Dropping a Bowling Ball in the Shredder

- So in this video i will test a bowling in my shredding machine. Obvisouly the bowling ball did not get caught by the shredder teeth, so i had to make it smaller with a hammer.
A bowling ball is very strong, and i had a hard time smashing it in to pieces.

Historically, bowling balls were often made from dense hardwoods such as Lignum Vitae, but starting in the early 20th century, hard rubber became the primary material for bowling balls. The first bowling balls to be made from polyester ("plastic") were produced in the late 1950s. This would become the predominant material in the 1970s. In the early 1980s, polyurethane ("urethane") bowling balls were introduced. Urethane balls provided greater friction on the lane, which allowed for a greater angle of entry of the ball to the "pocket" (space between two of the front-most bowling pins, known for providing the greatest percentage of strikes), and as a better match to the increasing use of polyurethane varnish on wood lanes, and with wood lane "overlays" and fully synthetic lanes using a polyurethane surface. This is desirable, as a greater entry angle tends to provide a higher striking percentage.[4][5][6]
In the early 1990s, a new material known as "reactive resin" was introduced. Reactive resin is still made from polyurethane, but has been treated with additives while in a liquid state that create pores in the coverstock that allow it to absorb oil. As oil is absorbed into the ball rather than sitting on the surface, there is greater friction between the ball and the lane.[4][5]
In the late 1990s, "particle" balls were introduced. By distributing small particles into the reactive polyurethane cover, manufacturers are able to create even higher friction. This is particularly noticeable on oily surfaces, where a particle ball is able to create considerably more friction than balls of other materials. The types of particles and their properties may vary between balls and manufacturers.[4][5]
Particle and reactive resin balls are common in modern play, particularly on lanes with relatively higher volumes and/or lengths of oil.[4][5]
Plastic balls are also commonly thrown when a bowler wants a ball that will move in a very straight line, particularly while trying to make spares. Urethane balls are less common, but may still be used for strike shots on less oily lanes.[4][5]

That is one stubborn bowling ball!!! Now I need to look up what they are made out of high-density resin? Just to keep in line with the bowling theme, you should shred some bowling pins.
I wonder how much an aluminum bowling ball would wiegh and how well it would perform in comparison to a regular ball, and a brass bowling ball. Same thing with the bowling pins.
I would love to see you shred some model cars of all different sizes , that way it will look like a real life shredder we see in scrap yards at work.
Hay Ben, ik hou heel erg van je video's en vooral van de Shredding Machine ik zag in deze video dat veel harde materialen uit de Shredder vliegen, zou het misschien een idee zijn om er een verwijderbare doos van plexiglas omheen te maken zodat het materiaal meteen terug word gegooid. Maar blijf vooral deze vette video's maken XD
Try to figure out a way to mount a few tape measures up and have the shredder pull the tape as it shreds it.
Would be hard to keep the tape from retracting back into the case.

Try getting clear walls to go around the Shredder like a cube and a wooden top that can be removed is would help with stuff not flying out
You should make a plexiglass box (with open top and bottom) to act like a guide and to keep pieces from falling off the grinder. Could use some rare earth magnets to hold it to the frame of the grinder.

i was so nervous when you were smashing the bowling ball with your hammer, is seriously thought that 1 of the pieces was going to hit your nice car.
You could add some chicken wire around it to prevent stuff from flying out! Just a thought. Great videos!

Maybe add an acrylic box on top of the shredder to use as a hopper so peices dont fly out but you can still see in.

Here is a tip that can hepl you, you can build some kind of hopper to drop the obsects inside and prevent them to fall down, or jump outside the shredder.
I have a hopper for the shredder, but it obscures the camera view :)
PressTube well, if you make a window made out of methacrylate you can see what's going on inside, but that would be a lot of work😅

Try putting them into the vacuum chamber and see if there is a change . Also try to cast them

Shred different types of melons or fruits. Melons could be honeydew watermelon cantaloupe pumpkins gourds etc. fruits could be you know apples oranges bananas dragon fruit... maybe a durian 👀 or you could shred ballistics gel. That would be a cool video.
