  • My garden tiller has lost it spark...well, I sanded the coil and flywheel to no spark, so I took off the fly wheel to clean the points, did that, still no sparks, adjusted the coil, nope...so will try another idea next time...but we still have no spark.

Maybe gap the points? The only thing I could think of that you haven’t tried yet. Anyway great to have the fix-it videos again! Great video

I was going to make that suggestion you pointed out at the end, lol
But check out mustie1 he recently did a video about repairing points it was on a completely different style engine but the same ideas do apply.

Sanding the flywheel doesn't do a lot to be honest as its a magnet on it that generates the spark. Watch out for the polarity of the kill wire. The older coils need the wire to be earthed to run and the newer coils need it to be open circuit to run. I would recommend disconnecting the points if you do use a newer spark induction coil. The magnet on the flywheel triggers the spark on that type.

Sounds good. If the crank case on my new poulen is cracked, I'll be stealing from it today.
