I played a few shows with Nina 4 or 5 years back, and she is about the nicest, most gracious person you will ever meet, not to mention a ton of talent.
Awesome! Nita is the coolest! She pulled my daughter and some other kids onstage and gave them a show they'll never forget! Me either, for that matter! It would have been memorable had that not happened, but for her to do that forever cemented her as our all time fave! Great role model, too! Maybe a shootout is in order where Joe shreds and Nita throws down some wicked blues licks.
Thank you both for such a great interview. Stressing the business side is so important if you want to do music for a living. Controlling your brand, work ethics, and the self promotion is all great advice! The health side of it, for the longevity of your career, was to me, the most important takeaway from this great interview!!

This was great! I love Nita! She is a monster player and a great person, Thank you Nita for the hand stretching warm up’s i do it all the time now, it really helps alot. Can’t wait to see you both again.
Fantastic interview! Loved Nita in The Iron Medians, I've saw Alice Cooper twice since she was added to his lineup. She dose an amazing job! Thanks Joe!
Nita is a Queen! Those of us that are old enough to remember how powerful Lita Ford was in the ‘80s I feel that same tingle of seeing the girl you have a crush on as I did then.
It's funny, when I tell people I like heavy bands like Symphony X or Dream Theater they'll say "oh you must be a millennial. " Then they're shocked when I tell them I'm 60! So Joe, your age doesn't dictate your musical interests.
Joe, sorry ‘when your talking about your food diet your face is priceless...I’ve been there ten times I’ve finally given up LOL However I do have 20 years on ya .. When or if you get married Unless you pick the perfect little girl Your doomed , and it s not all at once it sneaks up on you ... peace. LOL mounds of mash ... Nita is a hustler... nice work..
Getting geeky here: Depth measurements can be done with things like sonar and other technologies that are accurate to less than an inch, so the figure Joe tossed out can be taken with a good deal of confidence. Of course there may be undiscovered deeper spots. I’m also a little curious as to Joe referring to himself as a boomer when a person born in 1977 would be Gen X. I have a feeling he means his spirit is more boomer than Gen X.
Nita Strauss, about your dad’s saying, I told it to my husband and he loved it...... “If you’re early, you’re on time. If you’re on time, you’re late. And if you’re late, you’re fired!” Hubby had arrived home a little late from grocery shopping! LOL 😂 ❤️ 😂
The Journey Tribute band "Departure" played NOLA's House of Blues and the lead guitarist's lcr cable was bad (no sound) for two-and-a-half songs in the middle of the gig. We kinda noticed. I mean, c'mon... Journey and no lead guitar? I'd have preferred they stopped and started the first song over.
Where the heck did she hide 50 lbs.?! I just watched a bunch of Nita videos from 2014 and she still looked fantastic at what she’s describing here as her heaviest.

The problem with pay to play shows is that rich kids just buy the tickets and don't bring anybody. There is no scene, there is no crowd, and the promoters don't mind because they make their money they don't care who shows up or not.. the promoters don't do their job, which is to promote the show, to get the show to be popular. They're just renting a room to people with money.

Nita's got skills for sure! Was supposed to see Alice Cooper w/Nita last summer, but we all know what happened...
Great interview....how about Robin Trower, Frank Marino, Ted Nugent and the great Phil Keaggy.
