This worked for me. Just a reminder for others, you will need to remove the undercarriage panel to access this. It's held on by a handful of 10 mm bolts and several clips. I'm not sure how you are supposed to remove the clips but I popped them out with a screwdriver. Hopefully I didn't damage them, but I'm not sure because I haven't put the panel back on yet.
I have the same year Leaf, and this just happened to my wife a few minutes ago. She tried following the procedure in the manual to manually release the brake, but it didn't work for her. Unfortunately she is out in the car, and I will give this method a try. Did you figure out what caused the issue?
