Build a similar jig at an angle and them you can slide the jig over the notch and hog out some of the wood and finish off with less chisel work.
I just saw this the other day. It was included in your video on making a picnic table.
What do you think of the idea of someone developing a circular saw that can handle a small dado blade? Say up to 3/8"?
That;s a million dollar idea right there!!
A router with a straight bit might be an alternative.
They exist, like Mafell has what is essentially a circular planer and there's a few kits for skilsaws as well as some vintage tools that had that feature... I tried posting photos but apparently that's not allowed.
Don't forget to set your blade depth deeper by 3/4"

Think this jig would work for a corded circular saw too :) .
Sometimes you do tips that are so obvious it makes me want to kick myself for not thinking of it myself.
Okay but why not just use a speed square??
You could but it doesn't show the exact path of the blade. And you can make this from scrap instead of buying it.
