Dude you’re awesome! Mine snapped today and I’ve looked everywhere for a video on this for my husq and this is the only one I’ve seen! Really helped me! Thanks
Thanks brother.. you're a lifesaver. I pay the guy twice to do this and both times he put shity belts on because within an hour after each time the belt would would snap and break.
Thanks for this. My Craftsman tractor drive belt is slipping and I had no idea where to begin. Now I know how to fix it. Also thanks for making a no nonsense video that gets right to the point.
I have this exact model and i have no power at all, a turtle could walk faster. Someone told me the tranny was shot, someone else said the drive belt.. After take the battery box out i can see that i have all kinds of slack in the transmission belt and some slack in the drive belt as well. Going to change them and hope it does the trick... now that i have watched your video(and saved it) i know that i can do it. Thanks so much
Great video. I think I have this same mower. I picked it up non running thinking it was hydro. It only seams to go one speed. SLOW af. Belt looks good. Any ideas.
Thank you. I think this is my issue. I hit a stump and from then on mower wouldn’t accelerate forward. Engine seems strong and deck belt seems fine. I think my lower drive belt is loose. Does this sound right?
These transmissions by General Transmissions were put in a lot of different brands of lawn tractors. I have a Husqvarna YTA22V46 that I purchased four years ago that has one of the transmissions in it. It's a poor design because of all the debris that can accumulate under and around the pulleys. The debris affects the operation of the forward/reverse pedal and the transmission generally. The debris requires the removal of the battery and battery tray quite often to clean the debris out. Maybe you did it before turning that mower featured in the video over to the owner and it just wasn't shown or mentioned in the video, but I was surprised you didn't clean out the debris that was around that transmission.
Yes I should've mentioned it in the video, I used a compressor with my air gun and blew out all the grass. These transmissions are horrible in Canada for riders stored outdoors, they're plastic and crack. Usually 3yrs or more out of warranty. They're $1150 CAD to replace too! Not worth it!
I have an Ariens 93608300/A19A42 that has a similar setup. It has been slipping anytime I try to go up even a small hill. May have to try a new variation belt now that I see how easy it is to replace if I can find the right belt.
Thanks for the video I didn't know how to replace the reverse gear transmission belt Husqvarna group has the belts For the deck and the drive Pro power I believe it's called Thanks for the info will be working on getting the new belt installed
Appreciate the video! Ever done this repair on Husqvarna YTA24v48? The gas tank is under the seat and not able to access the top of the transmission as you do here. Looks like I'll need to remove the body and gas tank or drop the transmission from the bottom.
I installed the new transmission belt and it not under proper tension, even when i engage the pedal mechanism.. i wonder if i not only had a broken belt but another broken link. Everything seems to be linked properly tho
Hard to say, this customer ended up splitting the transmission in half last year unfortunately. These plastic transmissions are garbage and unfortunately they cost like $1300-$1600 to replace. Most of them go forwards but not reverse. Look for cracks.
Also get a V belt ruler, Or use or make one. WHERE YOU ELIMINATE THE GUESSING GAME > TSC usually have one by there belts. Any tape measure will give you the width of the belt! Most of the lawn tractors is 1/2" or 5/8" wide V- Belts
I was working on one of those with the " General Transmission" for a friend. The belt that goes to the engine is tight but it still slips and it is a brand new belt???
I bought a 2003 Craftsman DLS 3500 special edition and it barely wouldn't attach to it the belly went out on him and he bought another one he says it ain't hooking up the same like the last 46 inch deck so what I am trying to found all the bracket to put cutting deck is there any way you can help if you have all the parts I will buy them from you along they are right one
Yes but I no longer use those numbers as I've worked on machines that had a different hood installed from the factory. The part numbers were wrong. Key example is my aunt's mower, she bought it brand new and it said to use a certain length deck belt, which was wrong. Once I ran the model number and got the IPL, it said to use a shorter belt. The hood number was incorrect.
at 1:50 when you quickly show and mention the "other pulley" what is that one? I believe that pulley is making noise on my traction, but I dont know the name of it to start doing research for it. thank man.
This machine drove much better, my customer couldn't believe how responsive it was and how much faster it went! Not sure if it would be the same as a Yard Works, all depends on the type of transmission used!
I could use a bit of help if u could. Im trying to replace the front part of where this belt is at idk the name of the part other than it shows a security system part could u plz help me and describe how to put the new part on.
I have yet to see anyone that covered the belts on a 247.288841 tractor I can't figure out how to get the transmission belt around the back side pulley and I'm having a problem pulling the engine pulley it seems seized
I like heavy duty over OEM BELTS. There heat resistance and stretches less. More durable in the V BELTS. If i can't fine the heavy duty V belts, THEN ONLY THEN, WOULD I GO OEM
Yes, in many cases they have been incorrect! I always recommend referring to the owners manual part section, or Google the model number and get a illustrated parts list.
My yt has a cooling fan on top of the drive pulley and my belt is jammed down under it on the left side and I have all this stuff in the way unlike what you have there,
My tractor came factory equipped with a skinny drive belt. Makes no sense to me why they'd put a smaller one on it. I just ordered the oem one and I wish I could have purchased the fatter version :-(
@@EliminatorPerformance I wanted to also ask you about the services for the rear differential fluid on these tractors. I didn't see anything mentioned about it in my manual. Does it need changed or is it pretty much bulletproof and good for the life of the tractor? I'd imagine that its gear oil of some sort
YES! Thank you soooo much. This stay-at-home homeschooling mom of 7 just changed her own transmission belt. Wahoo!
Way to go, congrats! And thanks for watching!
Much respect!
Cool stuff
Hell yea!!!!!
Thank you, sir. Now, I can go and fix my ride and get the lawn mowed. Thank you for sharing.

Nice short video showing what a proper transmission belt will do for performance, your customer must be extremely happy.
He was extremely happy, thanks for watching!
Thanks for posting this. Working on a Husqvarna with the same variable speed transmission pulley.
Posting the belt number was a big help as well.
Thanks brother.. you're a lifesaver. I pay the guy twice to do this and both times he put shity belts on because within an hour after each time the belt would would snap and break.
It was difficult finding a video on this particular belt. Yours was very informative and instructive. Thanks, now to try it ourselves
Thanks for watching!
Belt numbers were a good call thanks!
Great video! I have an Ariens A19A42 and it was very simliar. I'd say about 90% the same. The video offered enough guidence to make it work. Thanks!
Great video , Another grateful customer that will be back
Absolutely, thanks for watching Chris!

Yes I would use a compressor to blow out the area
Is this the same procedure for the YT3000?
Eliminator performance, I got the same mower drive gear box , it will move backWards but not forwards, any suggestions Eliminator #1 ..

It's possible that it's too long of a belt? Maybe try a half inch shorter if it's only slightly slipping?

All part numbers drive, deck air filter, spark plug etc numbers are stamped inside the hood when you open it up

Husqvarna!
@EliminatorPerformance husqvarna can't find the belt it shows up on the diagram but no part numbers
Need to SEE how to release the seat slide adjustment release guides to move the seat backwards ,Thx d.c.

I need to know the name of that "other pulley" to. It has a spring and helix on it so must be some sort of clutch pulley.
my belt seems to be to loose. its not supposed to be loose it?
Do you have any pic on the drive belt on this tractor?
No sorry
Good day Good video, boy I bet that went alot faster than the little old one. Would this be the same for a Yard works. Thanks for now
