Forgive me Gale, I've caught up with this week's VODs and now my business economist brain is filled with thoughts. There appears to be a changing of the guard occurring within your fandom, which is definitely a sign of your rising success and increasing popularity. I may be only a lurker but I have always enjoyed reading chat and observing your fandom. Lately I see so many new names, and I'm looking for other names I do not see, and there's an underlying tonal shift accompanying this that has become familiar to me from years of watching vtubers. On one hand I welcome this evolution, because you deserve to, as my sons would say, "pop off". On the other hand, I know that fans with a certain mindset tend to be fair-weather and difficult to retain. So it appears you may be on the precipice between either a smaller fanbase of long-term loyalists, or a larger fanbase of perpetually-repopulating casuals. Which is better? There are arguments to be made for either, and different measures of success with both. I hope you just continue making content you're comfortable and happy with, and whichever type of fan responds to that and adapts itself to mold around you is the right base for you. May you always thrive in this space.
Id love to probe your brain more about this kind of thing… I think with the new Gen 2 boys theres basically a “second coming” of viewers that are either being exposed to us for the first time due to the upcoming debuts, and also old viewers that feel as though its a second chance to be able to initiate themselves amongus! Like you said though either way I’ll stay the course and do as I always have 🫡
