I honestly think it’s unpopular now to say Age of Ultron is bad. Now that the hype has died and IW and Endgame released, I think people are looking back at AoU fondly and realize how crucial it is to the MCU and the character arcs

Pixar is probably my favorite studio/division so far. They've made Coco, Toy Story 3, Up, Ratatouille, Incredibles, Luca, Soul... and their movies usually show originality and creativity. They're truly time-less films, and many Pixar movies will probably stay classics for decades.

Most of Pixar’s movies, especially from 1995 to 2010 are deeper than many Marvel movies. The Incredibles for instance ranks among the best superhero movies of all time because of its unique take on the genre.

not sure if you've done this but can you rank the most popular animation movie studios as a whole? like pixar, dreamworks, blue sky, warner bros, sony pictures, etc. based on like consistency or catalog?
I don’t think there is even a competition here- Pixar movies stick with you, while the MCU- though fun at first watch- can become stale and boring specially in such an over saturated market as superhero movies where some other studios are making things which could be considered even better and more unique than what they have been able to do (as singular films) as a whole the MCU is still quite amazing. But one of them is something that leaves strong messages and has been able to maintain its shape throughout the years… while the other one… they must change or they will be left behind- with the movies not tV shows.
I agree I find myself rewatching Pixar’s better movies again and again meanwhile my McU are just sitting there collecting dust which I clean from time to time because they’re still special. But the superhero trope has become dull
I think the easier way to see this, is 50 years from now. In 5 decades the MCU will become absolete because of even better super hero movies, just like superman, Batman and Spider-Man were by the MCU and The Dark Knight Trilogy..while on the other hand more than half of the Pixar movies will still be classics in 50 years. Look at the first Toy Story, that movie is 26 years old and everyone still thinks is one of the greatest movies(not just animated) ever made.
Both MCU and Pixar are great - Pixar for its unique and individual stories and MCU for its shared universe. It is hard to pick between the two but I totally agree with your opinion. The MCU’s greatest strength (shared universe) also makes way for its weaknesses. In my opinion, I feel like you can’t just watch one MCU film, if you want to watch one then you have to watch all the others because it seems like one story. Whereas for Pixar, you can just watch one film and not feel like you have to watch the others (unless they have sequels). But that could just be me
Ranking Pixar and MCU together: 1. Avengers: Infinity War 2. Avengers: Endgame 3. Toy Story 4. The Incredibles 5. Spider-Man: No Way Home 6. Ratatouille 7. Up 8. Inside Out 9. Coco 10. Captain America: The Winter Soldier 11. Captain America: Civil War 12. Monster's Inc 13. Finding Nemo 14. Iron Man 15. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 16. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 17. Guardians of the Galaxy 18. The Avengers 19. Toy Story 3 20. Toy Story 2 21. Soul 22. The Incredible Hulk 23. Elemental 24. Wall-E 25. Black Panther 26. Thor: Ragnarok 27. Spider-Man: Homecoming 28. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever 38. Iron Man 2 39. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings 40. Toy Story 4 41. Lightyear 42. A Bug's Life 43. Doctor Strange 44. Iron Man 3 45. Ant-Man and the Wasp 46. Black Widow 47. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness 48. Monsters University 49. Finding Dory 50. Brave 51. Cars 52. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania 53. Cars 3 54. Eternals 55. Captain Marvel 56. Thor: The Dark World 57. The Good Dinosaur 58. Thor: Love and Thunder 59. The Marvels 60. Cars 2
Also, you mention that we should try to be objective when comparing the franchises but I feel like it's very hard to be objective and I feel like the only way to know if a movie is good or not is if it has good reception or not. It's a lot easier to be subjective and I feel like that's how most non-critics/reviewers are when talking about movies even though they(myself included) say good or bad when referring to certain movies
Both are amazing studios and they both have great films. While I love a bunch of Pixar movies, my personal preference gives the MCU a huge win. Reason why is because they are all connected with their movies and they have top tier actors playing these now iconic characters and they are all brought together in the best way to wrap up the Infinity Saga. Yes there are some flaws (The Dark World, Age of Ultron for example). Such an awesome franchise with so many iconic characters. Though Pixar got me started (Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc), the MCU wins.
@@drachireidnoc6659 ikr xd. now toy story 4 as a standalone is a good movie, but in terms of "toy story" its disappointing and lacks. id put it on the same level as captain america and the first avenger, meaning the toy story series and the captain america series are similar in quality

5:21 Marvel has told different stories too. For example every film is different, Shang-Chi and the legend of the Ten Rings is a brilliant Martial Arts movie and Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a horror film. I agree Pixar tells stories that are radically different from one another but Marvel does too!
for me comparing these two franchises r like comparing apples to oranges I like the mcu more cause I just love the connected universe pixar is still great but i find i rewatch them less
When it comes to which franchise I enjoy more I’d have to go with Pixar. Now I really enjoy the MCU and I want to praise it for being able to go this many films without making a bad film, but Pixar has meant so much to me throughout my life. I remember when Pixar had that 5 film stretch when they released: Cars, Ratatouille, Wall-E, Up, and Toy Story 3. And even back then I knew that was a remarkable accomplishment. I don’t mean to be disrespectful to anybody who has a different opinion, I just wanted to give mine.
I would say they are tied, mainly because the MCU is more entertaining but Pixar does more different styles per films and don’t follow the same formulas
I honestly like them the same. I like the MCU for the connective storytelling, the cast/characters and the world building but the Pixar just has incredibly unique and creative stories and has great emotion. Interms of cinema Pixar and the MCU are the two studios and films I'm the biggest fan of
I have to admit that Pixar is the better studio, and it's so tied to my childhood. But as an adult, I feel like the MCU is my favorite studio. P.S. I love how you have the Pixar posters on one side and the MCU posters on the other!! Your poster arrangement is always so fun!!
If I just want to watch a movie and love it, I'll go with pixar. But for binge watching and fangirling over, I'd say the mcu, its more connective, the characters are better and more interesting, theyre based of comics so it's always fun to compare, and having the knowledge of the timeline and all the lore is so much fun (which is why star wars is superior to both of these, its able to have fun enjoyable movies to watch, and have a connective story with great characters). But ye so pixar is better than the mcu for individuality whilst the mcu is better for a more wider perspective. And also I think due to the disappointment of pixar over the past few years (not that theyre bad movies, just theyre not as amazing as early pixar) I get more excited for a new mcu movie, rather than a new pixar movie
In my opinion pixar has the better movies because they have more heart and so many of them are amazing, with a few bad ones. The MCU has a couple terrible, a lot of mediocre and a few great movies.

This is unrelated except for the fact that they’re both Disney, but I just watched Cruella and it was so good!
Both have 24 films
@@nicklandgren7144 No I’m just saying Cruella is unrelated to this video
@@zacharyshen811 Ah gotcha, my bad lol!
Sean Chandler, being one of the most underrated RUclipsrs...................... And Sean you said Thor Ragnarok instead of Dark World.
Interesting video idea!
You should do it since there’s 24 each where you put each movie H2H in release order and whichever wins more individual matchups is the winner
But that could just be me
Objectively, I'd say Pixar is probably better but I like the MCU better. Still love both

Love to see MCU vs Star Wars from Sean
Also there is some Disney+ version called star where its rated R stuff and drama, also like deadpool and you know
Also, you mention that we should try to be objective when comparing the franchises but I feel like it's very hard to be objective and I feel like the only way to know if a movie is good or not is if it has good reception or not.
It is like All Pixar Movies Are Mad At Cars 2 To Get Rotten And All Pixar Movie Fresh
Unpopular Opinion: Pixar > MCU
Toy Story 1-4 beats any Marvel/MCU movie
Except Infinity War* Though I prefer Pixar
*Toy Story 1-3
@@drachireidnoc6659 ikr xd. now toy story 4 as a standalone is a good movie, but in terms of "toy story" its disappointing and lacks. id put it on the same level as captain america and the first avenger, meaning the toy story series and the captain america series are similar in quality
@@astelevey I like Captain America the First Avenger more than Toy Story 4. It was a good origin story and they nailed Captain America’s beginnings. Captain America trilogy doesn’t have a weak film. A more appropriate comparison would be the 4 avengers films since one is weaker than the other 3:Age of Ultron
@@drachireidnoc6659 ye i mean, neither CA or TS have a “weak film”. theyre only somewhat weak when in comparison to the series theyre in, i still think theyre both good movies (like a 7/10) , but they both do lack a lot. but when comparing how well they fit into their series, CAtfa is defo better
@@astelevey nice. I would probably give CAFA a 8/10. (It’s a nostalgia film for me, first marvel movie I saw in the theatre)

I don’t get why Age of Ultron is so hated and do not understand how I can be put below The First Avenger. Seeing the avengers come together will always be incredible, no matter if the plot is perfect or not
Hey Sean have u seen the king kong 2005 movie its one of my favourites
Pixar and marvel are really close but I would have to say the MCU because it brings up good memories of seeing them with my Dad and siblings.

Marvel has told different stories too. For example every film is different, Shang-Chi and the legend of the Ten Rings is a brilliant Martial Arts movie and Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a horror film. I agree Pixar tells stories that are radically different from one another but Marvel does too!
Even The T-Box Movies Are 24 and The 24th Movie Is Foster Snow: Dinomania Next Year. I Like Them All

Pixar laughing rn cause you forgot about the Pixar theory
Pixar NEVER considered the theory to be canon
Both are amazing but I like the MCU more
for me comparing these two franchises r like comparing apples to oranges
I like the mcu more cause I just love the connected universe
pixar is still great but i find i rewatch them less
Favourite Pixar Movie: The Incredibles
Favourite Toy Story Movie: Toy Story 2
today I learned thor: the dark world was actually called thor: ragnarok.
Anyone else say “Hey Sean!” Every time he says “Hi my name is Sean”? No? Just me? Cool, I’m becoming my grandpa.
Favorite Pixar movie - Coco / Toy Story 3 (both are made by Lee Unkrich)
Favorite MCU movie- Infinity War
Yay Pixar for the win (Marvel isn’t bad just I love Pixar)
When it comes to which franchise I enjoy more I’d have to go with Pixar. Now I really enjoy the MCU and I want to praise it for being able to go this many films without making a bad film, but Pixar has meant so much to me throughout my life. I remember when Pixar had that 5 film stretch when they released: Cars, Ratatouille, Wall-E, Up, and Toy Story 3. And even back then I knew that was a remarkable accomplishment. I don’t mean to be disrespectful to anybody who has a different opinion, I just wanted to give mine.
Is the Rotten tomatoes score data taken from the critics score or the audience score? Is it a combination of the two?
I honestly like both the MCU and Pixar they both have consistent and non consistent movies
I would say they are tied, mainly because the MCU is more entertaining but Pixar does more different styles per films and don’t follow the same formulas
I LOVE the Showdowns!!!!
they should do the avengers fighting the pixar characters now that would beat endgame
Not really
pixar they can entertain kids but have emotional themes and maybe a few jokes for adults, and with a few exceptions i love all of their films
I never realized Owen Wilson was Lightning McQueen 😂. He’s in both Pixar and MCU.
I honestly like them the same. I like the MCU for the connective storytelling, the cast/characters and the world building but the Pixar just has incredibly unique and creative stories and has great emotion. Interms of cinema Pixar and the MCU are the two studios and films I'm the biggest fan of
The Video no one thought of but the one we all clicked on
I have to admit that Pixar is the better studio, and it's so tied to my childhood.
Justice for cars 2 😭
It’s the best movie on the cars franchise I swearrrrrrrrrr
Fuck no
