable pawns in the chess game that is Indian cricket !

People talk about "intent" and how Kl Rahul and Shubhman Gill have lacked "intent" in the past but what it really is that players are under pressure already for their positions in the team as nobody will touch Virat and Rohit (which is justified) and when there's a big game, obviously the pressure takes over and they rather play safer than to win.
For a team to win t20 tournament you need 3-4 players at top to score 30-40 at high strike rate. Rather than 1 person opener or 1 down to score 80-100 at lower strike rate.
Please do an analysis on England squad.
I wonder how evil CSK manegement is. After watching Shivam Dube is in a beast mode they knew he's going to be picked in WT20 squad., And he'll play a major role beside Hardik as a bowler... Still they are keep substituting him and dont give him bowling. No one is talking about this.

Bowlers like Sandeep Sharma , Natarajan and even Harshal Patel are that category of seamers who have been the most successful post 2011 in the IPL....the medium pacers with good change up and awkward to pick......these guys win purple caps and are the MVPs.......but Hardik Pandya is a player who can bat too....for the sake of team balance he needs to play....where team India's tail can't bat and batters cannot bowl......I still think SANDEEP SHARMA could have been that X FACTOR whom you could rely on....at any stage to pick wickets.

There is an air of conservatism and defensiveness about the selection of this team that eerily reminds one of other sides chosen for ICC events in the last decade( of course, the 2007 T20 World Cup was a honourable exception where the selectors' hand was forced by the stars dropping out). It seems no lessons were learned despite the outcomes of those tournaments. The IPL has thrown up new stars like Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, Shashank Singh, Ashutosh , Nitish Kumar Reddy and Mayank Yadav and seen the successful return of more experienced hands like Natarajan and Sandeep Sharma.
But the selectors had no time for any of them and went with a side that is heavy on superstars who haven't performed sufficiently in this format. They have also leaned strongly on an overdose of spin ( four of them)while manning the pace department with out of form players( except Bumrah, of course).
Those who don't learn the lessons of history are condemned to repeat it ! It's no surprise that Team India seems headed in that direction one more time !
No way you were expecting them to pick Nitesh Kumar Reddy after 2 good innings in the IPL what are you talking about😭. The international pressure is real, overseas bowlers are bowling better and harder in big games and you cannot have 6 debutants in a world cup squad. If India get a little lucky and win one of the tournament's they consistently reach the knockouts for I don't think you'd be complaining. But ofcourse a once in a season IPL performer will change all that...Oh my god but isn't that exactly what they did with Vijay Shankar instead of picking the experienced international player ambati rayudu??? @@akshayvora9920 Well, I wasn't expecting the selectors to pick up the whole new bunch that cropped up in this IPL but they could have gone with a couple of them (not Reddy in particular) at least to add some fresh blood to a jaded team that is long on experience but fails to perform in major tournaments.
And ,don't forget ,Natarajan and Sandeep Sharma are the best performing Indian pace bowlers in this IPL edition and they are not short of experience either. By the way , the selectors went for Vijay Shankar because of his so called ' 3D' qualities, not for his youth !
An ideal side is an optimum mix of youth and experience but this Indian team reeks of the same conservative mindset of teams in the past although that strategy has not fetched results.

@@philm3967 Sanju, dube, jaiswal, Siraj, all are young. Bumrah is the best bowler into he world right now, and Kuldeep might be the best spinner. Yuzi has consistently been one of the best T20 wicket takers, and jadeja and axar remain India's most reliable all rounders. Hardik is India's only real pace all rounder so that was a no brainer. Rohit is captain, and kohli doesn't need much description beyond two time player of the tournament I think? There are ultimately 15 spots. To add a player you have to drop a player. But all you seem tow any to do is complain about quite a well mixed 11 in terms of age, experience, and aggressive batting. Unless you were suggesting dropping pant who has won us games in all formats

apart from Pakistan, India plays USA, Canada and Ireland in the US leg. I don't think they have to suffer much there. It's the WI leg which matters honestly

He’s always been good against leg spin that is not hasaranga, it was more of a individual match up than bowling type weakness
Rinku should have be joined by Natarajan, Mayank/sandeep and Bishnoi as reserves ..
NZ has also gone conservative. No Ben Sears. No Tim Seifert. Williamson confirmed captain over Santner as expected. Taking Conway as keeper means Ravindra will likely join Neesham, Sodhi/Lockie and Southee on the bench. Will Henry/Southee take wickets? And will Williamson be able to switch gears and maintain or up strike rate if needed? Sears, the reserve, is seemingly only seen as cover for Lockie. When Boult or Allen really fire they can grab hold of a game. Phillips often comes in too late to do that. Solid squad but not as many out and out game winners as Aus, Eng, India. Other than Allen and Phillips, don't expect the kiwi batters to all out smash from the first ball. But at least Conway, Mitchell, Chapman, Bracewell can switch gears.
With the possible exception of Sodhi, it could be a great fielding and running side. Phillips, Bracewell and Santner are complete guns. Mitchell, Boult and the rest are generally safe hands when catching.
Neesham = Pandya, Williams = Kohli, Sodhi = Chahal, Boult = Starc..?
I'm not expecting anything from this squad, not that I don't want them to do good and win the WC, it's just that the team selection is so defensive not ready to take any chances and I'm pretty sure when the situation is tough our whole team will be defensive as well and that's simply not how you win WCs.

Siraj is India’s version of D’Angelo Russell. It did not worked out for Lakers, let’s hope it would work for India.
Bruh as a Lakers fan this hurts but to be fair to D'Lo he was great all season and it just seems like it's the Nuggets that are a bad matchup for him because even last postseason he was great until the Nuggets.

@@sairajburewar I don't put too much blame on him though. I blame Darvin “Pockets” Ham because he's the coach and he's supposed to make adjustments but he doesn't do a damn thing. LeBron probably did more coaching this season than Darvin.
We led the Nuggets for most of the series but lost the games in clutch time. If it happens once then it's the players' fault but if it's happening regularly then it's Ham because we were one of the best teams in clutch time throughout the entire season so it's the lack of adjustments that screwed us over.

It baffles me that all of these players who have not done anything in the past get propped up and talked about after a few IPL innings but Ruturaj Gaikwad despite being the orange cap holder and having done great at the international level isn't talked about.

T Natrajan being born in TN is the only thing he did wrong😔 The representation of TN and KL players are too low that even tamils celebrate the inclusion of Sanju. this comment might be racial and might not be actual mindset of the mgmt, but sometimes even the most deserved south players miss out on the opportunity. If you are not from delhi, mumbai, or karnataka you being selected is really very very tough.

Most pathetic and biased selection ever, group 8 exit for team india
4 out of 6 in the first XI are anchors! Sharma, Kohli, Pant, Pandya....anchors galore. They all started off as vibrant stroke-makers, but I guess they just LOVE to anchor. (That's an over-simplification, ofcourse. Kohli and Pant actually lack the skill to take on high quality bowling to be able to score at a rapid pace). No wonder, the only non-minnow team they have managed to beat in the last 2 World cups combined, was Pakistan (which is even more anchor-laden). They very nearly lost to Bangladesh in 2022.
I guess the BCCI selectors have written this WC off already.
India will get through the group stage just fine. But will get absolutely rogered in the Super 8s.
Having said that, in Bumrah and Kuldeep, India have 2 of their all-time great bowlers. These are 2 bowlers who can take wickets in any format, on any surface. But, Kuldeep can also go for runs. Overall, there is only so much impact bowlers can make...and it's the batsmen who need to step up.
