I really don't think she quite got it.
    50's TV was CENSORED.
Everything had to be wholesome, family viewing with no mention of sex, politics, strong violence, drugs, alcohol etc.
There is also the idea that in TV shows, nobody goes to the bathroom or masturbates.
The colour comes from discovering the real person inside you, rather than the one you are expected to be.

I think she had a tremendous grasp on that subject for a twenty year old here.

She could have summed it up with one word ...." Sterile"

    cool interview
to me the turning to color was about finding a new program, new method of living , becoming aware about how everything changes
I find it interesting in the last scenes of the movie the Fiona Apple cover of the beatles song "across the univers" has the lyrics
" nothing is going to change my world"
it's funny because change is essential in actually what happens in tv movies, life and dreams
it might be the attempt to avoid change is how one understands it better and learns to accept it and see how it will be effective and positive

I love this movie. because stuff like that happens today. people cannot accept change. just like the changes today, such as gay marriage, abortion, assisted suicide etc.
