    Option 1) Use your 3 to take the park in the bottom row and place it next to your two apartment buildings.
    Option 2) Use your 4 to take the harbor in the fourth row and place it in the top left corner of your board.
    SO jealous that you get to play this!!

      +Nick Huston If option 1 works then you should use your two piece to grab the three people building and put it next to your new park

    My suggestion is to use your 4 to take the 2vp harbor from the right side (beside the 2vp Public service) & place it on the top left corner. Below are my reasons for why:
    .
    Unfortunately you can't really stop Pep from building his 4th public service in the orange sector. Still it'll be worse if he can get the 2VP harbor & place it in 1-2 (row 1 column 2), as that's an additional 8 points from the factories & bonus VP. However to do this he must grab both a PS & a harbour with a 1 & 2.
    .
    By doing that move, Pep won't be able to get the remaining harbor or a Public Service with a 1. He'll still be able to grab them with a 2, but using up his 2 to grab the harbor makes it impossible for him to get the 4th PS this round; if he grabs the PS in the 2nd row, you'll get the final harbor with a 1. If he grabs the PS in the 4th row, just grab the store with a 2 from below, & you'll still secure the final harbor for yourself. The store will go well in 2-2 beside your factory anyway & will come in handy since the final harbor will net you more people.

    I think using the 4 engineer to get the victory point harbor helps a lot. It also blocks off a lot of houses. Since he has lot's of factories you want to keep him from getting shops. So I think that after he picks his building you should take a shop, whether he took a shop already or not because you don't want him to have even more shops, use a 3 for that and use it for your own factory. (He'll probably get the shop with a 2 for the double factory boost, and place a shop down next with 3 if you won't stop him and then it would be one factory away from the chain of factory shop combo which we really don't want if possible take the shop that he could get with a 2) After that I think the harbor with a 1 or park with 2 dependent on which one is available, but I think the harbor is more important for victory points and there are 2 parks to pick with your 2 engineer so it is easier to pick up so I suggest picking the 1 harbor and put it into the corner and finish off with a park. Alternatively you can grab a factory instead of a park if you want to continue fighting the shop wars in future rounds. It is a bit of a gamble because you will rely on a shop that is a 2 but if it happens you will have your own factory shop combo.

      +carter grantham You can only take the piece that is in the position that matches the value of the architect that you used. Placing my "1" means I have to take a piece that is exactly "1 space" away from my architect.

    Not a gameplay suggestion but - would it be possible to put a white/black mat underneath where the resources are? the red-on-red makes it very difficult to see the energy pieces

      +‫עומר הרץ‬‎ It is a little tricky, isn't it? I'll just place them on top of the player mats next time.

    I dont think we can offer much help honestly, since its a turn by turn options game .... you can get a park with any of your architects ... but I think maximizing your point gain from the parks is better, maybe getting one more apartment complex ... a park or two may give the best combo value, aside that I dont know if you get points for most harbors or a combo of them ...

    • @AlexanderTF
      @AlexanderTF 8 лет назад

      +AlexanderTF a quick reminder of scoring bonuses and such would help the thinking process ... witch also makes me think that Pep will try to take the 3 meeples apartment, one of the harbors and 2 point law-firm ... he will probably try to steal one of the parks early on so maybe its best to keep the parks away for later ... and try wasting time so he would lose a turn or two ...

    Question, if you don't score for activated buildings until end game, what is the purpose of activating them early? Why not just wait till end game to place all of your pieces? Is it to try and keep track of what buildings you need to be able to get them all placed?

    Pepp took a public service. Was it against the rules?

      I shot this long enough ago, that I don't recall the rules to the game, but you'll find the full rules for how to play here if you want to check: ruclips.net/video/qX1G34GsZB8/видео.html

    In the How to Play video, the setup seemed pretty tedious. You (very appropriately) cut it out of this playthrough. In real life, does it affect your enjoyment of the game?

    • @WatchItPlayed
      @WatchItPlayed  8 лет назад +5

      +drkenfp I do it much quicker than what I even show on How To Play. I reach into the bag, grab a stack and then just quickly drop the pieces, from top left to bottom right onto the board. I don't worry about straightening them or flipping them over. I have the other players reach in and remove the appropriate tiles, flip and organize them, while I'm doing this and collectively we get is squared away pretty quickly.
