She'll be riddled with PTSD be on medication for life. This is a very traumatic event. She'll be asking herself "could I've acted faster, etc".
Haha Nice where did you get your facts from History channel ? Unit 731 was a very small group of Japanese scientists doing shit in CHINA. I live in Hiroshima and I can tell you that the only military target was a mustard gas factory on an island 27.5 miles from the impact zone of the a bomb. I can tell you that the factory wasnt destroyed by the bomb. What was destroyed by the bomb was the city and civilian homes. The troops you are talking about where students helping out building air defences.
Hiroshima had 43,000 Japanese soldiers of the 2nd Army, under Field Marshal Hata in the city and 20k-30k died in the bombing, it was a legitimate military target just like the cities in Germany.
Obviously these ladies feel genuine sorrow for both sides; it was a time of war in which many people lost their lives. The atomic bomb killed thousands upon thousands indiscriminately; men, women and children lost their lives for a war that caused millions of deaths worldwide. They were not taught that they were victims the reason being: these people are without a shadow of a doubt victims. I'm sure that America has never used any atrocity to gain any politic leverage at all; has it?
Its complicated. Various persons within the military refused to surrender. Most of them where loyal to Emperor Hirohito. The Potsdam declaration was faulty. It included some points which posed impossibility for Japanese to accept. 1 the elimination of all of those who "embarked" on world domination. It included Hirohito himself to step down. Japanese people would never support it. The other fact was that Russia was on the way to invade Japan. So removing all military force was also hard.
@gogman25 (1)Your first comment; "I cry for neither side but I feel sorrow, and I can promise you no matter what they did it's something the USA shouldn't have done. "Be careful when fighting monsters lest you become one."" Since the U.S. and the U.K. have had past wars because of U.K. aggression (oops this isn't about WWII) you just may be right or maybe NOT. Gosh golly gee limey boy do you think that if the U.S. wasn't attacked by japan we wouldn't be talking about this? Duh.
What if this would have happened to America??? You guys would not debate who is the good guy and who was the bad... it would be obvious, and so it is obvious in this situation
@gogman25 The Allies shouldn't have stopped a long and bloody war? You prefer to have the fighting go on for a much longer period of time in which most likely many millions more would have died terrible and gruesome deaths? You are freaky.
@gogman25 My 1st reply to your 1st comment; "The Allies shouldn't have stopped a long and bloody war? You prefer to have the fighting go on for a much longer period of time in which most likely many millions more would have died terrible and gruesome deaths? You are freaky." And then your comment to that was about 250,00 civilian deaths. How WRONG you are. Those "civilians" were in FACT trained by the j-govt to fight and kill the would be Allied invasion. They were in FACT soldiers.
its not about JAPAN or the USA OR ANY CONTRY FOR THAT MATTER it is much much bigger then that its about being a HUMAN BEING CAN YOU COMPREHEND THAT OPEN YOUR CLOSED MINDS WE ALL HAVE TO SHARE THIS PLANET
Many of Hibakusya had experienced harsy discrimination for employment and marriage in Japan. For women, it was a lot more difficult to marry since the future huband re-consider of theri fertility. I heard some women killed themrselve due to those severe discrimination. and also they do not receive enough compensation fee from government to live comfortably due to very limited social policies.
There where some lack of communication about that towards the Japanese. Furthermore victorious nations such as America kept on doing war crimes trials which where highly biased. I´m really sure that if an non combatant country would have hold the war crimes tribunal , America would as well be convicted for the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atom bombings.
Nothing good comes from war, full stop. Seek other means. Suffering can be imposed by economic predation too. Just think about what you're doing, what's going on. Civialian populations usually have no quarrel with one another. It's the vested interests that whip things up
@dreamrealm3 Do you also cry for the Allied civilians who were interned by the japanese? They were enslaved, beaten, tortured, raped, and murdered for absolutely no reason. Do you cry for them too or is this a one way street with you?
Well im tired to talk with American nationalists who has already made up they´re mind that it was justifiable. Yes the second and fifth Japanese troups where located in Hiroshima prefecture and there where also a mustard gas factory....Problem is that they where unaffected by it (physically) the companies where located outside hiroshima shi (city) and the mustard gas factory was on a island pretty far away. So what did they bomb destroy and who died?
@Coolbeanzow 1st- japan didn't need to start a war. 2nd- Those American military people were sleeping when they were attacked. wow, how brave of the "honorable" japanese. 3rd- The j- civilians were in FACT trained by their leaders to fight and kill against the would be Allied invasion. They already did so on Okinawa. Would you of rather seen Okinawa x 10? The j-civs were in FACT soldiers.
Well America and Japan was on the right way to sit down and try to make a surrender. Problem was America wanted to deal with it quickly. They wrote the Potsdam declaration which was completely useless. It basically said "you do as we say otherwise we nuke you" It did not take much in consideration. Well I would have used Hirohito to end the war , and also proposed protection against russian / chinese invasion If weapons where completely put down. Much like the arrangement of today.
1. Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the deaths were overwhelming civilian, not soldiers. 2. The idea that millions would have dies in an invasion is bull shit, every major US General from Eisenhower to Mac Arthur opposed the use of the bomb because Japan was effectively defeated. Do a little bit of research instead of spewing out the official party lines
/watch?v=4E4WuCq2owQ You may find that video interesting since your convinced that an advanced nation do not seem to criticize their own government. "Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants. We know more about war that we know about peace, more about killing that we know about living." - Omar N. Bradley.
@gogman25 Hypocrite much? Argument? Take a look in the mirror again. Besides you invented concentration camps well before WWII and calling them The Naughty Juniors camp is an exercise in denial.
well they were communist and they were smart enough and evil enough to fight with the nazis and the communist but its when these sad individual stories com eout and they act all sad then thats when they are all inoccient
I know I’m probably not going to be popular in saying this but as my man Will Smith said, “don’t start none there won’t be none” what about the family’s of those entombed at Pearl Harbor? No we shouldn’t apologize, it was started by them, it ended by us. Hatred isn’t the answer, but we are not going to sit idly by while we are slaughtered......
@sonamybaby102 i mean it was bad that this happen but shit lol they started it they had it coming, but do understand that my heart is with those innocent families
Excuses? NOT HARDLY! For Truman NOT to have used the the bombs would have been inexcuseable. To quote a great book (which I'm sure you never have and never will read- William Manchester's "Goodbye, Darkness" (Manchester was a USMC sergeant whose regiment fought on Okinawa, and suffered 81% casualties): "Thank God for the Atomic bombs"
Biological? No. Atomic. Ironically enough, my godfather, a retired DVM who is now past 90 was working on bioweapons at a base in the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Had the war continued to the end of '45, we would've used them and the results for Japan would've been catastrophic. The justification for the A bombs was ending the war rapidly- with less loss of life than any other alternative PS have you *ever* talked to a vet of the Pacific War?
@palcatt Of course the world would be a better place if we all held hands and sang kumbaya together. That would be great. But the world isn't like that and The Germans and the Japanessee in the 30's certainly weren't like that when they were violently and forcefully taking over countries to expand their empires. And let's remember, we wouldn't have got involved if the Japanesse didn't strike us first.
@lofotkillern yes if you know your histor yand actualy looked into this you would know, the US droped fliers the privious weeks and days tellin all civilians to leave, but th civilians didnt listen because they had never been bombed before and they were tired of leaving again and again after false warnings
Excuses? HELL, NO! Try actually looking at Truman's other alternatives: 1. Compromise peace? J militarists retain power; start planning Pacific War II 2. Invasion? S. Kyushu alone would've been Okinawa x5 3. Indefinite blockade? How many MILLIONS of J civilians would've died before Hirohito gave the order to surrender? Secretary of War Stimson was 100% correct when he said the atomic bombs were "our least abhorrent choice"
"We need to abolish atomic/nuclear bombs/weapons" Well, sure they are not great when they are actually used on you, but we didn't bomb Japan when they had nuclear weapons, we had no risk of being bombed back with the same power. Unlike today, where some country would bomb back with nuclear power if you bombed them, ex, if you bombed North Korea, either they would bomb you back, or one of their allies would do it, effectively starting WW3. So you can thank nuclear weapons for existing to prevent more wars and more importantly, World Wars.
Should have thought about that Before Pearl Harbor, the Philippines, Wake Island, Guam the Baton Deathmarch, ect ect ect. I have little to sympathy, I'm not sorry. You would have happily dropped it on us. You got what you had coming and personally I would have dropped more than just two.
I'm curious what right-wing US Christian beliefs are on killing for a war? The death penalty? Mass murder of innocents, such as Hiroshima? Or do their religious beliefs only apply to Americans and American laws?
Actually most people (like today) didn't want war. It was the government and the military. Innocent people are caught in the middle.

Potsdam Declaration made NO mention of the emperor. (it also stated J ppl would eventually choose their own govt) J govt did not ask for clarification, PM Suzuki: "mokusatsu"
All Japanese news outlets derided PD
They want to ban atomic bombs? Let's ban aircraft and warplanes… because you know PEARL HARBOR!
no occupation and emperor remains absolute ruler
omg people.... just watch the video, leave your opinion, and stop criticizing people for leaving THEIR opinions... no one really cares what someone on the internet things of what they're saying... honestly... get a life.
@MrMike3865 Did you not pay attention to the beginning of this? In clear english you were told that they were only children at that time. A child doesn't understand what things like this mean... If they're cheering then they're only doing what everyone else is. They don't deserve to suffer the consequences of something that they're GOVERNMENT did.
The Japanese want to talk about Hiroshima, but they don’t ever want to talk about Nanking or the Philippines.

To the female officer with her irritating voice, this man was just a junkie. She couldn't care less.
What were the million questions about?
Problem is she will never live in peace. She'll be riddled with PTSD be on medication for life. This is a very traumatic event. She'll be asking herself "could I've acted faster, etc".
@benitojuarez1234 God bless you Benito. We all have an opinion and yours and mine are different. I bow out with my opinion gracefully.
Your miss informed Japanese was on the brink of giving up. They had already taken contact to surrender!
Not true, please research what the Japenese military was doing the after the bomb was dropped.
@ladyxkikyou you're my hero
We all look at the suffering of the Japanese, not the brutal side of what they did.
Although I am only 39 I am so sorry and ashamed that my country of origin commited this unspeakable horror.
i understand what you mean....
@gogman25 (1)Your first comment; "I cry for neither side but I feel sorrow, and I can promise you no matter what they did it's something the USA shouldn't have done.
"Be careful when fighting monsters lest you become one.""
Since the U.S. and the U.K. have had past wars because of U.K. aggression (oops this isn't about WWII) you just may be right or maybe NOT. Gosh golly gee limey boy do you think that if the U.S. wasn't attacked by japan we wouldn't be talking about this? Duh.
What if this would have happened to America??? You guys would not debate who is the good guy and who was the bad... it would be obvious, and so it is obvious in this situation
study your history be for you troll .
It has happened, on a smaller scale. Doesn’t make it any less bad. December 7th, 1941 and September 11th, 2001.
Very sad
@mi622na I watched and cried and im only 14
There where some lack of communication about that towards the Japanese.
Do you cry for them too or is this a one way street with you?
tard
exactly
Well im tired to talk with American nationalists who has already made up they´re mind that it was justifiable. Yes the second and fifth Japanese troups where located in Hiroshima prefecture and there where also a mustard gas factory....Problem is that they where unaffected by it (physically) the companies where located outside hiroshima shi (city) and the mustard gas factory was on a island pretty far away. So what did they bomb destroy and who died?
Yes I have been there also but can you honestly validate such horror as this well, I suppose you could but I stand ashamed.
Do a little bit of research instead of spewing out the official party lines
while reading my comment don't you know you have a bomb near at your face either on your pockets. iT's called cellphone 😂
Rustiko Malu yes, one of mom’s friend got seriously injured.
Your sick , u !
You remember the pilipino suffer too much because of your old government
@tokyopiglet Discrimination of any kind in japan is rampant. Nothing new. The js, in fact, are a very prejudiced people. Fact.
/watch?v=4E4WuCq2owQ
You may find that video interesting since your convinced that an advanced nation do not seem to criticize their own government.
"Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants. We know more about war that we know about peace, more about killing that we know about living." - Omar N. Bradley.
What "attack"? It makes me sick that the js intentionally, continually play the 'we are the victim' card.
@gogman25 Hypocrite much? Argument? Take a look in the mirror again. Besides you invented concentration camps well before WWII and calling them The Naughty Juniors camp is an exercise in denial.
Yes but what about Pearl Harbor?
Good and happy for japanese
Welcome to the internet.
@Macmittens411 boring.
well they were communist and they were smart enough and evil enough to fight with the nazis and the communist but its when these sad individual stories com eout and they act all sad then thats when they are all inoccient
Be scared of women with chopsticks...
What a massive idiotic generalisation. What a foolish thing to say.
@sonamybaby102 i mean it was bad that this happen but shit lol they started it they had it coming, but do understand that my heart is with those innocent families
@Macmittens411 Hahaha. Way to bring down the troll, eh?
@sonamybaby102 lol lets not flame, we won u lost
Excuses? NOT HARDLY!
For Truman NOT to have used the the bombs would have been inexcuseable.
To quote a great book (which I'm sure you never have and never will read- William Manchester's "Goodbye, Darkness" (Manchester was a USMC sergeant whose regiment fought on Okinawa, and suffered 81% casualties):
"Thank God for the Atomic bombs"
@howiseethings Hahaha. Way to bring down the troll, eh?
Biological? No. Atomic.
Ironically enough, my godfather, a retired DVM who is now past 90 was working on bioweapons at a base in the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Had the war continued to the end of '45, we would've used them and the results for Japan would've been catastrophic.
The justification for the A bombs was ending the war rapidly- with less loss of life than any other alternative
PS have you *ever* talked to a vet of the Pacific War?
@asgarnon ppl like u live in a box
Ha.. Im A German. We Didn't DO Anything Bad
Liar !!!!
Wrong, they were dropped on Hirshima and Nagasaki, shouldn't have attacked the coast of the USA.
fail
Excuses? HELL, NO! Try actually looking at Truman's other alternatives:
1. Compromise peace? J militarists retain power; start planning Pacific War II
2. Invasion? S. Kyushu alone would've been Okinawa x5
3. Indefinite blockade? How many MILLIONS of J civilians would've died before Hirohito gave the order to surrender?
Secretary of War Stimson was 100% correct when he said the atomic bombs were "our least abhorrent choice"
Yeah, nukes are a necessary evil, as long as they don't land in your country, right?
"We need to abolish atomic/nuclear bombs/weapons"
Well, sure they are not great when they are actually used on you, but we didn't bomb Japan when they had nuclear weapons, we had no risk of being bombed back with the same power.
Guess all that stuff goes out the window when countries want to see your everyone in your country DEAD!
boring
