This is the irony and duality of life here. From the deeper darkness shines the brightest light ; from the despair of a broken heart, echoes the undying love for a departed soul. Clear voices, harsh voices, melodies, heavy riffs, all coming together to create a piece of art.
Wow, this is something different altogether. I mean, it's not a typical single, it's merely one chapter of a journey to the heart of its composer. The impact is heart-wrenching on its own, but I can't wait to hear it in a right context. I feel Moonflowers is going to be painful, yet somehow comforting, to listen for someone who has lost a loved one. In a way Aleah's memory is present here maybe more than ever.

Maybe it's because he writes his songs about his late girlfriend Aleah Stanbridge that passed away from cancer. I really wish you people who say your fans of a band take a few moments out of your social media life and look into the bands and songs that you enjoy. If it wasn't for Type O Negative, I wouldn't know this band. Unfortunately way too many of favorite bands are dying off because of certain things. Woods of Ypres, Type O Negative and I was and will always be a fan of Aleah Stanbridge solo music, and especially Trees of Eternity that she created with Juha, who created Swallow the Sun and Hallatar. I've lost my grandpa and my dad to cancer lately and this and the other bands I listed have helped me cope my own way when others think it's worse that I listen to this type music. It's just who I am and who I love to be.

Mine might be broken, but it's different when the other person is safe and doing well. After listening to this song I'm grateful for that. They might be lost for me, but not for the world.
I adore the fragility in their music. It's hard to describe, but StS has become an emotional anchor to me through that. The composition of gloom, beauty and despair is always spot on.
With their music they obviously manifest, how merciless, freezing and dismal sorrow is, and as if you getting used to it, once you dedicate your love to grief within. Something like this I feel inside The real appearance of sorrow their music expresses, of course Songs of Swallow the Sun freeze my blood, I often get goosebumps Don't judge my English, not my native language, and one of those reasons, I can't totally describe all my impressions and delights
Thank you for creating such good music! I've had a crush on a best friend, who was like a diary to me, I could tell her everything. There was a time when I missed her, we lost touch, because ov an argument, whenever I was lonely, I'd listen to your music. It gave me courage to reach out to tell her how much I missed her, she told me the same, I screen shot what she messaged & kept it ever since. I was so happy she was back in my life. We fell for each but it didn't work out, lost touch again because ov my stupidity, my jealousy. But I kept thinking ov her because I adored her, she was beautiful inside & out. A great mother to her child. Then a few years my sister in law took her life. She was the only one who'd tell me how my kids were doing because my other in laws hated me. Then my best friend, the woman I was still in love with took her life as well. I was devastated because we weren't talking at the time. I was planning on telling her how much I missed her. Then a month later my little brother took his life. And ever since all I've been doing was living in fear & sorrow, I worked nonstop & bought so many things, tvs, books, things to distract me from all emotion. But tonight my coworkers told me not to come in because I'm too sick to work, but man, I just feel so alone not working. I can't stop my tears. I can't seem to open up to anyone, but I thank you for creating such beautiful music that sort ov expresses how I feel. Metal music always gives me courage one way or another. Keep rocking! 🤘🏽
I was thinking the exact same thing. Reminded me so much of Broken mirror. Couldn’t help but break down in tears listening to this. It’s just that moving.
Absolutely beautiful beyond words… the spirit of Aleah is strong in this one. Reminds me so much of Broken Mirror. I honestly couldn’t help but tear up while listening to this. It’s just a beautiful illustration on how fragile, yet precious life is.

I toured as a support band for swallow the sun and moonsorrow back in 2007. Unfortunately I did not know the band before the tour but became a huge fan after the tour. I am so full of regret that I did not soak in each and every show back then. But on tour it is hard to get to know the discography in detail… btw, the guys were all amazing and polite on tour… no exception. Glad to see you still on top!
For me music is the artistic expression of personal emotions. Well done for doing that and remembering us there is still emotion and need for expression in all this chaos especially in arts and generally in life.
This song is mesmerizing. Its message is simple and yet so beautiful. Hearttouching and cold at once, depressive for the bereavement of beloved one. Release it in autumn date and you are the master a like a precious master chef who know when to serve which meal. These guys know when and how to serve their thoughts, feelings and ideas through music.
Beautiful, got me in tears. By listening this song I can feel what Juha must have been feeling when writing this. So much meaning behind the lyrics and melodies.
This is the sound of a band who have mastered their craft and yet still manage re-invent themselves with each new project. This album is going to be solid.
Love how much emotion there was in the growls. And I like that it was only a smaller part, the song didn't need alot of harsh vocals. It kind of feels like the song started out dealing with the shock of loss and then later grief and anger became overwhelming, and the growls really represented that. So glad to hear new StS.
They've already mastered this kind of effect in their songs. It's a style that as far as I know is theirs alone. Cathedral Walls is another great song they used it masterfully.
