I really appreciate your reviews, thank you very much. One rule for comparing audio devices (microphones in your first round of testing) is that our ears almost always will prefer the Unit Under Test (UUT) that is the loudest (this is *especially* true when comparing loudspeakers!) The Bose output is substantially quieter than the others, so both your voice is quieter, but so is the background noise. I'm sure it would be a hassle to level match everything, but that would provide the optimum environment for comparing different UUTs. Having said all this, do you have a sense as to why the Bose mic test volume was so low? Thanks again Danny :)
Bro. Thank you. Thankyouthankyouthankyou for making such well-designed, well-executed reviews and comparisons, and it's even more impressive due to the constraints you're working around due to the state of the world these days. I only WISH I could find reviews this comprehensive and concise for every product I research. You should have a consulting gig helping other reviewers, and that's not even a joke. But I just started a new career as essentially a call-center CS agent, with my gf working basically the same job and only like 5ft to my left, plus other personal fitment/comfort factors and that we live in an apt building, so there are some complications we're trying to iron out, and your reviews of these products have been *unbelievably* helpful in our decision process for selecting headsets. Especially because of the price point of these things, it's a very difficult and important decision. I cannot express how grateful I am for these videos. YOU GUYS ARE *ROCKSTARS!!!*
You have just made my first world problem even harder! I've got the 8200 uc so might stick with it.. but I'm leaning to the epos now because of the additional personalisation and customisation! Thank you for the video
I hate to admit it but Poly eliminates background noise better. EPOS volume sound loudest bit not crisp, Bose output volume is low but clear, and Jabra dang I’m disappointed, it’s doing ok but didn’t wipe the floor. Great job mate!
By the way, the music in your video was fantastic. I think this was the best background music I have heard in any of your videos (maybe the first background music.... not sure). Loved it.
based on your test Poly has shockingly effective noise isolation but tubby sound. Jabra has surprisingly good sound with boom up and not surprisingly strong performance using the boom. Bose and Sennheiser were both unimpressive in your test, but they are primarily designed for music with conferencing as an afterthought. excellent video !

Great head to head review, Danny. Just my observation. Bose sounds soft and tinny, lacks oomph. EPOS is probably second best; it cuts down the background noise, but some slight hiss as you speak. With Jabra boom mic up, not too good at cutting noise. There is still some noise that mixes as the speaker speaks, ranks third for me even with the boom mic down. And the best one goes to Poly 8200; the sound is just fuller and richer among the bunch; Comparable to using a wired headset. Noise is totally gone regardless if Danny is speaking or not.
Yes, I agree with you. I listened to it two or three times with my eyes closed. Poly 8200 is the best. But as a headset to work from home, I really hesitate with a product like the EPOS IMPACT SDW 5066.
@@CallOneInc Many thanks for your tests. If I understand your answer (sorry, I'm french), you thought the Poly Voyager 8200 would have been even better than that?
Hi guys - don't you think the Poly 8200 sounds a bit bassy and muffled? I'm gonna listen again - maybe I am making that 'muffled' piece up but I don't think so. In comparison with the others, I thought it sounded muffled. Hmmmm - A re-listen will ensue....I am wondering if I am missing something. Do think that would affect conversations on the phone or in virtual session? What do you guys think? It might be that I am taking too many points away for that bassyness. Maybe that is a feature rather than a demerit. Wondering about your thoughts.
@@iu1191 Thanks for clarifying. This is just my personal preference, but what I truly value in a headset, especially in working from home, is the noise-canceling capability; this could comprise 80% of what I'm looking for in a microphone. The use case Danny presented here is exactly what I'm having in my home, a loud TV in the background. After that, maybe the remaining 20% could be a bonus such as a bassy sound against a tinny sound, again a personal preference. Then I would tend to agree with you that Poly 8200 is a little bit "muffled," but to me, it's tolerable and doesn't really affect the intelligibility of the spoken word. For others, the noise canceling-capability may not be up high on the list as they might have good privacy at home, so it really differs from person to person.
Jabra i think is still on Top, I mean as far as Business and Office utilization nature is concerned.. any chance you'll give away some of those? :) :) Jabra maybe? :)
Thanks for taking so much time to make these videos. I am comparing between Bose NC 700 (Non-UC Version, but I have a Jabra Link 370 Adaptor) and EPOS Adapt 660 since I managed to find both of them at a similar price. My main use will be for taking a lot of calls on MS Teams, Zoom and Facebook Messenger, and Occasional Music, and Netflix. Which ones should I go for?
Thank you for this amazing video. From your test it looks like voyager 8200 UC was the best to eliminate background noise. But will it work with screaming kids around?
@@CallOneInc I currently work from home and my neighbors' kids playing, running and screaming in the background could always be heard in my meetings. We hope you could find a way to simulate such setting! No review like that yet!
@@bluebee29 not sure about kids. But my coworkers can't hear my dogs barking right next to me with my Engage 75 UC MS. Found via reviews here! I'll apologize for them and coworkers will say they didn't hear. That's why I'm looking for ANC for my earpiece also.
Great review. The Voyager 8200 have the best mic anc in my opinion, which is funny since that is a product from 3 years ago or alike. One doubt Danny/team is that somewhere else I heard Voyager 8200 has a sidetone whenever you talk and it is super annoying and you CAN'T turn it off. How was your experience regarding this?
Good review. I have three of these devices and I prefer the comfort of the Bose and EPOS, over the Poly, its too big and bulky. The microphone pickup form you video, seem better from the EPOS (ex Sennheiser), than the Bose. I wanted you to comment on the audio playback, for both video calling and music playback, when not used for work. I can't separate the EPOS from the Bose, but I haven't got the greatest hearing. So hope you will comment on this (:
I like your approach to comparing these headsets. Are the dongles absolutely necessary with any or all of these headsets? My laptop has Bluetooth 5.1 built-in (Dell Precision). Will be using headset with Microsoft Teams.
Great video! Really helped me choosing the right one. Just to make sure as the topic wasn't mentioned in the video, how about when using glasses? I mean I'm about to choose the Jabra but just want to make sure they fit and are comfortable, otherwise I'll go for Poly. Thanks!
Great video thanks for sharing. I’m considering buying one of these for use together with my company-issued Dell laptop running Windows 10. My question is how you rate these in terms of ease-of-use with a Windows PC? For example, if the headphones are turned off and I get an incoming call on Teams, do they connect quick enough once turned on so that I get the chance to answer the call before the person calling me gives up? Any differences there?
Thank you for the side by side I really appreciate it. I was wondering if you can do the same thing outside at like a store and in a wind environment. Thank you.

This Poly and Plantronics merge is weird. So is Plantronics just rebranding consumer stuff as Poly now? Love my Voyager 8200's tho. I did a lot of research and they are the best bang for the buck. The mic ANC is the best you can buy in a boomless but the speaker ANC gets blown away by the Bose. Bose is next level noise cancelation, they are just average with their mic tech tho. Love the videos man!
@@CallOneInc I have watched the relevant ones :) the internal comparison is interesting, but it might sway some people to go for the jabra as opposed to the Bose/Epos now. in other comparison video's the boom arm sounded particulary tinny compared to Bose (pre-update) ruclips.net/video/msFeiUiDeVw/видео.html
The mics on the Jabra are the ones which sound better (they even sound better with the boom up than they do with the boom down). I wonder how the Jabra's audio is comparing to the EPOS. The mic sound on the EPOS is plagued by artifact sounds/ electronic noise.
EPOS wins due to full USB capability as a backup solution. I use headphones 4-8h a day at work, and I have been doing so for 10 years. I have tried them all.
