Thank you so much for showing us how to use the stove. I see them using them all the time on the prepping channels. I've been too afraid to buy one because I didn't know how to use it. I was very nervous about it. Now I feel much better about buying one.
If you have a friend with one in their camping gear, why not plan a picnic at a local public park so you can try their’s out first before you go shopping for one.
Thank you AG
@@karinhart489 I don't know of anyone, wish i did though. But I think I'll get one and if I'm not happy with it I'll send it back. I sure like the looks of it though. Can't hurt to try
Love the picture of you with your Sweetheart! May you find peace.
Sometimes adding a Potato can absorb the Spiciness of a tinned Food, or it can absorb something to Salty too.
Aww, Teddy Tangle.
TFS AG, take care & keep really busy everyone. ❤🙂🐶
I add sugar to spicy food, especially, Mexican Rotel or salsa..always.😊
@@cheryl_345 Yes, that will work also, & sometimes Plain Yogurt works too. 👍
I did not know that! Thank you for explaining
I would also suggest getting the old Coleman stoves that can burn unleaded gasoline. If they are very old, they might even say leaded gas. Of course, that is not for sale anymore and is bad for you. But gasoline is available everywhere, and when it goes bad, it might not work well for a vehicle but will work in those old stoves. I just rebuilt three of them: single, double, and triple burners. Also, the butane is so much better if used indoors, use those old Coleman stoves outdoors only. People like the propane and butane stoves so you might find the older ones for cheap. Got mine for about $6 each. That looks tasty as well!
Sour cream will calm down spicy food too. And it tastes good!
Shredded cheese on top...or V8.
Thank you so much for showing how to use this stove. I bought one a couple of years ago for an emergency. Have never used it, it looks pretty simple. Have a great week ❤
I have a butane stove and many other ways to cook. I think every time I see something new I get it, just in case.
That looks pretty good. I'm not a fan of spicy foods either. It must be the "granny" part of us😉.
Hope the "critters" Teddy is sniffing up aren't still standing in the tracks he finds. Keep that .375 handy just in case.
I learned something new today. Never heard of a simmer mat. I have electric at home but good to know. Thanks AG
I didn't know about a simmer mat either...maybe that's why I burn my food on a gas stove. I grew up cooking with gas...and scorching many pans of popcorn...
Did you ever get your Colman duel fuel single burning stove working?
I did not know about the loss of your husband. Prayers and thank you for another great video. I love my propane stove.
Thanks so much.
Thanks to your advice I purchased a butane stove last year. Haven't used it but ready to go. Teddy on watch doggie patrol!!❤❤❤
Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for this tutorial and recipe!
My pleasure 😊
Where’s Teddy. Oh there he is.
Thanks for the tutorial. I haven't bought a canister stove yet, but this shows how easy they are to operate. How long does one canister burn on medium heat?
I can cook many meals on a single canister.
So sorry about your loss. In 1989 I lost my husband but there is life after death. I am remarried to a wonderful man that God blessed me with. Hugs. Thanks for sharing the soup information. I have a bunch that hubby likes and what you did looks like it would extend the soup quite a ways. God Bless.
How long does a can of butane last? Is it only good for 1 meal or will it do several?
They last for quite a few easy meals.
Thank you! I have one of those and haven't used it yet. Now I'll be comfortable using it.
I have a butane stove for emergencies, but have never had to use it yet. I got mine from a restaurant wholesaler for outdoor catering. I don't have fuel but plan to get some to try it out this summer I hear you can get about 5 hours from one canister. Do you have all your windows and doors open (with bug screens of course) so there is no issue with CO2? Do you have a detector? That's the other concern I have. I've heard that Avon Skin so Soft repels mosquitos too...
Your videos are awesome, it’s given me really cool tips ! Thank you ❤
Thanks for sharing. I use to live in a new shed with a loft after college years ago. Storms have destroyed much of North Texas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Kentucky, prepping supplies are gone too, everyone is offgrid 😢now. Many people are homeless including pets...... from the Ozarks
I hate to hear this brother! God bless you
The storms have been unprecedented this spring. I can hardly believe hearing of 4-5 states reporting tornadoes same day and nearly at the same time in some cases.
The food looks good. Glad you have a watch doggie on patrol!
Very nice! I never heard of a simmer mat! Cool!
agreed
I usually add some Carolina reaper hot sauce to my Campbell's spicey soups, much to my wife's dismay. She would certainly go for your suggestion to cut the spice.
My wife make a chili sauce that uses lots vinegar, so she cooks it outside on a butane stove. If she cooks it inside my eyes water something terrible.
I have cans of chicken sausage gumbo that are a little on the spicy side, I've just added some water to make it palatable. I like the idea of rice and extra tomatoes though. Thank you!
Good video and tips , thanks for sharing YAH bless !
Thanks for watching!
Add turmeric powder… cheap fast easy and max flavour 👍👍👍
Love your videos. Thank you. I lost my husband 3 months ago. On 3 acres rural in NC east of Charlotte. Something every day to do outside 🤔 😢😢. Doing the best I can. Age 66 I am this weekend. Prepping for shtf. Growing my favorite vegetables. 😍
Sorry to hear about your husband, you are in my prayers.
Thank you so much! I bought a butane still and did not know how to use it. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Great tutorial! What do you do with the can of butane when you are done cooking? Leave it in the stove or take it out?
Love granny camp!
You can leave it in the stove if you are staying in your location. Otherwise, remove it.
@@AlaskaGranny thank you! I wasn’t sure if you would be able to remove it and store it safely
A little sour cream added to spicy food will cut down heat. I'm not sure if powdered will do the same. AG, secure a little swatter to Teddy's tail, he will help keep the bugs off ya! HA
Thanks for the tips!
Really....????
I’m not a fan of canned soups. First many world societies exist on single burner cook tops like your stove. We have a 4 burner electric but generally only use one. Talk about a waste of space. We might use the oven twice a month. One of my favorite one pot meals is pork chops cooked in tomato sauce with real rice that is steamed in that tomato sauce. It comes out much like your recipe. Steamed rice in tomato sauce with garlic and basil is incredible.
Thanks so much for sharing ideas.
I love my gas grill. I would love to have that little simmer plate. What’s it called and where can I get it. Thanks for sharing this video.
Here is a link to the simmer mat. It works great! amzn.to/3V0Jy49
How do you store the new cannisters? I don't feel comfortable with a case of flammables in the house.
I store them in the garage.
Can you remove the can of Butane if you want to store the stove for awhile? How long would 1 can last?
Yes, you can remove the can.
You're lucky you have Teddy in a position to leap into action if the errant bear or moose wanders too close.
Definitely, Teddy has a bark for people, moose, and bear.
Can you leave the butane cartridge in place when you're done or do your remove the can from the stove and cap it again?
I leave it when I am staying at camp, and remove it when I leave or move the stove.
Sometimes I add a potato to my chili if I over spiced. I really do like that cabin sink set up. And of course Teddy was adorable keeping watch.
Thanks for watching!
I add corn, but not because of over spicing, just because I like it.
I haven't got this type of stove, but have used butane stoves before. Cowboy coffee in a sauce pan was a regular thing. Gotta have that good old bean juice...
Bless your heart, I too am a bug magnet. Im getting a fan installed in front of my kitchen door on pourch to hope of being able to sit in swing & not be bitten by deer or horse flies. Maybe a small solar fan for you to eat in peace.😊
I commented once before, but putting your wash water in used empty detergent bottles is a great idea. Been looking at butane stoves, just not sure how many cans u need so u dont run out.
I do simple cooking, and find the butane canisters last quite a few days. If you plan simple foods like cereal and sandwiches, heating up easy meals, they last a long time.
I have commented a few times too, and I didn't think about the empty detergent bottles for wash water. It is a great idea. You can even store water in them for potential emergency use and I bet it would still be good to wash with if you need it.
Great idea with the soup! And Teddy is precious (as usual)! 🥰
Thanku for showing stove up close i have been wanting 2 of them now i have to go fine them cant shop on line bless day😊
I'm so glad to see Teddy doing well.
Thank you so much!
What a great idea to use rice and tomatoes to extend a can of soup!’ Love your smarts! I’ve done some long term exploring where we ran out of food. I can assure anyone reading this, when you are hungry, your brain rewires itself, and anything edible looks DELICIOUS..
Thanks for encouraging others. Yes, get that prepper mindset working, and you can do what it takes.
AG, when I cook rice I bring the liquid to a full boil, stir in the rice, cover with a lid and turn off the burner completely. After 15 to 20 minutes the rice is cooked and just needs a little fluffing up. Perhaps this would work for your recipe, saving some gas and no stirring necessary.
That's a great idea! I do that sometimes, too.
Hello!
Great rescue idea👍
Bought a portable stove last year in case we went without electricity. Due to storms in Texas, I’ve already used it once!
Keep the ideas and helpful ants coming🤗👍
Glad you had the stove and were able to use it!!
hello dear granny, today I've purchased that tiny stove plus 10 gas canisters👍thank you for all you do❤
I also bought me a really efficient tiny stove..what type did you get?
one just like in the video @@PurpleHeartRecipient
Thank you, I will definstely pick up a simmer plate. Your enchilada soup was so nice and thick it would make a yummy burrito. Add sliced olives and can of black or pinto beans if needed to stretch recipe.
Teddy the explorer so cute.
What a great idea, thanks.
I'm so glad to see Teddy doing well.
Thank you! Our butane stove worked wonderfully for us when an ice storm knocked out our power. Gas One also sells a similar stove that runs on either butane or propane.
Good to know!
Great idea !
Glad you think so!
I see this style of butane stove in almost generic brand names from time to time at relatively inexpensive prices. I believe the same likely applies to the fuel cans. So with careful shopping you may find a real deal on the stoves and fuel.
Thanks for the info!
Useful info. Thanks.
I'd donate them to food pantry if I wasn't fond of it
Love my stove AG❤❤❤❤
😷💚
Those butane stoves are excellent! Everyone should have one and a case of bottles, just in case. I feel the same way about the metal hurricane lamps and lanterns that burn lamp oil. Both (lamps and stove) are bomb proof, easy, simple and safe to use once you learn, provided you have and use common sense. In addition to lamp oil, It's nice to have a spare wick and globe for the lanterns. I think these are two of the most valued pieces of my grid down prepping gear.
TY Granny.
Thanks, AG!! Happy Friday
You too!
Really enjoyed visiting with you! 💕🙏🦋
God bless you, for sharing.
This is delicious and easy to make, thanks to you, and enjoy.
🙏🥰👍🌷✨🌹🌼❤️🌸🌟💫🌺
Thank you so much.
