Building Climate Action Alliances with Large Emitters in the Borough

Councils cannot achieve borough wide-targets alone. On the contrary, a council’s direct emissions are commonly less than 3% of the borough total. Therefore exploring new avenues of influence, collaboration and engagement with key organisations and citizens in the borough is crucial.
In this webinar, Jonny Sadler, Programme Director for the Manchester Climate Change Agency, shared how he has developed a climate action programme for a number of large emitting public and private sector organisations in the borough. He explored the key challenges and benefits this has brought, and how the programme is shaping policy action within Manchester City Council.
