King's Quit: The hack that mixes up all the voices

  • This is a Frankenstein version of King's Quest V. I'm mostly playing the standard version of the game released in 1990, except the voice resources are accessed from the Sierra Originals version of the game released in 1995. Apparently the newer version shuffled up the indexing for all the recordings.
I've never seen this before, so you're getting my live reactions to the hilarity that's about to ensue.

Oh, I will certainly be picking my way through this during this week! "King's Quit" has always been one of my favorite odd game quirks and it'll be fun to see it played by someone who is actively looking to explore it!

I can't blame low view counts on those who showed up! Thanks for watching!

The more I watch of this, the more I wish I had caught it live. This is hilarious. Cedric saying "Hope you enjoy!" as you drown in the river, or him speaking in the third person to inform you that he's too busy to talk to you is so freaking great.

It appears to be an average stick of wood HONEY!. ROFL. This video is hilarious. I can see the possibilities with this concept with KQ6 and maybe KQ7 if KQ7 is even possible since it is on the newer version of the SCI engine than what KQ5 and KQ6 ran on in terms of the mixed up voices go and not audio insertion from one game to another like you mentioned earlier in the Video.

Narrator: I hope you enjoy your C#$&.
    King Graham: Nut!
Death Message: It will cost you one ONE GOLD COIN to see Madame Mushka.
Well, you tell me what that implies.

Because that sounds exactly like "Death by Prostitute Debt"!

About the Death @6:03:00 and how the artist drew the scene to make it look like it was from a zoomed out prospective and the programmer messed it up by making it to look like it was from a Zoomed in prospective makes sense to me because how far Graham falls to his death based on the programmer's prospective and not the artist who drew the scene. Makes me wonder if Ken or Roberta would remember if this scene was meant to be from a Zoomed out prospective and not from a Zoomed in prospective by showing them that death scene.
