Lovely set, well done both of you. I think the second jig is Out in the Ocean and the third is Cliffs of Moher- let me know if I got those tune names wrong... thanks for posting.
I have a 1993 album by Robin called 'Green Fields,' and in the booklet he writes about playing a cittern (cittern is typically an instrument with 10 strings in five courses), but strung with eight strings and tuned to GDAD like an Irish bouzouki. A cittern is typically about the size of an octave mandolin, though often with a larger body, but not always. So, I think what he's playing here is a cittern (my guess is one that was custom-made for him) with 8 strings instead of 10 strings, with a scale length similar to an octave mandolin (shorter than an Irish bouzouki), and tuned in the typical GDAD Irish bouzouki tuning. 😅 A short-scale bouzouki with a larger body would be one way to think of the instrument he is playing here.
For further reference, he mentions also in the 'Green Fields' booklet that the cittern he played on that album (different one than here based on the booklet pictures) was made by luthier Stefan Sobell.
Great stuff Sue and Robin 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Awesome
Simply wonderful! Thanks so much for posting these
Sue is a fabulous teacher and retreat leader. Had the wonderful blessing of having her as a retreat teacher at O'Flaherty's Irish Retreat.

Thanks Sue!
wow! Do you have the sheet music for the harp (and guitar)? I would love to play this as a harpist
Thanks so much for this. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is this a mandocello (please don't say 'no, it's a harp' :0
I asked the same question on one of the other videos! I think it is a Mandocello, too.
@@jacdixie I think it is an octave mandolin (or a mandolla) between mandolin and mandocello.
