    One of the things I learned from how my current grips are installed is that you can leave a slight (SLIGHT) amount of the grip overhanging the end (ie. don't cut them too short). Once you put the bar ends back on, this gives it a neater look than if there is any gap. Also there are 3 different versions of the pro and the differences are entirely about the length of the grip. You can cut all of them back a little bit, but you can't add grip and you can't cut anymore than the last demarcation line, so measure wisely.

    these oxford pro grips are so much better than the previous oxford ones looks like they were fitted at the factory using a screwdriver to get the WD40 in to loosen the grip is a fantastic tip

    Got a set fitted last week from a dealership very low heat and keeping turning from red to green to blue, dealership told me this is normal with these grips,I personally think they are faulty had Oxford grips before the older type and you would have had to turn them down, dealership won't replace these as they say they are fine

    I don't sand the throttle grip down, I just tap the new grip gently with a mallet and an appropriately sized socket so I don't have to use any glue to keep it in place. Have done this for years with zero issues. You may want to use glue on the left grip or just stick something underneath it as you're sliding it into position, like a thick zip tie piece (or two)

      Hey, couple of questions for ya:
      Since you recently bought them I’m assuming you shopped around - can tell me what the best price is that that you found? I’m gonna have them shipped to the US if I get them, because unfortunately they’re not sold here.
      How are you liking them so far? Warm enough?

    • @eaglestrikes1
      @eaglestrikes1 Месяц назад +1

      Hi there, I purchased mine from Amazon £179.99 (paid over 5 months interest free) due to the weather I have not yet tested them on the road but they feel warm enough to the touch. Word of warning I got into trouble with the superglue they suppled it set hard within a second or two and I had the grip 3/4 on, either ensure the grip goes on easy or I would suggest using a different adhesive. Kind regards Phil

      @@eaglestrikes1 thanks for that tip, I got from another video the idea of using hairspray and sliding them on quickly. Apparently this method is better for eventual removal as well. I’m now off to Amazon UK to have them shipped to the US. Hopefully the shipping cost won’t be an arm and a leg and a spleen.

    Hi, great video. Want to buy the same grips, but can only find 22mm grips. Don't I need 25mm for the Bonneville? Also there are different grip patterns for touring, adventure and sport. Witch one did you have in the video?

      I’m not 100% sure but I think all bars taper out to the same size at the grips. Don’t quote me on that. I went for the sport I believe. You’ll be able to see in the Oxford photos when you buy them

    i want heated grips for my Yamaha MT07, Yamaha makes them but they said i need a connecting wire & they can't get that wire & have no idea when they can....i thought the Oxford grips had a large controller you had to mount on the handlebars, i have my phone mount on my left side & there's no room on my right bar......but the Grips you put on, will work.....b/c the controller is built into the grip....so i'll probably order these grips....thank you...

    Nice video.
    I am very interested in these as I have never liked the control box versions but my Yamaha OEM grips just aren't hot enough.
    I'm interested to know if the max heat of the Pros are as hot as the max heat of the Advanced or EVO versions as the control box versions have many more setting rather than just the three. The integrated control is nice but it is the heat that is most important.

    My hot grips pro are really disappointing and don't get anywhere near warm enough. Using a calibrated thermocouple I only get 35 deg C on maximum setting, 10 deg C less than Oxford claim. It doesnt matter if I'm stationary or moving, they max out at 35 deg C. They're getting 12V as they should, but an ammeter test shows their current draw dropping to just 2.3A shortly after starting to heat. It clearly looks like a faulty product to me yet they tell me it's normal. Ive even tried a replacement left grip with the controls in it because the original was missing one of the threaded collars for the electrical connection. The replacement they sent me was missing a different part 😄 Their quality control is absolutely abysmal.
    Most people with Oxford grips say that they are too hot to really hold with ungloved hands on high setting.

    • @BorisTheDefender
      @BorisTheDefender  6 месяцев назад

      That’s really odd. Mine are so hot I need to turn them off after a while.

    • @MrJulianneave
      @MrJulianneave 6 месяцев назад

      @@BorisTheDefender Yeah I really want to get to the bottom of it because I'm feeling pretty ripped off at the moment. Very disappointing that their support team basically don't want to know about it and just say "it's normal" when it clearly isn't. My guess is a batch of faulty temperature sensors that are reporting incorrect higher temperatures, or a batch of faulty controllers that are not targeting the correct temperature.
