This Shabbat we hosted someone that we haven’t seen in such a long time. Everyone was so excited and helped in their own way. Come along on this Shabbat Prep video. 🗒️Recipes:
🍅 Matbucha:
Pulse 3 jalapeños, 3 tomatoes, 5 cloves of garlic. Place 3 tbsp of oil into a pot. Add the vegetables and sauté for 5 minutes. Season with salt, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp coriander, 1 tsp tumeric, 1 tbsp paprika. Mix and cook for 15 minutes.
🌶️ Jalapeño Dip:
Pan fry 3 jalapeños and 4 garlic cloves in 3 tablespoons of oil until golden. Blend once cooled with 1/2 cup of mayo, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder and tsp of lemon juice.
Tehini Dip:
Mix equal parts tehini paste and water. Add in 1 cloves of garlic, 1/2 a lemon squeezed and salt. Dried herbs optional.
Humus:
1 can of garbanzo beans
1/4 cup tehini
Squeeze of lemon
Salt
Cumin
Coriander
Garlic powder
3 ice cubes
3 tbsp oil
🥩 Shabbat Roast:
S/P
Garlic powder
Onion soup mix
Cumin
Coriander
Montreal steak seasoning
Cover and Bake at 350-375F for 3-4 hours.

I miss mine, too. We did all the child care for our grandchildren, so it was like having little ones again. They are in grade school now, and I miss seeing them all the time so much.

I'm a 70 year old ,black Christian woman who lives in Ohio. I always have to make sure thar I'm not hungry when I watch your videos. Your food is so good!! My mom worked for Jewish families when I was a kid. So we got to taste some of the delicious foods!!😅

How old is Miriam? My middle daughter always helped me out in the kitchen when I made Shabbat Dinner and for the Second Seder on Passover I always had a lot of people and some non Jewish neighbors. It was so much fun

The food looks so good! I am not Jewish but I ate a lot of kosher food at my university's dining hall (large Jewish community at a public college). Matzo ball soup and challah are some of my favorite foods! Have a wonderful Shabbat!
Beautiful flowers! One tip a florist told me a while back (works wonderfully, and is inexpensive) to keep your flowers fresh longer is to add about 1 tsp of hydrogen peroxide per pint of water in the vase. Really perks up the flowers too.

Just, the look. 😂 I always love your videos Sonya, I watch every one, but this one seemed extra special because of everybody's participation, from Miriam helping with everything to hubby baking, and of course conquering the rebellious jar in such a brave and manly fashion. 💪😅 Even the noisy guests at the end made it feel very real and intimate, like you'd really invited all of us to your home for dinner. A few months ago for the first time i have finally cooked some delicious meals for the shabbat, thanks to you. I did the cabbage rolls you tought in some other videos and some special rice. I even invited my mom to jojn me :-) it felt great to cook a proper meal on shabbat!❤😊

We staffed dry or fresh vegetables also , I add pomegranate molasses , you can try give nice flavour.
