The scenes between Lorelia and Emily were the best part of GG. Both were like they wanted to be close with each other, but stop just short of crossing the line.
No offense to the two lead Gilmore Girls but IMO Emily was THE BEST character on that show. Funny, sarcastic, smart as a whip, impeccable in her delivery & downright HILARIOUS!!!
I agree 100%, and even though Lorelai has a strained relationship with Emily, they're much alike, like Lorelai definitely inherited her wit and intelligence from her mom 🤣

They were always like not wanting to low their defenses until the other does it... but inspite of this, they had quite good moments!!!!

Poor Emily, she didn't know she wanted a different relationship with Lorelai til she saw how Lorelai and Rory were together.
I guess if she would've had the change of AYITL lots of years before, their relationship would've been so different and way better!!
