I picked up this exact model, $185 from Walmart. seasoned it with 6 thin coats of grapeseed oil, 15-min burnoff each. First cook was some Chinese sausage and game-changing smashburgers with sauteed onions. gonna smash onto diced onions next time. mayo on the rolls to brown them!
I watch videos a lot when I need a real review of a product I am considering buying and I have to say yours is exceptional. You go over every part and tells the pros and cons and that's what i was looking for. Thanks for taking the time to inform me about this grill. I have been considering many options as far as what to purchase. My decision to purchase this grill was for this reason. I don't care how much you pay for a grill, be it $1500.00 0r $300.00 they start rusting from the day you buy them even if you have a nice cancas cover. I think I will be able to break this down or move the entire grill into my garage which will prolong it's life. Also It may be possible to transport it for camping or a cookout remotely. Definately going to purchase it For $188.00 at Walmart you can't go wrong.
We've used this griddler for a variety of items including steak, fish, vegetables ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMcXT6_MuT0hB3ejyGQQHaeof9bwoWPUf and mushrooms and it's been great! Gets that great smokey flavor when using high heat or sear. The grill works amazingly simple and very low smoke for what it is. Heat gets up fairly quick, especially on closed position. The griddler side is fairly simple, better for eggs and pancakes rather than any cooking. Use the flat plates with the grill side if needed.Cleanup is easy and having heat on both sides is great for cooking a large amount or panini press. This definitely gets hot though so be careful with the sides.
I got mine the other day and am loving it. We found one that had a damaged box so we only paid 100.00 for it. Once set up the legs seem solid, no wobbling.
Thanks for the review. Suggestion, when seasoning it, also wipe/season the outside edges of the griddle. This will help keep the entire unit rust free and help in keeping it clean. Skillet
I have the 22" Blackstone without the stand but mine only came with the adapter for small camp size propane connector and not the one for the larger 20# tanks. Did I get shorted?
Now I "NEED" one!! My ol' Coleman stove will be jealous!.. lol.. Its just about an all in one, minus pans for green beans, etc.. Or castiron for campfire cooking.
I have the exact same model you do I went to Walmart to the RV section picked up some of those bubble levelers replace them on the stand and leveled out the griddle, so now I can set the table up anywhere and have it level everytime I set The Griddle on it.
I got this same one last weekend and I love it. The 17 inch version is supposed to fit on this stand and that is what the other set of holes are for on the stand. I wish the legs were more stable at full height. I just shortened them a bit and checked the level. I can’t wait to spend the summer trying different things on this griddle
You can just turn it around and the hose is on the opposite side of the shelf. As long as you don’t care that then blackstone logo is on the back then it’s a fine solution.
Blackstone griddles are awesome. I own three different sizes. Best griddle for your money. This model is perfect for camping with the family and friends. As far as leveling, stick a level on it somewhere if you can’t eyeball it. They make stick on levels.
Actually I bought the 17 inch griddle and it came with the glass covered hood. I'm thinking of getting the 22 inch though. Great video. I'm now a subscriber thx
Cool! I just got one on a Black Friday deal. For the non-camper / non-RV crowd, plenty of deals on the 36" ... 4 burners, nice cart.. Not a whole lot more money. Also got a very nice griddle tool set (Blackstone) from W-Mart at a decent price..
I just got it for Father’s Day as a early gift. It’s my first griddle ever I feel like it’s a lot of cleaning the legs on it are very un sturdy. I guess my question is can you just lay the griddle on a table where the rubbers are or it might burn the table.?
I haven’t personally done that but I’ve thought about it. It looks like you should be able to with the feet. However, it has to get pretty hot so I’d put it on stone or wood.
I have that exact same one and I love it but I didn’t like the legs that high so I found the notches and each leg is 13” high since I’m short it’s perfect I did have to adjust a little as everything ran to the back I lost i don’t know how many eggs out the dang hole into the grease trap when I poured my scrambled eggs on it lol so I said ok this isn’t gonna work time to drag the ol tape measure out n measure each leg to exact same height lol. Worked perfect now but I was wondering can you buy a set of roller feet for it so it’s easier to move I’d like to just put rollers on the one side any ideas sure would be helpful thank you in advance
Also another question just cause I feel like you’re OK to help people is like I was cooking eggs and I see that you want it tilted to the back if I do that the eggs kinda start going towards that area so what would you recommend?
I keep mine outside, but I have a covered patio. The hard lid is really nice to keep it clean. If none of those work for you, I’d try one of the soft covers.
I think the legs are designed that way intentionally to limit teetering while cooking. They should also help stability when they are all splayed out from the center😉
Thanks for the video, well done. Do you use the cover when cooking or is it just to cover the griddle while not in use? Seems like it adds a bit of weight for travel and wonder if you find it to be essential. Thank you!
I’ve never taken the cover off. I only close it when cooking if I want to create more of an oven or steam effect. You could take it off and use a bowl to get the same effect. Good thought!
It’s decent. It just uses screws to pinch the inner leg. There are holes to secure the leg, but that doesn’t always make the surface level correctly. I’ve never had a leg collapse or fail, but it does feel a little unstable. Opportunity for improvement.
I just bought a brand new one and the ignition doesn’t work right it doesn’t light as soon as I turn it for some reason I have to try several times is there a fix for that??
I had the same problem. Remove the griddle so you can see the burners. Then trigger the igniters and make sure the arc isn’t grounding to another piece of metal. That’s what mine was going. So I just needed to bend some soft metals to allow the arc to go across the burner
Great video I appreciate it I already ordered mine before I seen your video but man you definitely made me feel good about my purchase so again thank you. You should make a video on accessories that you have gotten for it or that you may recommend. Keep up the awesome work.
I haven’t done an accessories video, but I did a “re-seasoning” video this year bc the griddle got a little rusty over the winter. Check it out ruclips.net/video/TNKEt0VuFXE/видео.html
Thanks for the info! I should have looked that up 😬. We’ve had a wetter than usual winter in Texas and I have a little rust on my top I need to address.
I was going to buy the 17" Adventure tabletop griddle but was told that the lid for the Adventure 17" tabletop griddle is not hinged like the older 17" tabletop griddle model, and the 22" Adventure griddle in your video and, you that cannot use it when cooking. Is this correct?
I cannot find anything in the owners manual that says NOT to cook with the hood down. I’ve cooked with it down many times. It’s all steel so I don’t see the problem.
@@raiderdawgranch I can see that the 22" Adventure griddle has a hinged lid, but I don't know about the 17" Adventure griddle. I saw a video that showed it had a lid but it was not hinged which would make it difficult to use. Thank you!
If you registered your unit, you can purchase another shelf cheaply from blackstone. Those big holes in the legs are not for using. These units dont really have to be perfectly level, just eyeball it. And yes, i have had mine since before covid. Warning, this little unit really puts out some heat. Rarely use it near high heat levels. Got mine for 145.00 at wal mart. So keep your eyes out for end cap sales.
Great review I just bought one today but mines has the wheels and folding legs. Which is perfect since I stay in a townhome lol. Can’t wait to use it bout to have a cookout soon
Nice video! I don't see how the shelf could be attached to both sides. Also, I don't think you should really use the holes to attach the legs at say its highest position.
I have this one and a 36”. I had a 17” as well. I hate this one because it is so hard to get to light. My old 17” that I sold would light instantly every time. Sadly this one doesn’t. Sometimes I have to get a grill lighter to light it.
I've had the same problem with lighting. I took the lighter assembly apart and noticed it was sparking to another piece of metal that was not near the gas.
The spark will jump to the nearest price of metal, so I carefully bent the pieces of metal so the correct piece over the burners was closer. Just takes some adjusting
I just bought my 2nd one to save money. And again I wish I would have spent the extra money to get a nice one. The legs are cheap and hard to get level. The grill itself is wobbly also. Looks horrible on my patio and not easily portable. Spend the extra money
Have this exact griddle sitting outside my travel trailer right now. have the 36" at home. Love them both. The 22" ois perfect for travel!
I might end up doing the same thing! Love that griddle!

I just purchased a 22” Blackstone and your video help grow the excitement of starting the journey with my Blackstone. Keep-’em coming. Skillet
Glad you enjoyed it, and I just did a new video of re-seasoning for the spring and used your advice to season the sides too!

Yea I agree with the legs. 1 they aren’t as solid as I’d like, 2 they should automatically set a tilt to the back, assuming level ground.
They should have put the shelf on opposite side of gas inlet
You can just turn it around and the hose is on the opposite side of the shelf. As long as you don’t care that then blackstone logo is on the back then it’s a fine solution.
The shelf is for 1lb tanks so they can sit on the self
Awesome!!!! you're the only one I found out of tons of videos who actually put a measuring tape on the dang griddle Thank you!
Thanks for watching, and glad to help!
Just moved into my first apartment this looks perfect for it

@@raiderdawgranch a good sized drop of oil on a cold grill surface will help you get the proper drop toward the drain.
I just use a regular short plastic level, level it while it's cold. keep it flat side to side, tilted slightly towards the back. easy to use.
