Let me tell you a story: It was 2016, and I had traveled to the US with a J-1 visa. Got a ticket to see these guys in Houston for the very first time after listening to their music for 15 years. This was the first song they played. Found out it was Aleksi´s last concert and we got to chat a bit and he invited me into their bus. So I got to chill with the whole STS crew except for Juha that didn't make it there because of what happened to Aleah. Good times though.

From my point of view I could find 2 interpretations for this video The first one is that the girl has a twin that died but she keeps bringing her back and remembering whilst her mother just wants to forget her. Thats why she runs away and wants to keep her safe from suffering (remembering her dead sister) this one was just by watching the video. The second one is about the lyrics and video I think it is about confronting what Psyquiatrist Carl Jung calls "the Shadow" which is a part of our self that is hidden in the subconscious and contains every thing we despice and hate, the bad things about ourselves that we "project" on others. So the Kid has to recognize her shadow and fight it. The older women could be her as a grown up and everything is happening in her mind where her true self and her shadow are in a battle of opposites forces.
Are you sure it's the same house? The one on the album cover seems to me to be taller and the one in this video wider, more spread with some rooms on the sides
This is their best release. For months I only listened to part 1 and 2 but because I couldn't stop. Now I am finally listening to part 3 and I have to say part 3 is the ultimate closing for the album. Slow, heavy, doomy and despair. Amazing, amazing album!
It's beautiful how this band manages to speak through their music, they don't need fancy solos, or hard riffs, just raw emotion and feeling. Very inspiring band to say the least.

It seems that Swallow the Sun tried to mix their style with other style (Not sure which though). Aaaaand they actually did a pretty good job, this song feels refreshing to their style in general. Cant wait to buy myself the album. Excelent job, Swallow!

The house represents the home and the past, specifically the idea of a childhood past before you have to face the hardships of the adult world. The mother tries to save the girl from being negatively influenced and forcing her to grow up. Not sure if you've seen the movie Silent Hill (I don't mean the video games but the first movie) as it plays off a very similar theme. I actually wonder if the director of this music video was inspired by that movie, actually, because of the similarity in themes, but anyway, the girl in the dark dress isn't per se an alter ego or the ego, but it's just negative feelings and influence of dealing with life's hardship when you grow up. Miko is burning down the house because it represents the loss of that childhood because home doesn't exist anymore. The home, especially the childhood home, is supposed to represent an image of goodness, joy, etc. but this is lost and destroyed. Hence not just derelict but burnt down. The fire could arguably represent feelings of anger in relation to the pain of loss. It's very much in line with the rest of the lyrical content of the album(s), the idea of losing innocence/purity.

it's likely the latter but the former resonates more with me as I too was a twin who lost my brother when I was young.
