I know the feeling. Although I have what some would call family, only due to the fact of the blood line. Honestly I am good with that. Have been for 14 years. No more drama, going back and forth with issues that do not matter. It was a lot of BLA, BLA BLA, I walked away from everyone but my father and mom/stepmother. When God calls them home. I consider I the only one left with my last name. Have no problems with that. I am happier with the 12 individuals out of my live than I ever was with them in it. I’m not lonely, I do not wonder what their do, where they at. Some may feel I am in the wrong, I understand why one would feel that way, however I was the one living in the chaos day after day.
I totally understand, so painfully beautiful. May you feel the warm virtual embrace I am sending you.

My father in law judges everyone and distances himself from his family, every Christmas I say to my husband “make sure he knows he’s welcome to come round for dinner or just to watch a movie” whatever he wants. I think he’s been betrayed by a lot of women in his life and just can’t handle relationships with his daughters or grandchildren anymore. My husband always says he’s happy by himself but it breaks my heart no one should be alone at Christmas I hope you find your true family even it’s not the one your related to through blood x

Wow! On the day I graduated high school my mother told me I had to get out now. Two days later I left with no money, and a suitcase of the clothes I had bought myself. I vowed my children would never be abandoned like that. My son knows I am his soft place to land, and I will never see him on the streets.

My father spent so much time away with the military when I was growing up so I understand that influx of emotions that just breaks your heart. Every time I watch these kind of moments I feel it again and again. My mother has Alzheimer’s now and is non verbal but every time she looks at me I see this emotion flow through her, she lives just 2 doors down from me so I see it a lot and I feel privileged every time she looks at me that way ❤

It will always be just my husband and myself. No children we wanted them. My longest pregnancy was 9 weeks. We moved to another country so it’s just us. I would love to have wonderful relationships with family but that’s not my reality

It’s a cultural thing. They need a strong father figure and then they’ve got ministers that preschool like that. He was reminding his son of his responsibilities. There are a lot of pressures out in society to f’ up so this seems appraise to me. He was reinforcing this love.
