Most of the figure skaters whom we know today had endured a lot of pains behind the scene, so much so that fans always forget about it. We just wanna make this video to pay tribute to all the hardworking figure skaters, and hopefully their stories will inspire us to never give up on our dreams too 💓
Thank u for this video 🥰
Thank you so much for making this video! I wanted to watch the mao's FS with stadium sounds, Thank you for giving me the excitement of that time again. *sorry for my English🙏
I cried when I watched the whole fs of Mao Asada. You can feel the emotions on her performance. ❤❤❤
Me too 😭😭😭 im very happy for her. Oh my God
Great skater with style
Yes no matter how many times I watched that FS of Mao Asada, I always feel like crying too..
me too i cried
Omg I was not the only one😭😭
I like all skaters, but I Love Yuzuru Hanyu.
He's so determined, your history is impressive. He's an inspiration to me (4A, injuries,earthquakes...), sincerely, i love him.
"I was born to my skate" Hanyu, Yuzuru
@Lilith linares Yuzu is so precious and special 🥺😁
Yuzuru has a special place in history
He has such a passion and love for the sport while maintaining his humanity, and making all of us love it too
He’s also just a genuinely sweet human being

Why I became emotional watching Mao Asada 😢 so beautiful.
Also, Yuzu have so many comebacks that can Include in this vid... ❤
Also the other skaters, I hoping to see a part 2 🥺
A part 2 would be great, yes, please.
Yes yes 🙌
Mao was such a strong fighter, not just a skater. She always delievered and fought so hard throughout her career, even in the face of adversity. Her 2010 Olympic season was so hard for her as her mother was ill and she couldn't consistently train with Tarasova as she had to stay with the mother. But she still delivered such a technically strong performance. Her two triple axels in the free were to make up for her lack of a triple triple or triple lutz. So much more technically difficult but the points weren't there. If the system then was the same as the rules now, she would have won Vancouver. Not to mention, following, her mother died, which would have put such a massive strain on her mentally, dealing with grief, yet she continued to work on changing her technique. Finally successfully being able to land a true triple lutz with outside edge at the final competition of her career. She kept the triple axel, and got it back to the level of the past even though she had gone through her growth where most skaters lose their jump consistency. And the night in Sochi was even more amazing. Maybe even one of the greatest moments in the Winter Olympics of figure skating. Her mental strength to continue to deliver a clean skate after that terrible short program. Landing the triple axel for the first time that season and delivering a clean program. Her step sequence was divine, the program always brought tears to my eyes. Mao went through so much and fought hard and came out so beautifully. A beautiful skater and a super tough fighter at the same time. Her personality is so kind and lovely, a gentle soul, a genuinly nice person. My favourite skater. What a queen. A goddess, a swan and a magnificent skater on ice.
All the adversities she encountered finally make her mentally strong to hold with heavy pressures!!!
I miss mao

What a beautiful and spot-on comment over Japan's and all figure-skating world's treasure, Mao Asada. Big thank you from Osaka, Japan.

Mao Asada , Nathan Chen, Yuzuru are amazing ice skaters, huge determination and great courage definetely most memorable skaters..
They all but especially Aljona shows us never give up 💜 5 attemps in Olympics is huge, needs courage and nerves especially when you think about people want Yuzu to retire already. OMG so much pressure to handle and so much courage and self- belief is needed 👏👏👏👏
yeah, and all the russian girls right now, that are retiring, she's double their age and got gold
I hope we'll see a movie about Yuzu one day. A truly exceptional skater and a great man.
Mao 🦋 looks unreal just like a saint or angel but her emotion overflow passionately. She’s magic
When she emerged on ice rink on TV for the first time, she looked like a deer who has no gravity beneath her and when she arrived Sochi for the free program, her whole performance was so magical and she was now a beautiful deep blue butterfly.
Yuzuru is indeed the champion n the challenger. God bless you n keep you safe n healthy for always.
So glad that you've brought up Alyona Savchenko's story on this list! Not only it took 5 Olympics to win gold for her but also numerous change of partners. And she still managed to work it out! Her determination is incredible. I was really thankful to Bruno Massot, finally a man who was able to complete her on ice and make a stunning pair, the Olympic champions.
What are you talking about??? Aljona competed with Robin Szolkowy for years, 3 Olympic games, and won numerous medals. They were a pretty sucessful pair. I was thrilled for her, but honestly, I wish it had been Savchenko/Szolkowy to win gold together
Do you know why she doesn't want to perform solo and sticks to pairs?
Mao's performance was just so emotional.
don't mind me i'm just crying over mao asada
Who doesn’t cry over her performance there.. 😥😥
Will mao asada be competing in future or is that her last competition? If it's the last one, then what a great pity as she is FANTASTIC!!! I only know about her now so it will be a great pity for me as i would love to see more of her performances... in fact, I am sure the whole world wants to see more of her. Hope she comes back and stay on like Yuzuru.
@@soaringeagle6918 This was Mao last Olympics like Yuna, but Mao decided to retire from competitive skating on April 2017 saying that she didn't feel any motivation after placing in 12th in Japan's national championships in December of 2016 and since she didn't recover her form to keep being competitive after having taken a break after Sochi 2014
Mao asada performance brought me to tears
Yuzuru's hair cut is cute on him
I am still so salty and angry for Sochi Oly, for treating Yuna, Mao, and Carolina so unjustly. Specifically for this video, for giving Mao that FS score after a superb comeback performance and giving Carolina 3rd place (which should be 2nd).
Aljona is such a force, just for having the will power and discipline to compete in 5 Olympic alone. Props for that. This is why longevity is important. We love athletes who last because we can know them better and see them grow over time.
Yes among all, my heart feels extremely painful for Mao's incredibly low score for that incredible performance. I felt Yuna and Carolina was scored correctly but they overscored *Cough cough*we all know who.. Mao was really really underscored! I really thought she would get like 155-160 after that performance. I felt that injustice after watching her live and still feel the same especially seeing how they score other Russians who do 3A.. Think about this, Alena Kostornaia scored 162.14 for a similar program as Mao Asada in GPF 2019.. Sure there's a change of the GOE from +5-5 but still..
@@FigureSkatingFan judges and TP were very strict to Mao that night. They called every nooks and cranny things that they could find. The PCS they gave was also criminal... in the 8s for that performance... I was so moved watching that and was so sure that she would be getting 155 at least. But nope, judges were like not gonna happen in Sochi.
@@yohanes2034 They were probably scared that Mao would be able to deliver a strong comeback and possibly challenge Sotnikova's gold. Mao's performance there should have been a world record. It was flawless even with the underrotation which was only really clear on the double axel-triple toe.
@@Mxlchn
They were scared that Mao would be able to deliver for the 2010 olympcs FS to challenge Yuna's gold so they scored Yuna 5 points ahead of Yuna in the short.
@@yokoizawa uhmm..what?
They all so inspirational, especially Yuzu. He is so magical
I'm losing words to praise yuzuru hanyu's way of living his life, he's amazing human
The world will cry the day yuzuru decides to retire
Hanyu has had an amazing and long skating career no need to cry. His skating is wonderful but in away as beautiful as it is just like Kwan and the rest sometimes it is time to hang it up. Michelle grew up before our eyes and we saw maturity in many skaters. Hanyu in some ways hasn't grown up Some will find his child like love of pooh endearing others will find it tiresome, boring and passe.. But will always be great.
@Lilith linares did you just write a whole ielts essay about him lol
I started crying but stopped immediately after hearing that he's continuing as a Pro athlete and I'm actually very happy to see him happy and healthy and doing wonderful solo ice shows. I'm glad he got rid of i$u☠j$f and flying freely... 👍
Mao Asada described as class, elegance and passionate...Living Legend kudos!
As for Nathan Chen, they hype him so much on his first Olympic And put so much pressure on him! But now it’s redemption!
淺井真央2014冬奧她長曲完成哭了,我也流淚了,很感動
Mao ❤️❤️❤️ she was soo amazing!!!!
First time watching Mao Asada and I didn't know who she is but I almost cried. Her performance was so emotional. 😭
14:42 Yuzuru Hanyu
Hanyu Yuzuru is really a strong motivator for me.
Through what he achieved, I was able to move forward in life.
Love you, Hanyu
Same here!! Whenever I feel like I need some motivation to continue in life, I went back to watch his competitions..
Yuzuru Hanyu is literally the king of ice skating
recently rewatched mao asada whole fs and i ended up crying. she's absolutely amazing, the amount of passion she has for figure skating. i love her
Mao Asada's performance gave me literal chills of how amazing it was 😭❤️
Te amo Yuzuru Hanyu 💜
Mao Asada !!
When i saw Mao's FP at sochi 2014, so much emotional 😭
Aljona and Yuzu are two examples of why you NEVER HAVE TO GIVE UP
Thank you for reminding us how painful can be the hard training in this sport, and how could these master skating artists overcome some of the worse moments in their careers...
Hanyu is a heartthrob
Zhang/Zhang's fall is still absolutely chilling to me even after all these years, every replay it's like a sinkhole opening up in my stomach, and never fails to brings up the memories of those long minutes between the fall and the restart of the program...
oh no here I am crying again at Mao's Rach FP and Caro, always la mia stella ♡
Aljona the icon, the legend! And Yuzu, the brilliance, the resilience, the heart, the passion, the intelligence, the ambition, it's like figure skating runs in his veins (get that 4A lad)
Mao's 3-2-2 was actually 3F-2Lo-2Lo, which is so much harder. Not a 3F-2T-2Lo
Thank you for presenting beautiful Carolina Kostner. She is our national treasure! One of the greatest of all times .

Nathan's comeback: it isn't merely a comeback story of events that ended at the Pyeongchang Olympics but a comeback story that is _still_ unfolding. The disastrous SP set up that unbelievable free skate...and that was the start of his dominance. He has been undefeated since. Because of his SP performance at the Olympics, the haters said he was "overhyped" even though he'd seriously had a chance at gold. He grew so much from his mistake(which was very much a mental one) and has worked so hard to improve himself even more. 4 years later and he's now a 3X world champion(would probably be his 4th title if Covid hadn't happened), and he's primed to get back to the Olympics to finally win that gold. His comeback story hasn't ended yet, and I absolutely love it!
I remember watching nathan chen back in 2018 olympics and I was soo shocked with how he scored. I wholeheartedly believed that he would be in the top 3 with Javier and Yuzuru. But he redeemed himself in during his free skate and that was everything❤️
Yuzuru Hanyu - urodzony zwycięzca. Piekny , niesamowity - KRÓL tafli. Pozdrowienia PL. 🏅🌍 21.02.2022.
I'm so happy for Nathan♡ he indeed made an olimpic comeback
I loved his Olympic free skating program 4 years ago so much. He was a true fireball melting ice by his quads and triples. Now he became an Olympic champion. Well deserved.
It was such a pity that an excellent skater like Mao never got OG....If she competed in the field these days with no emphasis on techniques (no edge or pre-rotation calls) she could have easily podium in all competitions
Unfortunately nope. The judges will still call her edge issues as what they did for other “non Russian” or rather “non Eteri” skaters.. sad reality 😭😖
@@FigureSkatingFan More like a "non Eteri" issue coz even Elizaveta Tuktamysheva with perfect technique still has lower GOE than Eteri girls :o

I remember watching Massot-Aljona's SP and getting so sad over it. And I watched her FS with bating breath. It was nerve racking af I cried when I saw the score. She's such an inspiration.

Figure skating give me motivation ✨
How graceful and brave these athletes are🥺
I know it’s not as iconic as these ones but, if you ever feel like doing a part 2, could you include Petr Gumennik’s comeback at 2020 junior worlds? I think it’s really impressive to win a medal after finishing the short program in 9th place. I also think he’s very underrated and it would be nice to see him in more figure skating videos 🥰
Yup that win was so surprising! Will think about how to portray those under-rated stories. There are actually a lot of these, like Denis Ten from 9th to Bronze in Olympics 2014, Wakaba Higuchi from 8th to 2nd in Worlds 2018, Sasha from 12th to Bronze in Worlds 2021.. Figure skating is just so unpredictable..

Mao is extremely stubborn and hard on herself, which is hard to imagine from her kind face.
Coach Tarasova thought the song "Prelude in C-sharp minor" was a burden for Mao and tried to change the song, but she refused. She had decided she wanted to compete the Olympic season with this song. It was impossible to make her give up once she decided, and I believe she thought that conquering that song was more important than winning the Olympic gold medal. Mao cried at the Olympics because she made a mistake on a jump, not because she lost to someone else or didn't win a gold medal.
When she failed in Sochi, she told Coach Sato to give up 3A to make sure she could get points, but she refused to do so. And she is the first female single competitor to attempt 6 different triple jumps!
This is inspiring.
Here for Karolina.. Italy was so proud of her that day♥️🇮🇹
