I nailed three rainbows like that today and had as many nip without being hooked. Lake in central Suffolk. They only put 8 inchers in that lake. Good eating size but I let them go for someone else. Am thinking of Seven Lakes Drive in Harriman on Friday. Lakes galore. Otherwise the lake near me that gets the 12 - 15 inch browns. And I am going to hit Kensico and Cross River reservoirs. Scouted Cross River already. If you put in the time they have real nice big trout. Never caught a lake trout. Those lakes have nice Small mouth and Large mouth bass also. The Ospreys are out. Three over the lake I fished. I grew up on Mepps but the Rooster tails cast further. A 1/6 Rooster tail is small enough for those trout also, not really much bigger in size than a #1 Mepps. Mepps have much nicer hardware.
@@Bsprecksfishing Get the DEC permit online (free) and they have basic maps of the lakes on the Internet. When you scout them good shore spots will reveal themselves by a few parked cars. Kensico is closest and has nice deepwater spots around the shoreline. Also many RUclips videos on the various lakes. Always be aware of deer ticks, they are small and Lyme disease can mess you up. Seven lakes drive in Harriman is beautiful. Lakes roadside and it leads to Bear mountain. Nice family day trip and place for a picnic.
Saw young man nail around 6 using 1/64 oz trout magnet. Largest about 10” but most were around 8”. They only stocked 370. Bill got a nice 12” and Len got one around 10”. I snagged a rock after a few hits. 😬
video with the baby is so enjoyable. last time the little hands try to grab the lure now this time was the net
Baby gets cuter every day!
Thank you!
In a few more weeks, you may not want to be too close to those swans. 🤣
Forreal! Thanks for watching!
Quite a few were caught at TP just after it was stocked this afternoon.
