Thx guys! Lucy did a cover of listen when she had just turned 15, which is a pretty fast upbeat song. She also did a cover of Aerosmith "Don't want to miss a thing" a few years ago. Her live voice is remarkable. Maybe check out one of the releases from Manchester concert "At Last".
Hi guys, and thanks for taking one of my suggestions. Lucy is pretty much flawless in her singing. The other 2 that I mentioned previously were We Can Change The World and All By Myself, which are also ballads. The only upbeat ones I can think of are parts of Run (Snow Patrol) and Fix you (Coldplay).
A few days ago, when you were reacting to Lucy singing Unchained Melody, you were marvelling at her lower register, her low notes and here we can marvel at her higher range and high notes, although she can go higher. Someone has already mentioned Pie Jesu but it’s a good example for showing her high range, as is Dear Lord (from Rosie the Musical) where she sings with a girl choir. Like you I would like to hear Lucy sing some more uptempo songs, but slow ballads and musical theatre are her strengths, because they show off her ability to hold notes and her beautiful tone. Lucy and Martha have sung The Climb (Miley Cyrus), a bit more uptempo, and you might want to listen to Lucy’s cover of the Aerosmith song (YES AEROSMITH!!), I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing. ❤

@@HarveyShevchik-di6tx Honestly, I haven't listened to a lot of the more current artists over the past few years. That's why I enjoy watching Brit Pops React. They have introduced me to several amazing new artists like Lucy that I am not familiar with. I tend to listen to 60s and 70 music because I grew up with it and I can related to it. I prefer blues and southern rock. But I also enjoy some hard rock and soft rock songs too. Other genres I have enjoyed include a cappella groups like Voiceplay and Pentatonix. Post Modern Jukebox has a few songs I like too.
With all due respect to Leona Lewis, she can't hold a candle to Lucy's incredible versatile voice. Listen to the smoky jazz number "At Last" and then the heavenly "Pie Jesu" - a duet wih her sister Martha. Two genres at the opposite ene of the scale. A once in a lifetime talent. Also try Aerosmiths. "I don't want to miss a Thing"

I'm so happy to hear another song from this very talented artist. I agree that her voice resembles Leona Lewis in spots, but I also sense a bit of Celine Dion as well. The song did take me back to a long time ago (17 years ago), but it feels like it was only yesterday. Time flies!
I find It quite interesting that a few people have said Lucy's voice sounds a little like Celine Dion. In my humble opinion Celine struggles in the upper range and relys on releasing through that back of throat giving a nazzle sounding pitch a sign that she doesn't want to strain the vocal chords. With Lucy's well trained voice, she will never overdo or strain, the notes are clean and powerful. At twenty years old Lucy's voice is already superior to Dions and Streisand's and she's got another fifteen years before her voice is at it's prime - amazing!!

I see you give BPR FUN scores.., ok, I’ll give mine as well, if I dare.... The song itself is a nice one, let’s say an 8, but sang the “Lucy’s way” it gets a 10, as always if you have followed Lucy short but wonderful career.. Except for your rating of Unchained Melody, I thought your previous ratings of Lucy were lower than she deserved. However this time you separated the artist from the song and both of you gave Lucy a rating of 10 for her performance which was well deserved. I can understand you not liking the song Footprints In The Sand as well as Unchained Melody. So I am not as disappointed in the song rating. I can live with the overall rating knowing that Lucy got a 10. Please continue to differentiate the rating for the artist from that of the song. When you have listened to more of Lucy Thomas's songs, I think you will realize that Lucy will always give you a 10 out of 10 performance. She is by far the best female vocalist that I have heard in 70+ years.
