I love these. Elvis had a great book collection also. There's a Gates of Graceland that shows some his books. They found some notes that Elvis wrote. Even football plays. 😊 Elvis loved football. The NFL did a documentary of him.❤ This was great to watch Thanks 😊
@HeavenlyPresley-Tonya I saw a short interview where Elvis had a mark or bruise on his face and he said he had been playing football on roller skates. I've never heard anything like that so I was amazed. Have you seen that one?
Zakk, I have been an Elvis fan since the 60's I can see you are really and genuinely do feel the same way all us fans feel about him. His singing touches a place in our hearts, that gives us such a range of emotions, laughter, tears and make us think and reflect on the words and meanings of some of his songs. I had some of his music, but I did not till I was in my teens that I started to collect everything Elvis. When he passed I had a mission to get all the promotional records advertised on TV. I also collected all the tabloids, The Sun, The Enquirer and Star to name a few. I even have a 45 of Elvis, Hound Dog. I also have a TCB necklace and his program of when he performed in Chicago in 1977 that I attended. I know my children are not Elvis lovers and I am trying to decide what to do with my collection. I want someone, who will take care of it all and someone who truly respects who Elvis was and how he had such a beautiful soul and shared his amazing gift to the world.
Don't know about your singing , but you've got a killer smile Zakk ... love to see it ! Thanks for doing this deep dive on Elvis ... glad you're enjoying getting to know the real man that so many of us have loved forever ! You've barely scratched the surface ... it's a very long journey but well worth it !
Thank you for doing this. I really enjoyed listening and watching along with you. I can tell how much you enjoyed it and I wanted it to last much longer than it did too 😊
after elvis died they found the last record he played on his bedroom record player was a jd sumner & the stamps album (gospel quartet) jd sumner was someone elvis knew from his teenage years he would go to the gospel quartet shows and when he couldn't afford it jd would let him in the backdoor fast forward to the mid 70s when elvis needed a new male back up section to replace the imperials he ran down jd who had formed the stamps & asked him to please come onboard with him jd & stamps were with elvis every single show from 1971 to his death..(almost a thousand shows) jd & elvis were very close so its heartwarming that the last album he played in his bedroom....the room that jd & the stamps would keep elvis company singing gospel all night when he couldn't sleep or was troubled...lisa talks about them in there singing all night...that it was one of their albums he last heard
@zakkthrowback yeah... i believe that at graceland its still displayed in the museum as they found it with the stamps album still on it we know that the last song he ever sang was on his piano inside his racket ball court at graceland at about 4:00 am after a few games with a memphis mafia member & his wife... before they left the court elvis sat at the piano & sang a few songs the last being blue eyes crying in the rain...that was around 4:00am then about 2:30 pm they found him dead its also very bitter sweet because it's been said of his version in blues eyes crying in the rain its his eyes he's singing about losing & missing his mother....i really want to believe he was reunited with her on that afternoon
@@belinda35_77 Hi Belinda! Happy New Year to you hon! That was his cousin Billy & Jo Smith that played with him as I recall. I agree with you about his blue eyes crying in the rain. I truly don't believe he ever got over her death. The thought of Elvis, his mama and his baby girl together does warm my heart for sure. Belinda you would know, did Zakk watch Elvis' press conference when he got out of the Army in March 1960? Did he hear some of the singles he released in 1960 like It's Now or Never? I'm curious, because it seemed to me that he thought he covered all of 1960 Elvis or am I wrong? I ask you because I know that you know all of what he has done and not done regarding Elvis. You've been a great influence on him I must say. If you didn't get on him, I don't know where we'd be when it comes to our Elvis. So thank you very much my friend 🥳☺🎸🎹🎶🎼

mac davis was a big star in the 70s, but before that he wrote songs, including several for Elvis in the late 60s. "a little less conversation, "Memories", "In the Ghetto" and "Don't cry Daddy"
I saw Mac Davis in Vegas one year when I was out to see Elvis. This man loved Elvis. He was a great writer. He also appeared at Elvis Week through the years. As did other writers like Lieber and Stoller.
@zakkthrowback can't help it cause he was just using the technology of his time, but the point I like to make here is, he enjoyed the luxuries which the majority of people couldn't afford otherwise. Of course he earned it with his talent and absolutely deserved it.
Welcome to the New Year Zakk & as always, your enthusiasm is palpable. While I wasn't sure if you were clear about the records, with the small discs being 45s, and the larger ones 331/3 And one would just place a disc in those slots, you saw, as that was a built-into the wall juke box, which I believe, could send music throughout the house. Thought I'd mention, too, that although Frank hated Elvis, at first, Elvis eventually won him over. Sinatra didn't go to the ends of the earth, either, but he did make some phone calls near the end to try and help Elvis.
Man you've got to go to Graceland. It's so interesting, who inspired him, who associated with him. I just heard this morning that Donny Osmond of the Osmond Brothers, said when they were started in Vegas, Elvis really tried to help them. He told them to change their boring suits and had jumpsuits made by his designer to get them noticed. He thought of their mother who was their manager was very much like his mother Gladys. He often called her and ask what he could do to get them noticed. He sent her flowers every time they opened in Vegas. Funny story, Elvis had called their house wanting to talk with her, and a message was left to call him back at the Hilton. Sixteen year old Marie Osmond found the message with his number and told her Mom she wanted to call and talk to Elvis, and her mother said, "never'. Ha. Thanks Zakk, you don't have a bad voice, some real range there. 😄
Zakkarini, when did you record this? You do know who Mac Davis is! When you did the last live I was in, I brought up Lightnin Hopkins ( James Burton ) from when you listened to Hot August Night! Well, during that same concert ( Album ), Elvis acknowledged and thanked Davis for writing his hit called In The Ghetto. You even clapped for him 😂...Say, it doesn't matter what you listen to from Elvis in the future, because you will have forgotten! So no need to cover your eyes 😉😂

Yes, drivers could use built-in record players in their cars in the 1950s and 1960s, but it was problematic: Highway Hi-Fi Chrysler's first factory-installed record player was available in 1956. It was mounted under the dashboard and played 7-inch records designed specifically for the system. Chrysler claimed that the records wouldn't skip, even on sharp turns or railroad tracks. However, spinning a record while driving was still difficult. Other record players RCA, Norelco, and Phillips produced less expensive record players in the 1960s that could shuffle through multiple 45s. Consumer Reports found that these consoles worked well on the road with a heavier stylus.
Look at Charles..not beautiful.Listen to Charles..only one tone, one sound.Elvis had 50 singing voices and was gorgeous.Charles was so, so blatantly jealous.
Isn't that the truth. So many singers were jealous of Elvis, but Elvis was nice to fellow artist and help promote the careers of James Brown and Jackie Wilson.
I have seen so many of these "Gates of Graceland" Angie does such a great job in the Archives - I really enjoyed Elvis' book collection and cars!!!!
Mac Davis wrote some of Elvis' biggest hits in the late 60's - In The Ghetto, Little Less Conversation, Memories.

It’s too bad (sad) that Ray Charles didn’t like Elvis, and was one of those who mistakenly believed that Elvis was racist.
