The thing in the sky that looked like a red dragon was actually one of those tiny wyverns the mage summoned. They are assuming that if one of the wyverns sees them, they will report back to the mage.
Also, cool video, and this episode was really fun.

when you know the lore of dryads this episode feels wrong. Dryads are intelligent beings like elves and are classed as being able to speak three different languages. I think it was really messed up including them on the menu, at this point they may as well eat their elf companion too. O.o
