SHe is not actually talking about love at all in the lyrics, it is poorly translated/ word play. Loveen lankeaminen is what she is saying and that is an old finnish shamanistic term for witches getting into trance (She is also mentioning trance god in the beginning). Lovi can also be interpreted as a vagina in some context - and when said as she says it, "loveen" (into lovi), it obviously is spelled like love in english, so. Yeah.
I think Erika’s entry is divisive but those who love it are obsessed with it and will vote. Also Erika is a seasoned performer with an incredible state presence so I think this has a good chance of winning UMK and doing well in Eurovision.
Nice analysis. Did you guys have the English subtitles on when watching the music videos? I hope you were aware of them being available. Btw, Ich komme is not Finnish, it's German, otherwise the song is in Finnish.
I'm not quite sure - it is not getting as many streams as the others. It is great on the first listen, maybe a couple and has the shock factor, but after that it wears off quickly for most people. I think Erika is a strong favourite. I also like Goldielocks and Viivi.
Nope, Puppy isnt nowhere near as accessible song as for example Cha Cha Cha or even No Rules were....as Finn Im quite the contrary 99% sure that Erika is gonna take the win, she is as strong favourite to win as Rasmus was in 2022. The best Puppy can do is finish 2nd, which could be entirely likely. I mean if you look at Finish spotify list, Puppy was the first UMK song to drop out of top 20 most streamed songs already. Only some utterly crazy stage show can put them on 1st position and even then its simply a song that just annoyes the heck out of many people, including those who voted for Käärijä and Windows95man, so I honestly dont see it winning, no matter what. Viivi is my personal favourite, I know she has very little chance of winning, but gonna vote for her regardless.
"Ich komme" would be a worthy winner of 69th Eurovision Song Contest! ❤🎉

Thank you for sharing that! I had no idea, definitely lost in translation for me.
Really good to know! Thank you so much for this added context!!

Well, I love Goldilocks, but I think Puppy or Erika will win UMK (unless they somehow fail the live performances). But let’s see!
As a Finn, I think Puppy has a 99.9% chance to win.
I think you're pretty spot on.

@@BalnazzardiI hope you’re right. What’s your pulse on Ich Komme? Seemed like there was a lot of hype there
@@Balnazzardi Ditto!
Erika started her career as a family girl-type artist (singing tango, big in Finland) but then changed her style 180 degrees :)
Puppy was just disqualified, so it's not going to Eurovision.
We just saw that! That came out of nowhere!!
You don´t understand European music!
