this cutscene would probably be way more heartbreaking if they didn't show it to you 5 seconds after starting a new game
I think that clip was what we call a "trailer sting", in that its meant to catch the attention that they are fighting whereas, in truth, Celica was just possessed.
.....yeah.
Tbh I felt like it kinda helped the heartbreaking feeling. When I saw the cutscene, I started thinking "how do I make it so that doesn't happen?" and then when I thought I was doing well to avoid the scenario only for it to happen anyway gave me a hopeless feeling. I know it's stupid for me to think like that cause it's a video game and they both kinda need to be alive but I was in the moment.
Jedah just leaves the scene like hes from the CDI zelda games.

The part that shows Alm impaling Celica in the opening cutscene really left my mind worrying. I haven't even begun the game and I thought, "One hero will kill the other?!" Once I witnessed the true scene, it was touching to see Celica saved.

It's kind of funny in hindsight to realize that this version of the cutscene might play after you just finished the pre-menu cutscene where they as kids go "nothing will ever tear us apart" (paraphrased)
God this scene is so good for all the wrong reasons

Why is Falchion all the way on the Zofian/Valmese continent? Are there more than two in that point in time?
Yes there are at least two. Possibly even three since Marth’s looks nothing like Chroms. However we know there are at least two since this Falchion was made by Mila instead of Naga
@@AlteryxGaming real late I know. Marth and Chrom's Falchion are one and the same. It's stated that although the hilts degrade, the blade stays the same making the swords the same just a different look.
@@AlteryxGaming If I recall correctly, this falchion was also made by Naga. Naga gave it to Duma before they left Archanea so that the people would have something to destroy duma and mila with once they went mad. I believe Naga is the only one capable of creating falchions in general.

@@Arkensius1157 Jedah (the villain in the video) tells Celica that if she offered her soul to Duma, it would prevent both Duma and Mila from going mad and it would return Mila to Zofia, Alm would also be safe from the war. Out of options, Celica believes this would be the best course of action to end the war, and agrees to sacrifice herself for the greater good. However, Jedah lied as Mila was already sealed by the Falchion and couldn't be returned to Zofia. Jedah then sacrifices Celica's soul to Duma and she is reborn as a soulless witch.
@@anritube And for some reason, when Jedah destroys Mila’s petrified body, he never thinks of destroying her head with the Valentian Falchion impaled on it, which if he did, means no way to destroy Duma, and Celica would’ve probably been killed off for real.

Valentin Falchion is different than the Awakening/Marth Falchion
From what I remember, I hear it's reforged generation after generation.
Falchion appearing in *Shadow Dragon & The Blade Of Light, Gaiden/Echoes, and Awakening* just shows how Fire Emblem as a whole is connected.....
@@squared2178 although the Falchion that Chrom uses is a reforged/upgraded version of Marth's, the Falchion Alm uses is a completely different weapon
